Okay. Here are 10 well thought out, creative reasons why our beloved Emily
from The Corpse Bride is very similar to Princess Aurora
of Sleeping Beauty.
These are similar traits between their personal characteristics, physical traits, scenerios and movie backgrounds:

1.) The Corpse Bride as we know it is considered have a gothic flare because of Tim Burton's wonderful demented, abstract twist of making all the objects look crooked, malignant and dark yet beautiful in its own way (examples- the background of the forest Emily was burried in where the trees seemed to be dark and twisted and the artwork of Emily's long, frayed, slender wedding dress) The artwork pretty much speaks for itself...
Not many people know this but Disney's Sleeping Beauty is also considered to have a gothic flare to it. The animators created Sleeping Beauty's animated world with mostly abstract vertical and horizantal lines with a few twists here and there to make the background completey lifeless- somewhat resembling medievil gothic backgrounds in tapestries.
So in conclusion: Sleeping Beauty and The Corpse Bride are both gothic in their own way.
2.) Emily from the Corpse Bride was to remain in deathly repose until her "true love" came to take her away and marry her (or in her case, accidentally proclaim their vows to her). Aurora from Sleeping Beauty was to remain in death-like repose until her Prince Charming came to awaken her with a kiss.
The two were eventually awakened- Aurora by her Prince Philip and Emily by Victor.
The two characters were obviously in some sort of dormant state to wait for their "Prince charming" to awaken them in their movies.
3.) Emily's dress is quite slender and long flowing from her waist as if flowing from her very soul and has a few ripped pointed edges (not at all puffy or big like other Victorian dresses such as Victoria or Disney's Cinderella). Aurora's dress is the same, seeing she is about the only Disney princess with a slim dress; she also has three pointed edges around the waist of her dress that looks like a three edged leaf clover. Emily and Aurora both have slim, similarly styled dresses.
4.) Emily's hair langth ends to the middle of her back in tight curls, twists and tangles. So does Aurora's in softer curls. Their hair lengths are basically the same.
5.) For about some part of the movie, Aurora expiriences unrequited love when she sings "I wonder". Emily expiriences unrequited love when she finds out Victor is already engaged to Victoria and sings "tears to shed".
6.) lmao this is the funniest reaosn of them all-
Out of all the Disney Princess, everyone used to refer to Princess Aurora not by her real name nor her woodland guise name (Briar Rose), but by the actual title name- Sleeping Beauty.
The same goes for Emily. Not many people refer to Emily as "Emily" but by the title name- Corpse Bride.
7.) Both characters prove to be true romantics as they seek romance in both their movies, find it and fall complteley in love with their own "prince charming. (the only difference is that the love relationship with Emily and Victor is a one sided one; Victor does not love her back).
8.) Aurora has many animal friends in the dark wood in her movie Sleeping Beauty, Emily has many friends of the dead in the Underworld in The Corpse Bride.
9.) Each character was prophecized to awaken from their "dormant state" in each otheiur movies. Aurora was awakened by true love's kiss which broke the spell for her eternal death like sleep and Emily was awakened by the inadvertant marriage vows of Victor who awoken her from the dead.
10.) They're both really gorgeous!! lmao heart
