The only things i can think of im doing is
using the swirly light bulbs
buying recycled yarn
Recycling coke cans
that's all i can think of
is there anything else i can do to go green?
Edit: im going to plant flowers and plants
is there a soil i should use?

Whatever you can do will help. Read some of the other posts in the "What have YOU done?" Section.

One thing you could consider when shopping is buying green products. They are all-natural are usually work just as good as the other products. For example, GreenWorks products are great. Plus, you can find them in stores so they're pretty easy to find.

Also think of how many things you can get out of a garden! My family has tomato plants, herbs (basil, spearmint, cilantro and more that I can't remember), sunflowers, chives, apple trees, cucumbers, catnip, and a whole bunch of pretty flowers which attract birds, butterflies and other animals. This summer has been very dry where I live, so the birds love bathing in our pond and stream.

There are plenty of things you can do! Anywhere you look, you can find things that you could replace with that would be greener.

If you'd like some even cheaper yarn that you can repurpose, you can go to your local thrift store and pick up a garment made from yarn. You can snip unravel it and use the yarn for your next project.

old furniture can be re-finished if you're looking to redecorate.

This is a good question. 3nodding
-Turn off and unplug all appliances when you are done with them.
-Don't eat fast food.
-Go vegetarian.
-Recycle.

There's so much you can do.

- Compost. Food, or natural things in general (fruit peels, cores, egg shells, etc.) shouldn't be thrown in the garbage.
- Recycle everything you can, and reuse whatever you can, too.
- Try to limit the amount of waste plastic. Shop with tote bags, things like that.
- Try to get organic food, when you can (it's much better for soil preservation, lessens groundwater pollution, and is generally healthier).
- Buy second hand clothes, or clothes from alternative/organic fabrics. I've mentioned this a few times now. So much water and pesticides are used in growing conventional cotton.
- Eat less meat, or go vegetarian. This is huge. 80% of US agricultural land is used for feeding meat (livestock). It takes about 12,000 gallons of water to get a pound of beef. It takes 60 gallons to get a pound of potatoes. It's so incredibly unsustainable.
- If you can, try growing some of your own food, or just buy locally. So often this is better for limiting waste, as well as carbon emissions. It's also better economically.
