I'm just trying to get a rough idea of how people think of Obama. Personally, I believe he is spineless because of his "alliance" with dictators such as Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. Also, him denouncing America in front of EUROPEAN officials just tells them that he's alllowing them to walk all over us. The recession is not fully our fault. Also, why isn't he taking precautions for N. Korea? I'm just a bit disappointed, and people do not seem to know why.

nearly every politician is spineless republicans and democrats. as for our esteemed president I feel he is a smart man with an amazing oratory skill but alas he puts it to wrong use. the one thing he and manyother politicians are lacking is commen sense. commen sense would have told them that you cant spend your way out of debt. commen sense would have told them not to pull out of the bail outs a measure preventing bonuses only to a week later grill ceo's for receiving them. commen sense would have told them that when you trash the dollar by printing money without end the economy would get worse not bettercommen sense would have told them that some dictatores are unwilling to come to the table and that when they fix elecctions in their own country our leaders should emediatly cease relations with them. but I guess the Americn people are partialy to blame for having electing these people and trusing them to uphold and defend the Constitution.

I take it you've read Glenn Beck's Common Sense!

Well, personally, I think Obama is, with all of this deficit spending, in effect auctioning us (the population of the United States) to the highest bidder, which is China right now.

Exactly! I think liberals are beginning to catch on about who they elected.

I personally would disagree. I wish I could call him spineless, if he was he would have bowed to the will of the people as a spineless person does under pressure. So, correct me if I'm wrong but to me Obama is far more devious than that. He is calculating in his attempts to bring down the country around our ears. His allying with dictators is, I think, not an expression of spinelessness but an expression of the kind of government rule that he approves of. However, I'm of the opinion that this could work out for the better. I'll tell you why, Obama is like a high stakes gamble. If we let him do as he pleases he and his associates could do irreparable harm. I propose that if we continue to press and hold congress at bay until the 2010 elections, then get the right people in to hold the administration at bay till 2012 we will be better off because conservatives have finally woken up. We're no longer content to sit there and yell at the TV screen. We've learned that we can no longer afford to be the "Silent Majority" and that we need to speak out to defend the constitution alongside those elected officials that actually deserve to call themselves Congressmen and Senators. If we're keep at it and if we're lucky, I think America can come away from Obama better off than it was.

Call me optimistic. I know I kind of switched topics but I was writing and it just flowed out.

My opinion of Obama:
He's a recarnation of Lenin and Stalin.
All we need now are some concentration camps, a secret police, and book burning and he will officially be Hitler.

It wouldn't surprise me if we did have book burnings but he doesn't have enough backbone to do anything else. I'm going to go with spoiled and thick-headed.

I think this is a little extreme when you are talking about the condition of the country. If you ask me, the real spineless president was Bush because he caused two wars and screwed up the economy and he was a conservative also. Remember that the problems that Obama is dealing with now are not problems that he caused, it was the previous administration. Do you want a President like Bush who took up bribes and allowed Enron to steal millions of dollars from the people. Do you all remember the blackouts that we happening in California. Enron stole 30 billion dollars from the State. Now that's a presidency that I want again.

I'll agree with you as far as Bush was a terrible president. But the current administration deserves scrutiny for making problems worse. You cannot fix wasteful spending with, well, more wasteful spending. you cannot spend your way out of debt. and he has done little to stop the erosion of our liberties.

What liberates has he eroded? I am not a huge Obama supporter because there are things that I do not agree with him on like expanding nuclear energy, but he has not really eroded the liberties of the nation. He has actually taken some sort of an initiative to amend the problems. I agree on criticizing some of Obama's actions but the people are getting idiotic calling him a communist. Seriously, people need to start educating themselves on the truth. It's making me sick already.

It is going to far to call him a communist, but it seems about right to label him as a European style social democrat (socialist).

As for personal liberties, he just simply hasn't stopped the erosion. Guantanamo is still open, Don't ask don't tell is still in place, the war on drugs is still on. the group of Nazis known as the FCC still censors communication, the EPA is threatening to go around congress and the constitution .

just to name a few

He is not a communist but he is putting us on the road there with all his socialist ideas.
Did any of you read the CNN article about how Obama is not a socialist but Sarah Palin is?

What's wrong with socialist ideas? Capitalism is the real problem...socialism does not mean antidemocratic government.
