Hello, Agent Crimson here with a report on how Gaia's Site Feedback feels about the new "sponsored" ways to obtain Gaia cash.
For those who have not heard, Gaia cash can now be obtained in large amounts by completing free offers that other websites are offering. Sounds good in the long run, especially for users who can't afford to buy Gaia cash. However! A lot of these sponsors that Gaia is offering this to are reputed to give out spyware, trojans, etc, bringing your computer into a hell that it may have never been to before. And another large group of these sponsors ask for credit card information, something that the large populace of Gaians do not feel comfortable releasing.
So GiB, how do you feel about this? Are you peeved that Gaia maybe teaming up with notorious websites? Or are you pleased that there is a way to obtain Gaia Cash.

One thing that makes it hard is the number of offers available. While a lot are reported, a lot more had actually been banned before the release. Though you're right, we could have done a better job. We are not relying on users to report us the bad offers, we hope that we can get rid of almost all of them ourselves.

To be honest, I view it as a double edged sword. I think Gaia's doing this as a way to ease up on the Cash dependancy for us, however, they should be more carefull about the offers they make. Granted, they can't be held responsible for what happens, but...they should try at least.

An interesting argument that I read regarding the large amounts of Gaia cash now being released.
Large amounts of Cash = Large amounts of items from cash shops being bought. (Fish, EIs, etc etc.)
Now, many users buy with the intent to sell for gold, but with more items being introduced into the marketplace, and a constant demand. Wouldn't the marketplace prices for cash items deflate?

Because of this, I think Gaia really is heading towards the p2p area. Many depend on cash to get their gold, and that will cause mass inflation, and those who work for their gold can't keep up.

Eh, I don't usually trust stuff like that on any other site and just because it's on Gaia doesn't mean I'm going to start.
And anyway, I usually pay actual money for my Gaia Cash to help support Gaia in some way.

I'm personally more worried about the possibility of spyware. I was going to sign up for netflix, until I noticed that I wasn't on the netflix site. It was a promotional site that supposedly gives you cash once you complete the offer. That kinda worries me, since there's the possibility they could steal my login information for Netflix, as well as my credit card information, etc.

It's ********' bullshit.
I filled out some of the free ones that -don't- ask for credit s**t and I didn't get any cash and just a ******** mailbox full of ******** you, Gaia.
I'll never have Gaia Cash.

If everyone ends up spending thier money in the market place, at least 2% of all that is taken from the system. Either way, this will have an effect on the Gaian Economy.
