Life Is Precious!

Awaiting Life

Content to be here for now,
safe and sound in this quiet space.
I rest in the palm of His hand
as I sleep in this peaceful place.

And yet a gentle voice fills my ears.
Another voice deep and strong.
I yearn to feel their embrace.
I yearn to belong.

Boldly I asked if I can leave and join the world outside.
He says, “The time has not yet come, my child.
Stay here a little longer. Patience.
My work is almost finished.”

And so I wait, impatient now for that day to come,
when I shall see the light
and be warmed by their love,
the day when I am born.
