 7.1.06 :: Wow, it's been a while. eek Huh. Anyway! I'll be setting up the last little bits of the front page today, but the big announcement is...:
All "Journal" entries that refer to something outside of the journal have links! If the entire entry is about one RP event, then the link is the entry title. If not, there are little links scattered throughout the entry, on lines that can give you an idea of what RP it is. 4laugh So!
4.27.06 :: Still need to write up a bunch of stuff. gonk Oh well. I'll get that done sooner or later. Anyway. Lorelei actually has a wagon! I was planning on changing all the banners, but then I realized I'd need to change everything's color scheme, as the wagon's name is Ivy-Twined, unless somebody comes up with a better one. xd So. Since the front page is, technically, Lor's journal, and since she periodically writes entries, I'm keeping the title. 3nodding But RPwise, this counts as a wagon. Confused yet?

Physical Description: Lorelei is 5'3". Her skin is pale as though untouched by sun, speaking volumes about her isolation from the outside world. She has slightly wavy, thick red hair the she usually braids off to one side. Her normal garb these days is the one blue dress she ran away from home in, patched up, along with a few items gifted to her by various caravan members, mismatched and simple.
History: Lorelei comes from a Port Tempranillo merchant class background. Her father, Gregor Serin, was successful and very, very traditional. Lorelei and her mother had almost no say in any matter other than the discharge of household duties, and even those were carefully defined and controlled.
At age 18, Lorelei first met Shamira Drana, a gypsy from a troupe that had set up inside the city walls. In the short time allotted to them, they became fast friends. Whenever possible, they arranged meetings, Lorelei delighting in the freedom afforded by breaking her father's rules. They quickly fell in love, and Shamira suggested that they flee the city. Shamira's troupe would not stand for it, and so, one night, Shamira and Lorelei stole out of the city alone, with but one horse that died on the trail.
A short time ago, a bedraggled Shamira and Lorelei stumbled upon Valelldia's caravan, and were quickly accepted and brought into the circle. Shamira came to possess a bag of zils, or small cymbals, but left them to Lorelei when she mysteriously disappeared one night a few months ago. Nothing has been heard from her since.
Lorelei lived with Voltaire and Annjette for a few months while she learned how to care for a wagon - and a daughter. Now that the bag of zils had transformed into a small bird (and as that bird was almost certainly to become a small girl), this was a good skill to know.
After an encounter with a down-on-her-luck trader by the side of the road to the Highland Gelms, Lorelei found a new home - a wagon of her very own, complete with a beautiful horse named Caelebre. Later that day, when she (and the rest of the caravan) ran into the trader, she was given, as a gift of thanks, a blue Banya Bird named Aleysius.
Lorelei later found that a ghost of sorts was living in her wagon. After weeks of trying to live with it - punctuated by an eventful stay in Seinheph, where she helped reunite a broken family - Lorelei finally gave in and asked Oqaia to help. Oqaia gave Lorelei a spell to summon assistance. The help came in the form of an old man named Koran. The exorcism was dangerous and trying, but was successful.
During the trials of the ghost, Lorelei was comforted in the form of a blessing - Vanna grew into a toddler!
After things settled down, Lorelei began to take up her harp once more. She now plays regularly, and Vanna sings along.
Lately, Lorelei and the rest of the caravan ran into another wagon train. Lorelei was approached by a handsome gypsy by the name of Leax. Leax quickly won her heart... or something thereabouts. In fact, Lorelei might have left with him, had it not been for Heather reminding her to care for Vanna.

Name: Shamira Drana

Origin: Born to Lear and Fatin Drana, somewhere on the road between the Aompor plains and the Sheulen woods.
Physical Description: Shamira is around average height, in the 5'6"-5'7" range. She has a dancer's body - toned, slender, but in no way 'skinny'. She eats enough and is constantly working, so an anorexically thin body is out. Her skin is a natural gold, and years spent in the sun have tanned her to a rich brown. Curls of lustrous black hair complement her complexion nicely. On a normal day, she wears colorful, playful clothing with flowing skirts and cropped tops. In colder climbs, she wears lovely hand-knit shawls.
History: Not much is known about Shamira's past. She was born into a traditional gypsy family, with a great number of aunts and uncles. In the midst of this large extended family, however, she had only one brother - who she rarely spoke to, even before leaving with Lorelei.
While entertaining in Port Tempranillo, Shamira caught the eye of the young Lorelei Serin. After her dance was complete, she sought out the girl in the crowd under the impetus that a well-dressed young lady would lead to a well-dressed purse, under the right circumstances. She was prepared to deal with a stuck up, snobby little girl to that end.
What she found was unexpected - Lorelei was intelligent, quiet, and humble. She seemed awestruck by Shamira. Imagine that - a noblewoman awestruck by a simple gypsy woman! They sat and spoke for nearly half an hour before Lorelei spotted her mother and household guards returning. She left hurriedly.
From that day on, Shamira was as obsessed as Lorelei. They sought each other out whenever possible. Shamira talked her caravan into staying longer. Lorelei snuck out - twice. The first time was highly innocent. The second time... was to run away.
Shamira and Lorelei took to the roads, running from tracking dogs and men sent by Lorelei's father. Shamira's family refused to house them, protecting their own hides. Eventually, their horse died on the road. They stumbled their way to freedom - Valelldia's caravan.
Valelldia gave Shamira a bag of zils, along with the assurance that she and Lorelei were more than welcome.
A few months later, Shamira disappeared without a word to Lorelei, leaving behind the zils. Nothing has been heard from her since.

 Name: Vanna Serin  Gender: Female Form: Darkling Infant Abilities: Singing, talking, understanding. Origin: Born from a bag of zils out of her mother's love and desire to remember and honor Shamira. Physical Description: Vanna is small for her age, and rather fey-like. Her skin is a pale purple, and she possesses three brilliantly golden eyes. Her "wings" are simply large feathers, but she doesn't seem to mind. Her hair is a duller, paler purple than her skin, and is silky to the touch. History: Vanna started her life, as it was, as a bag of gypsy cymbals given to Shamira before her disappearance. Left to Lorelei, they were kept at her side for months, unused. From time to time, Lorelei would look at the cymbals, cry, smile sadly... but nothing more. Vanna would have entered the world sooner if only Lorelei had truly recognized that Valleldia's caravan was her home. When Oqaia helped Lorelei to realize that the caravan wasn't just where she had been left behind, but where her new life was destined to begin, and when Lorelei confided that she believed Shamira had already given her love to the child in the zils, there was a flash of light. Vanna was left in its wake. Later, after Lorelei and Vanna had found their true home, Val congratulated the pair with the chance to play on her mother's ocarina. The song, a melding of both Lorelei and Vanna's love and passion to live and sing out, some way, any way, caused Vanna to transform right then and there into an infant.
