Back a couple years ago, I remember when cell phones were a luxury item. My parents had one, but we only used it on the road and mostly kept it just so that we wouldn't get stranded anywhere.

When I was in driver's ed, the only distraction they taught us about was having the radio up too loud to hear oncoming traffic, having annoying friends/people in the backseat making a scene, and that's basically it.

Now they are using driving simulators to see how kids drive while texting. I mean ******** seriously. Sure, I text, but why the ******** would you do it while driving a moving vehicle.

This dumb b***h was like WELL I GUESS I KNOW IT'S DANGEROUS AND I'LL TRY NOT TO DO IT TOO OFTEN BUT I DON'T THINK I CAN STOP TEXTING WHILE DRIVING.

I honestly hope that she dies slowly and painfully. Preferably by getting rear ended because she had to text her friend since it was SO IMPORTANT TO TELL THEM SOMETHING RIGHT NOW THAT SHE COULDN'T WAIT UNTIL A REDLIGHT OR HER DESTINATION.

WHO THINKS IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO:
-DRIVE WITH ONE HAND AS A SHITTY DRIVER
-DRIVE LOOKING AT SOMETHING THAT ISN'T THE ROAD (??????????)
-DRIVE WHILE TEXTING??

Yeah, I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 18. <_< Now you see like 10 year olds and s**t with them. "Gotta text ma peeps" and s**t. I think.

There were a bunch of 6th graders in one of the public schools here with Sidekicks. On the news, doing some stupid show about bullying or something. They apparently bully through texting their friends now, also 6th graders have myspaces and s**t.

Ofc I have an iPhone now, which after getting I don't think I could live without. It makes me look cooler and more in tune with today's society because I can use buzz words like 3G, smart phone, and I can't think of another cool word I can use now. But I'm cool now.

I think.

Unfortunately I think my contract overlaps the time I'm going to be spending in Japan. Hooray! burning_eyes

A guildie of mine wrote about a car accident, where the driver was writing an SMS while driving. Of course he missed the red light, and of course another car crashed into the side of his car. His girlfriend died, and their 1 year old kid on the backseat got injured. Now, I sure hope he is gonna think about what he did, thinking about she was only 19 years old, now dead, and their kid without a mother, 'cus dad is an idiot.

I got my first cell phone when i moved out about 5 years ago. It was my moms old model, and she gave it to me 'cus she wanted to keep in touch with me every day. My second was also my moms, until I got sick of it and bought my own about 3 years ago. My boyfriend keeps nagging me about buying a new one, but it still works, and I ain't gonna get a new one before it breaks into pieces. Having the newest of the new is not that important to me, it just has to work, and do what I need. Got camera, laptop and PC for all other stuff than texting and yapping.

The small kids walking around with cell phones make me think about what to do when my own boy wants a cell phone aswell, he already enjoys using mine for talking with his granny. I guess I'm gonna buy him one when he can spell, and then give him a limited amount of money he can talk and text for every month.

Cell phones are like cars and other neat inventions, you actually don't need them, but somehow you can't live without them either. Ever felt naked when forgetting your cell phone somewhere, even when you don't need to talk or text anyway?

I only use my phone to text my girlfriend, that's about it. Oh, and to check the time and use as an alarm clock.
I don't use it constantly because I still have a real social life, where I see my friends in real life more then I text them.

In effect Oct 1st in Arkansas, it'll be illegal to drive while talking or texting on phone. <(^.^)> And I am sooooo happy about it!

I thought driving while texting/talking had been illegal for ages throughout the US? I swear it was illegal in Maryland before I left and that was like 6 years ago.

I did not own a cell phone until I got a job. It was because I needed to be available for some times. I now use my phone for my mp3 player, a quick camera in case my car gets into a wreck (and to keep pics of my cute kitty) and to call now. I don't text. I don't believe in it.

And, it is illegal in my state to be on the cell phone while driving (loophole, speakerphone or headset). Yet I see people texting and holding their cell phones to their heads while driving. I find it crazy.

What I saw last week: a kid on something (I couldn't tell if it was a PSP or a phone) and he WALKED straight into oncoming traffic on a busy street. Now that's scary...I nearly wanted to scream at the kid.

And I just figured out...I am getting old.
