Oh my gosh! I've never been so excited ever! Tonight I'm going with a bunch of other people from my marching band and were all heading down to the local community college where different bands from DCI are competing, such as Academy, and I think the Blue Devils are going to be there but Im not sure! Im so SO excited I can hardly stand it! Does anyone else watch the DCI competitions on TV or even in real life?

My band goes every summer to watch all the Corps perform in San Antonio, mostly because my band director tries to brainwash us by making us pay close attention to the Cavaliers' marching style (we adopted their style for our marching band).
I personally like Phantom Regiment. 3nodding

I totally agree! Phantom regiment is awesome! Were not exactly copying any particular bands style but our new Drum major wants to incorporate some stuff that we see into our band show this year. Sux about ur band teacher tho! Good luck!

I love watching DCI. Tv theatres and of course live. Academy I have issues with but that was when we competed against them. I love Phantom. Cadets are rocking this year as well as cavi's. Crown's hornling is good but i despise the visual things they have xp

The colorguards hit it off pretty ok.. the Academy hornline disliked our guard very much (we didn't know why) plus their horns didn't really migle with ours. On the way thru finals we started hearing more and more smack talk which in my opinion is awfully lame. We heard snide comments that our guard didn't know how to spin properly which made us laugh and of course get angry. But it's in the pat and I have the best colorguard plaque for that season. So yeah lol

My friend who plays snare (he's a freshman, thank you very much) and I went to one at a community college, it had some fairly famous corps there. Velvet Knights are my favorite though. They were there.
We saw the other snare, the tenor, and the girl who at the time was 1st bass (she's now on mellophone), and a guard girl there. Then 2 girls from a few counties over came up to us and talked about New York...... we ran away.

Let me rephrase that. Ive noticed that trombone players are never arrogant at least in my case. Im not sure if its like that there, but it tends to be like that here.
