Hey everyone! Wrote a review for this game a while ago. Thought I could share it. wink Ofcourse its open for discussion and thoughs about the game as well. ^^

A band I’ve followed for years now. I’ve been to several concerts and been listening to their music on my mp3 before that thing we call Ipod. I’m a fan. And as a fan of the great that’s called Metallica, this review will give you a look in to the game if you yourself is a fan. It’s hard to put myself outside that position.

Guitar Hero games in general are all about the songs in it. In this case it’s all about Metallica and bands that have been a part of their career in some way. The thing that makes this game interesting compared to many other GH games is the bonuses. There are several behind the scene videos, the making of and even live concerts to watch in this game. Added to this is also song information, once you’ve completed the song you can “watch” it and get information about it, when it was recorded, why, back story and so on. All of this adds up to the games worth. Again if you’re a Metallica fan all of this will make you smile and beyond.

Now to the actual gaming; there are not a lot of songs in this game, this will become dead clear once you’ve played it to the end three… four… five times. But it’s not really a negative thing here, the songs are well picked and I must say, very well fitting for GH. For the first time in a good long time, I’ve been digging it while playing the songs (Metallica songs and the rest as well!). This really helps when you just want to play for your enjoyment.

I wish I could say that I’ve played it as a band at home and been enjoying the game with some friends (something I really believe in for this game). It’s a party game that can be fun with friends but also alone which is a very very good thing. Then again, if you need goals to keep yourself interested, the achievements in this game are well balanced. A few complicated once but none of which is impossible to complete, something I really had a problem with in the old GH games.

If you want one of the best Guitar Hero games out there, Guitar Hero Metallica was made for you. It’s a bit smaller but with a lot of bonuses and extra material. You have the option to play as a band with your friends and rock out to some of the best metal songs written. You will not regret getting this game if you’re already a GH fan.

Up i love the game. I agree the songs are well picked but I wish there was more. stare
Ehh it gets hard playing on expert, mainly the solo part. Im just not fast enough.

I would have to say some of the metallica songs are hard, but i can play alot of them on expert. That is a great game to play. I'm glad they made it.

i haven't played the full game, only the demo. which i will admit was pretty sweet. the way the screen shakes in sad but true and various other new things. sadly, the demo isn't enough for me, and i look forward to purchasing GH: Metallica, as the demo was fairly easy (on expert) but then again, it's just a demo. biggrin

I own this game and let me tell you, I love it to death. The songs really are well picked and extremely fun to play. Overall the game is awesome playability-wise. The story-mode was kind of stale, but in this case it's the music that overrides that tenfold. Will give some advice, though:
If you're just starting out on Expert or you're an intermediate Expert player, this game WILL be challenging.

But that's the good thing about this. Take this challenge from me and see if it works.

If you are just starting out on Expert or are an intermediate Expert player, play this game until you can hit most of the notes. Go into Practice Mode if you have to. Then when you get 90% or higher on every song you play, grab your Guitar Hero: World Tour game. Bet you gold that you can beat the hell out of those songs now since you've mastered Guitar Hero: Metallica. It WILL take a lot of time to get to that point, but take it from me. I've been playing guitar games since before there even was Guitar Hero. And been an Expert player since the first Guitar Hero. All I can say is you've got to practice till your fingers bleed.

Btw, for any of you people who are wondering or people that will try to be funny, yes. I do actually play the guitar. Can play a lot of Metallica's songs as well. Including Hit The Lights, Disposable Heroes, and Creeping Death.

All in all, this is a great Guitar Hero game. Fast, difficult songs, and good to play to build your skills because of its difficulty. Also, I find this game really good for building control, speed, rhythm and strength for playing an actual guitar. Granted it's not the same almost entirely, but it does help with that.

Put down your other Guitar Hero games and pick this up if you can. Highly recommended.

Oh yeah, if you didn't know by now, there is a cheat code on each system that unlocks the character skins of the band from the 80's. Just look up on Google and search for Guitar Hero: Metallica cheat codes . Loved that they had this. Kind of funny when you see the current Metallica skins singing just like they did in the 80's. XD

I agree. Just playing the other Guitar Hero games i was kind of at a plateau but GH:Metallica really forced me to step up my game to beat some of the songs. Then when I go back to playing other games (Rock Band 2 for example) I full combo almost every song.

I thought the game was totally awesome. 3nodding

I'm glad Guitar Hero: Metallica was made cause Rock Band has to be an a** and still Guitar Hero's spotlight. D<

No offense to Rock Band lovers.
