The meeting with the Azoulai twins had left Syrelia rattled, extremely so. Being pregnant she could believe, but that those two kids had gone to seek her out and bless her children? Possibly even caused their conception? That made every alarm bell go off in her head and, in some ways, the witch lived in denial about her pregnancy.
She went to her doctor's visits, her friend Leona more than happy (and very excited about the idea of Syrelia having wee ones) to ferry her to and from their farmhouse to the doctor's office. Lily had nearly jumped for joy at the thought of having two little siblings.
Months passed. Syrelia's stomach grew larger, there were ultrasounds, pokes with needles, lots of kicking (both babies seemed to enjoy playing organ soccer) until the day came that her water broke and it was time to be rushed to the hospital. The whole way, all Syrelia could think was: are they going to be okay? Am I going to be okay? Oh gods, please don't let them shoot flame from their eyes.
The delivery itself went smoothly and a good few hours after being admitted, at two-fifteen on the morning of June 17th, Syrelia was left exhausted in her bed, holding two squalling, chubby boys. Each had two eyes, two ears, a nose, a mouth, and the correct number of limbs (though on Gaia, that didn't seem to matter all that much) and both were fine, were healthy. Perfectly healthy and not a single flame in sight, thank every god there ever was or will be.
There was a light rap on the door and Syrelia called a hoarse 'come in.' Lily poked her head into the room, eyeing the two crying things in her mother's arms, though they were now quieting down. The twelve-year-old offered a tentative smile and timidly came in, shutting the door behind them. "Are those them, momma?"
The witch grinned. "Yup, these little guys are it. Your new siblings."
Lily came closer and leaned over the two babies, staring down at them with wide-eyed curiosity. They had gone over this kind of thing recently in an optional health class at her school, but it was completely different seeing it in real life. Mom had come into the hospital, mom was leaving with babies.
After a moment, Lily crinkled her nose and looked to Syrelia, "They're all wrinkly and weird looking. ...Can I hold one?"
"They're supposed to look that way. At least you didn't see them covered in goo a bit ago," Syrelia laughed and the disgusted look that went across her adopted daughter's face, carefully shifting one of the babies in her arms to her the girl. "Hold him careful and watch his head."
The second the boy was in Lily's arms he quieted down, blinking up at her with groggy, gold-orange eyes. Lily let out a little giggle of pleasure, pleased she had such a reaction with her new sibling. He seemed to like her. "What are you going to name them?"
Syrelia paused to contemplate before a slow smile spread across her face. "Gavin," she said, looking from the baby in Lily's arms to the one in her own, "and Noah. Gavin and Noah."

The house had been left abandoned for quite some months, devoid of all signs of life from within. Syrelia and her four children had left, to where God only knows, but something now seems to be stirring...
In front of the door, shapes shimmered and five disheveled figures appeared.
Syrelia, Lily, Gabrielle, Noah, and Gavin -- the entire Ind family stood on the front porch of the house. The matriarch of the family gave a huge sigh, looking to her brood. "Now remember. When a demon offers you candy, what do you say?"
In unison, the children replied: "No!"
"Good," Syrelia grumbled, waving a free hand through the air. More things around the house shifted, infinitesimal in their notability -- protection spells and lots of them. One didn't make it to be a near three hundred-year-old witch without garnering some enemies here and there.
The family stepped inside, greeted by cobwebs and dust. "Lily, could you get the broom please? I'm going to put the little ones down for a nap and we can get started on cleaning things."
The older girl nodded, scampering off.
Syrelia sighed, taking a seat on the dusty couch, a cloud of it flying up as she thuwmped down, cuddling the toddler and two babies to her. She wasn't entirely sure how long they had been gone or if it even mattered in the world of Gaia, but it meant it was time to call her friends, make sure they were okay, and see if they wouldn't mind helping her move.
First she would call Thali, her closest friend on Gaia. Didn’t she have kids here, too? This only caused the woman to sigh again -- they had to have been worried. There’s no doubt about it. She remembered that Thali’s girls and her boys had been fairly close. Things were still messed up in her mind and she had to shake her head to clear it. In her lap, Noah stirred, napping now, and Gavin contentedly blew spit bubbles. Gabrielle had crawled free and meandered off, gone chasing after her older sister.
How close she had come to losing them all, damn that a*****e to the pits of hell. Tears stung at the corners of her eyes as she hugged her babies closer. Soon. They’d be out of this house soon and she’d make the spells stronger, work harder to keep her expanding family safe.
Syrelia got up, taking Gavin and Noah up to their old room and tucking them in. Poor things. Afterwards, she went to find Lily and Gabrielle, helped them to clean, and then later that night, she picked up the phone to give her friends a call.
