Hey everyone! (Am I allowed to post a new topic...Hope so.)
I noticed we didn't have a book discussion topic or movies or anything. So I'm making one. If anyone has read a book or seen a movie that can scare the wits outta us and is about ghosts, let us know! Post your ghostie loving hearts out! blaugh

Other than The Exorcist and The Omen (original film, not the remake) i'de recomend the Evil Dead series (even though Army of Darkness is a comedy...it's still awesome)

as far as books go, read The Exorcist (the movie is actually an adaption of the book, and the book is even more twisted). Also another good book would be the comic book series Hellblazer (which was adapted into a not at all faithful to the source material movie "Constantine"), especially the story "Dangerous Habits"

There's a cool book called Skeleton Creek, and it's like a journal written by a dude named Ryan. He had his leg broken and is now almost a prisoner in his own home, and secretly writes in his journal, and sends e-mail to his friend whom he is forbidden to talk to because of what happened to his leg. In the book, there's mention of a dredge and a ghost named Old Joe Bush. Joe worked at the dredge and died there, everyone says he "wasn't careful" and was pulled into the dredge, and died. (You gotta read the book and watch the movies with it online. So cool!)

I was going to start my own topic about a book I'm reading but then I saw your topic so figured I may as well post it here. cat_biggrin

Has anyone read Corey Taylor's (singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour) book that was recently released entitled, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven: (Or, How I Made Peace with the Paranormal and Stigmatized Zealots and Cynics in the Process)"? I bought the e-book after I heard him interviewed about it on the Preston and Steve radio show in Philly.

It's a great book with all kinds of ghost stories - personal experiences that happened to Corey and stories his friends have told him. I had no idea he was into the paranormal and he actually seems like he may have some kind of pull for spirits because he's been having experiences all his life.

I have about 90 pages left to read and I was wondering if anyone else read it, how they liked it. The only problem I have with the book is that he didn't publish any pictures, at least not in the e-book version. He says he has photographic proof of some of the things he's experienced and I thought, well why not put the photos in the book? And that's not really a complain, just more of a wish. cat_mrgreen
