This thread contains, in order, the list of Arcana, the list of available skills (including power levels), and important Summoner information.



About the Arcana: Each Persona is given the attribute of one of the many Arcana, each of which has its own symbols. Canon characters already have a chosen one; new characters should have their Arcana chosen based on what most closely matches their personality.

NOTE: The Fool, The World, and The Universe are special Arcana, and as such are unable to be chosen freely.



0: The Fool

The Fool represents, innocence, divine inspiration, madness, freedom, spontaneity, inexperience, chaos, and creativity.


I: The Magician

User Image

The Magician Arcana is commonly associated with action, initiative, self-confidence, manipulation, and power; more specifically, the power to harness one's talents.


II: The Priestess

The Priestess Arcana is a symbol of hidden knowledge or other untapped power, wisdom, female mystery and magic.


III: The Empress

User Image

The Empress represents prosperity, creativity, sexuality, abundance, fertility and comfort, most often in helping maintain peace around them like an ideal mother would.


IV: The Emperor

The Emperor symbolizes the desire to control one's surroundings, and its appearance could suggest that one is trying too hard to achieve this, possibly causing trouble for others; some elements in life are just not controllable.


V: The Hierophant

The Hierophant is a symbol of education, authority, conservatism, obedience to rules and relationship with the divine.


VI: The Lovers

The Lovers Arcana initially represented two paths life could lead to, and thus a symbol of standing at a crossroad and needing to make a decision. Today, however, it is portrayed more of a symbol of love and romantic relationships, although it can also be a symbol of finding agreement with an ordinary friend or even two conflicting elements within.

The Death Arcana symbolizes metamorphosis and deep change, regeneration and cycles.


XIV: Temperance

The Temperance Arcana is a symbol of synthesis, prudence, harmony, and the merging of opposites.


XV: The Devil

The Devil Arcana represents a healthy bond or commitment. The negative aspect of the Devil Arcana represents the urge to do selfish, impulsive, violent things and be slave to ones' own impulse and feelings. Occasionally, it is also portrayed as a symbol of temptation.


XVI: The Tower

The Tower Arcana is commonly associated to overly arrogant, prejudiced and authoritarian organization, which walk to their own ironic demise. Furthermore, it is also more generically used as an omen of doom and disaster.


XVII: The Star

The Star Arcana is associated with hope, self-confidence, faith, altruism, luck, generosity, peace and joy.


XVIII: The Moon

The Moon Arcana is associated with creativity, inspiration, dreams, madness, illusions, fear, fantasy, the subconscious, and trickery.

On Summoners:

Summoners are somewhat different from Persona Users. To begin with, Summoners will not develop a Persona, even if somehow thrown into the TV World and subsequently rescued. However, they are capable of controlling and subduing spirits of many kinds, as well as calling them out to battle once they have been stored in a Tube designed for the purpose. Tubes are included with the characters. Certain advantages, disadvantages, and restrictions do apply to Summoners, including:
1. Only one spirit outside of battle can be out of their tube at any given time. Certain areas, notably the Kuzunoha Estate at the Port Island, are exempt from this rule, but ONLY these areas are considered such.
2. Kuzunoha may call only two spirits to battle, and any more results in unconsciousness and the spirits vanishing; spirit is defined here as 'the contents of one Tube'. Other Summoners, without training from a Kuzunoha in the RP itself, are restricted to one spirit.
3. Whatever the true level of Summons, they start off at a lower level. The Kuzunoha (of which there should only be three; Raidou, Geirin, and Kyouji), as the Yatagarasu's best according to the story in the Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner universe, begin at Level 40, and all other Summoners begin at Level 30. One technique should be locked for every ten levels the spirit is lowered. Ten levels and one technique will be regained for each spirit after a major battle that the user participated in; normal Summoners, additionally, should not have their spirits' true levels exceed 70.
4. No more than seven spirits may be held in the tubes that Summoners use, at least initially; it is possible that more may be acquired, but it should not be planned on. HOWEVER, upon achieving Max Rank in The Fool as a Social Link, the eighth Tube may be filled, or replaced by a Demon Form (See below).
5. Spirits are limited to eight skills maximum, unlike the twelve of Persona-users or the ten of the Demon Form.
6. Non-Kuzunoha Summoners do not necessarily have to serve the Yatagarasu, and may instead choose to be Dark Summoners that either oppose the Yatagarasu or want to be left alone. Kuzunoha, however, are required to serve the Yatagarasu. Questions about this organization should be directed to Rednal.

This new ability is called the [Demon] Form, which is a unique transformation available ONLY to Summoners of the highest order after a MAX Fool S. Link. 10. Summoners are known to have some slightly more miscellanious abilities used in their line of work, including:
Power Sensitivity - The ability to sense concentrations of spiritual power. Even among those talented here, however, it's more of a general sense than anything else, and it can be fooled by some individuals.
Mind Reading - Certain Summons are capable of allowing the Summoner to read minds; those with training (including all Summoners) can block this from being used on them fairly easily, but not everyone who's strong can do the same, since preventing it is a specific technique not widely known. Best used on a willing subject to transfer information quickly, especially if it's sensitive and shouldn't be overheard. However, it's very difficult to detect when the user is skilled. While in theory it can be useful for combat, one shouldn't rely on it against notably stronger opponents, since if they do figure things out, tricking the user of this technique isn't very hard, even if blocking them is.
Shapeshift - Other Summons are capable of granting the Summoner the ability to look like somebody else; a body part, such as hair or nail clippings, is necessary, and such disguises are in fact quite tough to see through.

Some Backstory:

The room was fairly quiet as the two adults took their seats, clearly somewhat apprehensive. Not unexpected, perhaps, considering exactly why they were there. Through a one-way window, a simple turn of their heads to the left and any of the adults could look in on the reason they were there.

"I'm very sorry, but we simply can't do it anymore." the Principal of the school said, sighing heavily. "I'm afraid this isn't the environment your daughter needs to reach her full potential." the daughter, at that moment, was happily doodling flowers on a piece of paper that had been provided, giggling occasionally as she did so. Her parents looked at each other for a moment.

"We know she's always had... a little trouble focusing." the father ventured cautiously. "Are you trying to tell us that she's... well... stupid?"

"What?" the principal asked, blinking. "No, not at all. In fact, Mr. Ansul, your daughter is quite probably the smartest person I have ever met, and I went to Tokyo University. 'Brilliant' doesn't even begin to cover it. She started First Grade three months ago with the appropriate coursework, and she's already past High School-level material. The problem is that she's bored. You see, she doesn't have any trouble with actually doing what we want her to; the problem is getting her to do it in the first place. It's so far below her capabilities that anything we ask of her is like any of us taking a test asking us to list the numbers from one to ten. It's so easy you don't even have to think in order to do it. The only thing that really gets her to settle down is learning kanji, and her vocabulary, both spoken and written, is already well into college-level; she never forgets how to write a character once she's learned it. I don't know how much longer we'll have anything to teach her; this is an Elementary School."

"So what are you trying to say?" the mother asked.

"I'm afraid we can't handle her." the Principal said. "I wish it were otherwise, especially as Eoria-chan is a very sweet girl who's wonderful to teach when she's paying attention, but we simply don't have the facilities necessary to challenge your daughter on a regular basis. I believe your best option is to homeschool her until she's an adult. Find a tutor who's willing to cover a wide variety of subjects in-depth; several tutors if necessary. She won't have any trouble getting into University, even Tokyo U., but I'm afraid that if she were to attend now, she'd never be able to adjust socially." the parents looked at each other again. "Human interaction isn't something you can learn out of a textbook; there's a reason why we keep children together. But I believe your daughter will, even at the best of times, have difficulty being with others, because there aren't many people who can keep up with her. Many parents wonder what it would be like if their child was a genius; you two get to find out. I believe you'll find that there are more than a few challenges; as soon as she gets bored, her mind wanders off, and keeping her occupied is not as easy as you might think. I've asked my assistant to prepare a folder for you. Even above being a Principal, I am an Educator. I want to see your daughter reach her full potential, and that's why I can't teach her. I don't have the ability to bring out her best. But I think I know a few people who do, and don't worry about the money. There are a few organizations set up that..."

"I can't do this anymore!" the woman shrieked, storming out of the room. "You!" she pointed a finger at Eoria's parents. "She's your daughter; control her!"

"Y-Yuri-san, I know she can be hard to talk to..." Eoria's father began pleadingly.

"Hard? Hard!? It's impossible! She started talking to me in Latin! And before that it was Russian, and before that it was French! I don't even know French! I can't get her to focus for more than two minutes on her assignments!"

"They're not hard enough." Eoria's father tried to explain, wringing his hands anxiously. "I know she should be in Third Grade right now, and many people try to treat her that way, but she's different from other children. I tried to tell you that she needs truly difficult work; math and science problems that even you would have a hard time answering."

"I was the Valedictorian of my year at Kyoto University, and I can barely get her to sit still! You really want my advice? Have another child! Somebody normal! Good day!" the teacher stormed out of the house. Sighing heavily, Eoria's mother looked into the room. The girl was busy scribbling on the wall with a pen. Frowning slightly, the woman looked closer... and recognized, from an old memory, that the small girl was idly writing down problems in differential geometry. Eoria's mother turned back to her husband.

"That was the sixth one." she said quietly. "What are we going to do?" Eoria's father rubbed the sides of his head for a few moments.

"Those computer designs she drew up a few weeks ago... I took them down to a company, and they said they'd never seen the style before. But one of their engineers, somebody who actually makes the things, looked at it for awhile and said it could be done. A thirty-percent better motherboard, he called it. Then he offered me fifteen million yen for them."

"Did you sell it?"

"Of course not." the man answered curtly. "They're a small company; if they're willing to pay that much, better to see if I can sell it to a large company. I think what we need to start doing is sell some of the things she comes up with, after patenting them, to give the girl a steady income. And we'll use some of that income to hire the very best; internationally, if we must. Nothing else is going to suit the girl. We don't need somebody academically gifted to teach her, we need somebody who's like her, and we can't afford them if we don't use her talents. I know she's still just a child, but isn't it fitting that the product of her efforts will reward her?"

"...Is there anyone like her?"

"There are six billion people on this planet." the father said determinedly. "There has to be someone who can teach her properly."

"Mr. Ansul?" a grave voice said.

"Y-yes?" the man asked, looking at the gentleman in the dark suit. The visitor was rather tall for a Japanese man, and muscled a little below the level of a bodybuilder. "You're not from the Y... Ya..."

"The Yakuza? No, I am not." the visitor answered calmly. "The first parts of our organizations' names are similar, though. I represent a special interest group called the Yatagarasu. We understand that your daughter is very smart, but having some difficulties focusing, and we hope to be able to help her. May I see her?"

"I... I... of course." the girl's father said, stepping back and opening the door somewhat more. "She's playing in the study room. I can't get my hopes up anymore; we've looked everywhere for someone who could help, all of Europe and Asia and even America, but you're welcome to try. It can't hurt, I suppose, but I don't expect much to come out of it. Please don't take it personally if she doesn't pay much attention to you."

"It won't be a problem." the large man said, inclining his head politely before removing his shoes and walking into the side room. A few minutes later, he emerged again, nodding. "I see the stories did not exaggerate... if anything, they were an understatement. I believe we may be able to help her somewhat, and Raidou should be able to teach her something new, but first, there are a few things we need to talk about..."

"I never really thought we'd get here." Eoria's father said, sighing heavily. "She's really starting to grow up, isn't she?"

"It feels like a lifetime, but it wasn't even ten years. I'm amazed that we managed to raise her this well." the girl's mother agreed, staring up at the wall. Their house had subtly improved over the last few years, as they purchased upgrades with the money from their daughter's steady stream of patents. In fact, neither of them even had to go to work anymore; they both devoted all the time they could to raising their daughter, who was now the breadwinner of the family... not that the girl seemed particularly aware of this. Or maybe she was, and just didn't pay any attention to it. It was often difficult to tell what the girl was thinking; most of the time, people thought of a field of flowers and butterflies as an excellent representation of her mind, but on rare occasions, her thoughts were focused enough, and she'd scribble down an idea that would turn out to be worth millions of yen, seemingly barely aware that she was doing it. Nobody really seemed to understand her, and she hadn't settled down much as she'd grown up. "We've been so busy every day... it's only thanks to those Yatagarasu people that we managed. What do you think about a vacation?"

"A vacation?"

"Yes. I love Japan, but I think it would do Eoria some good to go out and experience new things. Maybe a cruise in the tropics, where she can see things she's only ever read about before. A celebration, since she's finally going to University." the woman said. Both she and her husband chuckled. The Universities had known about the girl for a number of years now, but she hadn't been old enough to attend properly. Not that the girl was going to the campuses anyway; she was having all the work sent to her online, except for the occasional use of the labs that she was going to travel for. The girl was slated for Doctorates in Astrophysics, Law, and Number Theory, all of which were subjects she was very good at. Well, she was 'very good' at any subject they set before her, but those three were among her very best... on the unfortunately rare occasions they could actually get her to focus on them, anyway. Even with that level of coursework, the girl's mind wandered more often than not. "She'll get to interact with some new people elsewhere in the world, and she's fluent in so many languages that we should be able to get by anywhere. It'll be good for her to socialize... and us. Everybody needs a break sometime, after all."

"You're right, honey." her father agreed. "And I admit that I'd like a change of pace. We'd best start preparing. I'll get started on the arrangements here; pick whatever sort of vacation you want." there was a muffled 'boom' from the kitchen, and as smoke drifted out of the doorway, they sighed heavily. "And order a new oven, please. I wish she wouldn't experiment with new foods in the kitchen..."

"I know, I know... it's lucky for us that she makes more than enough to pay for it. I hate to think of stifling her creativity; it seems so wrong. Eo, dear! Your father and I have something we'd like to talk to you about!"
