ok so we started vacation bible school monday and i met this new kid named michael and as i was talking to him he started cursing saying all kinds of curse words like it was nothin to him idk what to do i didnt go off on him i kinda just put it behind me and decided not look at the bad and get to know him...but what do i say to him? im so lost.....by the way im new biggrin so ello everyone

I don't know.
I guess I do that a little too much. Just act like you're not okay with that; whenever my Christian friends do that I remember what I'm saying. Make sure you don't act like it's nothing too though. If you do that, you might start saying things like that too. I learnt that the hard way. :/

i think its ok to curse but jst not in gods house well many ppl shuldnt curse but still ya know?

Thank the Lord that lately my swearing has been diminishing. I still let it slip sometimes, but I'm working on that. In my church whenever anyone swears everyone around them is like "NO SWEARING IN CHURCH." If you hang around people who curse all the time, chances are you'll start acting like them. As I often say, bad company corrupts good character. My friends' actions often rub off on me, and not the other way around.

And know that God forgives you. Don't use that as an excuse to swear more though. smile

Any of you ever think about what used to be a curse word and laugh? Like "Blast" used to be one, "Bloody"(still is in england, but still. I find them funny. ^_^

if you have a pupil/student/apprentice(you name it biggrin ) that swears,don't correct them,just suggest "cooler"ones that are slang but not bad words. I don't have to tell you this,but it could be forgotten razz ray for Michael.

Michael who? Michael Jackson? Because if you mean Michael Jackson, don't bother. Praying for the dead is not biblical, it's something done by Catholics who think that if enough people pray for someone, they'll get out of purgatory (also unbiblical) sooner. Besides, I think it's more important for us to pray for the persecuted Christians in India, China and Korea first.

99% of my friends curse. It doesn't bother me because I really don't care. All I care about is if they're saved or not. If they are, then what they do is their own business. If they're not, then that's what I focus on.

Yea I need to stop cursing. I do it all the time, and I guess since all my friends do it it really doesn't help at all.

Mt friend (who I know is saved) curses like a sailor. He knows it's wrong, but he feels that it is a part of him. He's tried to stop several times, but "can't." Sometimes, there's nothing you can do. Others, you can only try.

Personally what I mind the most is when people take the Lord's name in vain, though cursing on any level isn't good.
