http://www.cracked.com/article_16196_7-commandments-all-videogames-should-obey.html
I've read the entire thing and I have to say that every commandment makes a lot more sense than that "other" list of commandments. The only thing I'm sort of saying isn't true is the part where Tidus in Final Fantasy X starts laughing. To me, it sounded like he wasn't really laughing but forcing himself to laugh. I digress though, and think this is an awesome thing everyone here should read.

The last commandment is probably my favorite.

#7, #5-#1 are great. I love it though, in the final, #1 Commandment, they used diagrams of the systems to show the power and sales compared to eachother. AND THE WII TOTALLY OWNED, despite the small power size. Actually, it was the DS that owned. Man, that one dude totally got his a** handed to him and he probably doesn't even know it.

#1: I completely agree but I'd prefer graphics AND innovation. #2: It's unfortunate this even has to be here. #3: If they can keep making good games I don't care if they keep pumping them out. s**t, if they're still fun I don't care if it's Final Fantasy 47 or Call of Duty Modern World of Warfare at War 17. #4: Killing IS fun, better character models should fall more into graphics and developer lazyness. Oh and ******** you guys I love Freeman's crowbar! <3 #5: Repetition sucks. Grrrr level grinding... #6: I don't mind padding as long as it's not repeatative padding. #7: Being able to play with other people in the same room is awesome but it doesn't take much away from a game for me. Ever heard of taking turns?

I hate when people complain about the Final Fantasy X voice acting and use the Tidus and Yuna FAKE laughing scene as an example.
They were FAKE laughing it's SUPPOSED to sound fake. Yuna was just like "try laughing out loud" and Tidus just does, and Yuna joins him. That was probably the best quality voice acting in the whole game actually. It's easy, anyone can fake laugh.

Comandment 8- Thou shalt not craft thy gameplay to shoehorn gamers into trying your new innovative mechanics
(See: Red Steel et al on the Wii, Ratchet and Clank Future)
So you're going through a great game like R&CF, turning bitches into barnyard animals with your ray gun, and suddenly the action grinds to a halt in order to make you do some lame a** hacking game using the sixaxis.
Not necessary. There is a time and a place for it, but not in the middle of the action.

I can't be sure though since it's not in front of me.
