Komori-Chan No, it's not some fancy lure to get you in here. It's a statement, and I want to find some other girls who feel this way as well. Guys, of course, are welcome to join in too. To be clear: I'm not bashing feminists or their causes, or anyone really. These are my personal opinions on being a young woman, and they're not intended to criticize anyone else. Common misconceptions about me: 1. Yes, I am an actual girl. 2. No, I was not abused as a child in anyway. 3. Yes, I had a strong father figure. 4. No, I'm not seeking approval or attention. What I mean: 1. I think women have officially gone mad with power. 2. Men are losing everything it once meant to be a male. 3. Chivalry is dead. 4. Just once would I like to be revered for the way I look, without some moron throwing in, "But it's what's inside that counts". Am I really the only girl left that appreciates a cliche pick-up line every now and again? To each their own, I say. I, for one, think its a bit of a double standard, what most women want in rights. Example, they say they want equal treatment in everything, but when the bill comes for dinner, do they want to pay half? Nope, they epect the dude to pay the whole thing, 'cause it's what the guy is supposed to do. I'm sure there are more lik you out there, you just have to seek them out. Some people like to get it put to them, and some don't, nothin' can change that.

Okay. Well, I guess I disagree with you.
I agree that it's nice to be treated like a "lady", but most of the time I prefer to be treated as "one of the guys" or just like anyone else. Sure, I can appreciate a gentleman, but mostly I think it's just funny and unnecessary.
And while i do think that some feminists are going on the extreme, the cause is pretty justified. I hate feeling second just because I'm female, and that kind of discrimination also tends to lead to discrimination based on my race (I'm a minority) and my sexual orientation.
And actually, I always pay half or all of the bills, because I think that's fair and I hate the pressure it puts on other people to have to pay for me.

I pretty much agree with you. it seems some women are into having the same status as men and keeping the benefits of being the "weaker gender". in other words they want to be treated like fragile princesses but at the same time they want to be kings.

As for me, I don't have the big problem for I am with a girl, we usually just take turns with paying for things, it's just easier and more fair that way, though we don't keep tabs, it's usually just whoever has money at the time or who can get to their wallet first.. i think some women want to much power and take things to far (e.g. The right to go topless in public like men do.. no this is not Europe, this is Canada I am speaking about) What self respecting women would do that? I wouldn't. We're different genders and thus we are treated slightly different, it's just how nature works. I don't think sexism is a good thing, don't get me wrong, but people's dads treat their daughters different from their sons. (E.G. walking home late at night, yeah guys can walk home pretty easily, ya know being able to usually defend themselves if something happens but when women walk home at night you don't know what's going to happen to you, you don't know if that guy following behind you is going to jump you, rape you and kill you.. thus we have pepper spray mrgreen While guys usually use their fist to cause pain) There's always a line between men and women, it can't be helped. There's rights that women need, like the right to work, voting, etc. but some just take it to far.. makes me wonder if they forget they're women and not men.

I beg to differ with the person who created that quote. Chivalry is not dead. In fact Chivalry is the code I try to live by every day. Most of it is little things. But as for paying the bill, I feel it's our way as guys to show that we'll take care of you and showing that we do have some finacial stability. Though since right now I'm a full time student and holding a part time job... don't always have the money to do so. Thus leaving me in the position of saying "I'm afraid it'll be on you if we go out, I've had to spend more in gas" or "VISA bill came due."

What if we were raised equally, regardless of our sexes/genders? Sure, there would be some minor physical tendencies, but perhaps females wouldn't be seen as weaker and such. Maybe.

*sigh*... my "favourite" subject isn't it... the difference between women and men... to tel you the truth, I see none, but I just noticed (and I clearly state I'm PERFECTLY sure it's ABSOLUTELY NOT all the time like this, just stating my experiances...) that even though women are stronger mentally, when they get on the lead, something erm... "hits them" and they become more agressive in what they do. And the women I saw use what they can to proove just how worse men are then them sweatdrop Where I for instance don't give a damn and concider both genders equal... still, it doesn't stop me from getting "my share of the beating"... It just freaks me out eek Another subject... I have to agree with mr. Apollo on the fact that Chivalry is not dead, since that would mean my life is a lie sweatdrop
And about sex discrimination... well, with all the feminists running around yelling how they want equal rights, calling all men pigs etc (again, I'm just stating my own experiances, so I might not be right with all cases) actually I'm the one who feels discriminated here eek Since there's noone to stand in my defence, and if I only try to look at a girl "in a wrong way" I could get severly yelled at, and I don't even want to start on what could happen to me if I accidentally touch someone sweatdrop

Hmm.. I think both genders are sexist, not really because of society and upbringing but because we are different sexes. Being a bit of a geek and loving video games and a female, men tend to thing I'm pathetic at video games even though women can be just as effective and successful players. I hate this. However women seem to assume other things like that a men don't knit or are horny freaks who rape women when women can act just as lust filled. As for feminism, I'm a bit of a feminist. I like my equal opportunity and not to be treated differently. Some men however like to treat women with more grace and care and like women to act that way, fragile, cute and innocent. Also nothing wrong with that. Thats my two cents anyway.
