"C'mon now." The light at the crosswalk flashed from red to green, and the mass of people moved together to make it to the other side of the street. Tsuji took a look around through narrowed eyes as William's larger hand tugged her along. She stumbled momentarily over the newly-worn but clearly too large jeans (another hand-me-down) but trudged along, albeit with a sulking attitude. "We should look inta gettin' ye one of those." William smirked and nodded towards a young woman with her son in tow, who was wearing a leashed harness. The Ashe child gaped in partial horror as the two went by, and noted the boy's miserable look.. that was something she would never abide by, and decided to show it by sticking her tongue out at William. "Aww, I think it'd be really fitting." She didn't see what was so funny; this was not her idea of a fun time.

"Why'd I have to come with you?" she whined, wrenching her hand free of his and shoving both into her pockets. The older man frowned at her, and reigned in his annoyance. He worked with children, after all - it was a skill he had much practice in. "Why can't I stay home?"

"And leave ye unattended?" He scoffed. "I don't even want to think of the havoc ye'd wreak on the poor house. Besides, I have tae look at computers for the school today - there's no way I'd let ye be there alone. Ye can't always have what ye want."

"You're no fun." She pouted and crossed her arms. It was times like this that she really missed Huan Yi. While she was in school, Tsuji was stuck with William on his days off. Days with him were dull as dirt, and she didn't like how he picked on her, told her to do things, drug her around to different places she didn't want to go.. she had better things to do.

... And if she were to get to those better things, she had to do something fast. She looked up at him carefully as he examined the window displays of an electronics store, engrossed in the task he had ventured out for. With a careful step backwards, followed by another.. then another.. she had mixed into the crowd and took off like a flash. It was exhilarating to get away from William the killjoy, and even as other pedestrians on the sidewalk glared at her as she wiggled and shoved past them, she didn't care. It was about a block down that she heard him calling over the heads of the crowd for her, slight anger coloring his tone.

Disobeying William was always fun.

She peered into the window of the shop behind her through cupped hands. A busy atmosphere awaited inside, where many people sat around computer screens and laptops drinking coffee, while others awaited their orders. With one more glance around, she made a dash inside the internet cafe and slid into the crowd with a giggle.

At least this got her away from him for a little while.

It hadn't been too long since Chath had... hatched, but he was growing at a fairly fast rate. At least compared to that of a human. So that day, Michael had brought the boy to get some better fitting clothes. But neither of the two really cared for wandering around clothing stores for long periods of time.

Seeing how the local arcade had closed down, the next best thing was the internet cafe. It'd at least stop Chath's complaints about how boring the stores were. If only for a short while. It wasn't too hard to keep an eye on the kid there anyway.

Chath was playing some sort of game at the time, when he saw someone rush past him. Glancing to the side, he saw a little girl giggling for some reason. It didn't look like there was anyone with her.

"What's so funny?" he asked.

Tsuji tucked herself behind the window and kept a sharp eye out onto the street. Whenever a head would appear that looked similar to William's, she would duck down just a little, but the grin never left her face. She wondered how angry he was going to be, but dismissed the thought for the momentary excitement.

And then a voice spoke to her. She blinked and whipped her head around for the source, setting her eyes on a boy around her size. Her head tilted at the sight as she looked him over, and her eyes froze on his hair. What bright hair he had!

"Funny?" She blinked, her mind going momentarily blank, before she recalled why she was here. The impish smile returned to her lips. "I'm hiding from someone. But he sucks at looking for me." The smile pulled away from her lips and became a grin. "What're you doing here?" Tsuji leaned sideways to see the game he was playing - she knew next to nothing about computers, but it certainly looked interesting. Imagine, games on computers!

"Is that a game?" As different as it was to her, she thought it a bit boring. Playing games to her required moving around, rather than watching a screen - that couldn't be fun for too long, right?

For a moment, Chath tilted his head as the girl said what was going on. It made him wonder who she was hiding from, but he guessed it wasn't really that important. Maybe it was a friend or something.

As he was about to resume the game, the girl inquired about it. Hesitating momentarily, he nodded before looking back at the screen. From the sounds of things, she might not be too familiar with video games or stuff like that, so he wasn't sure if he should go too in depth.

"Yeah. It's called Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. Kinda a type of strategy game. Not bad... but I'd rather be playing Counter Strike right now..."

It was just by some chance that the computer he used even had the game he currently played, so he wasn't too picky about it. But it would have been nice if there were a few different things available, or at least that was how he felt about it.

"At least I'm not staring around at some dumb clothes or stuff like that."

Warcraft, Counter Strike.. these names were all foreign to Tsuji. But her new friend (or so she called him in her mind) seemed to like them well enough, so they couldn't be entirely that bad, right? Forgetting her cover, she hopped up into the vacant computer chair next to him and swiveled around to face the computer screen.

"I've never played on one of these before." She looked a little weirded out by the contraption. "William has one but he won't let me touch it." She tapped the keyboard idly and was startled when the screen jumped back to the desktop display, still running from the last guest. A chat site was open: lines of text moving up the screen in progression. Immediately her eye was drawn to it, and even though she couldn't read it quite yet, she wondered what the computer was saying.

Now this was interesting.

"I guess." She looked back at Chath when he added the last thought and raised both eyebrows. "You mean buying clothes? I haven't done that yet.. these are all Huan Yi's old clothes. But I bet it's boring to shop for them though." She pulled at the hem of her shirt, and noticed the unraveling stitches. The important thing was that at least she had something to wear, but sometimes she wished for something different - although how different, she couldn't say.

The chat window drew her eye again as the activity increased.

"What's this?" Tsuji pointed at the screen. She didn't want to say outright that she couldn't read it yet (that fact was a little too embarrassingly personal for her to tell her new companion just yet). She hoped he'd read what was on screen to her. "It's going awful fast."

"Really? Wow..."

It surprised Chath to hear that she hadn't worked with a computer before. Then again, he had been around electronics to some extent for his entire life (which really isn't that long so far considering he was literally born months ago).

When the girl hopped up to check out the computer next to him, he glanced over to the side, blinking a bit at the chat that was up. The previous user must have forgotten to log out or something along those lines.

"Yeah.. All of Michael's stuff is too big. Either he's been the same size all his life or he doesn't have the old stuff anymore."

Looking back at the screen at the inquiry, he shrugged a bit.

"That's just a chatroom. Looks like a lot of people are online right now," he started, "Those big chats are usually boring though. But.. it can be pretty fun messing with everyone. See them get all angry and stuff."

Tsuji nodded as she considered what the boy told her. He had seemed amazed that she hadn't used a computer before - he must have been around them a lot where he lives. Moving away from that train of thought, she considered the subject of clothes as she turned herself to and fro in the computer chair.

"New clothes would be fun but I don't want to wait all day in a store." She looked down at the outfit she was wearing, with its bright patterns and glaring colors. The thin spots stood out against the neons. "Huan Yi lets me dress up from some of the stuff in her trunk sometimes but I can't wear them outside 'cause she doesn't want them ruined." She pouted at the memory of such an event two days prior - some Chinese-themed clothing that Huan Yi had owned has a child had grown to be a favorite of Tsuji's but because they were made of silk and very old, her guardian thought it best not to take chances. Tsuji thought it was a shame - better on her than in the trunk.

"A chatroom?" Her thoughts shifted again and she puzzled over the word. Chatroom? Chat... room. Chatting is talking, and a room is a part of a building.. was there some sort of tiny room in the computer where people could talk? The idea sounded stupid - a bunch of people just sitting around talking, probably about things she found terribly boring. But when her newfound friend mentioned how fun it was to mess with people...

"Ooh.. how d'you do that? It sounds fun." The smile on her lips became a grin again as she turned to the screen excitedly. A few of the words she was just beginning to learn stood out, various letters, but it meant nothing to her. She felt a growing itch inside her and swung her legs in excitement. If they were to do this then he'd have to do the reading, but the mischievous little fire had already been sparked inside. "Hey, hey, let's do that.. I wanna see what they do when they get mad."

"Ah.. they must be really nice stuff or something," mused Chath as she mentioned the clothes Huan Yi let her dress up in at times. Though, it did make him wonder what the big deal with fancy clothes was at times.

Shaking his head at the thought, he looked back at the screen while his new friend took in what was said about it. When she mentioned that she wanted to go ahead and mess around with the people in the chat, the boy grinned, and his eyes lit with their own sort of fire.

"One way is to make fun of them or the stuff they're talking about. Another way is to start posting links to these really really nasty pics... But that's better in forums since you can make them see the picture without needing to click on the link... Once they get angry they usually start trying to argue back, getting all high and mighty... but it's nothing really. They don't know who we really are; and they'll never find out!"

Tsuji was practically beside herself with excitement as she listened to him list off different ideas. Generally, the girl was all for making friends and giving a good first impression. However, it was that dangerous mischievous spirit that hid inside that sometimes pushed her to play with people. William had been privy to this treatment quite often (some people were just too easy to pick on), but to be completely unknown and get away with picking and pushing these unknown people's buttons..

Well, it was an opportunity that she couldn't very well miss. Especially not while the itch to play was so persistent!

"I like that!" Her legs swung excitedly as she leaned forward, in the manner of somebody whispering a secret. "We can make them think we're somebody different too.. then switch around on them. That'd be funny!" She turned towards the computer and watched the lines of text race up and down. The few letters and numbers she recognized stood out, but with the rest as gibberish.. she'd be little help in the typing department. But this boy had practically grown up around computers, by the sound of it - he could probably type faster than her anyway.

Now if she could get him to read what was said out loud, then they'd be in business.

"Here, you should type since you're faster." She scooted the chair over so he had room to slide over next to her. "What do we do first?" Tsuji bounced up and down in her seat and looked from the screen to the boy's face. "We need a name or something, don't we?"

At the girl's suggestion, Chath practically beamed at her. He liked her way of thinking. Normally Michael didn't like it when he did these sorts of things, but it really wasn't hurting anyone so he did it anyway. It was a good thing his guardian was busy, even though he was nearby. So, he just scooted closer to the other computer so that he could take control of the keyboard.

"Alright and... yeah we do. It could be anything really. You wanna pick one out?"

As he spoke, he looked over what was being said in the chat, trying to think of some possible things they could start off with. From the looks of it, the people there were talking about some book series dealing with sparkly vampires. This will be easy. Maybe too easy, but it should be good material for his new friend to work with.

"It looks like our victims are Twilight fans. Do you know what that is?"

Tsuji had to think for a moment. It sounded familiar but she couldn't quite place it... ah, there it was. She remembered it was a book series that Huan Yi had strongly disliked, and made a point of complaining about to William. They had watched the movie version out of curiosity's sake, and Tsuji couldn't keep anything in it straight. It was something about sparkling vampires and romance, however those worked together, and the girl had found it completely ridiculous. Huan Yi had told her about vampires before when she had read to her out of a book on fantastic creatures, but the movie characters didn't emulate those qualities at all.

"It's not so much about the books as about what it teaches girls," was something that both Huan Yi and William had said. Tsuji didn't quite grasp it, but her guardians' words on the pitfalls of the series ought to work well enough. And since she didn't properly grasp it, she emulated her mother figure's opinion out of habit, as children are apt to do. At least she had some arsenal.

"Yeah. I saw that movie." Tsuji made a sour face, then turned her thoughts to figuring out a name. "Our name.. will beeee.." She looked at the empty chair to her right. "Chair. Uhm... " Her thoughts scrambled. "Chair-T. My name's Tsuji and Huan Yi says that starts with 'T'. What about your name? We can put the letters at the end of it or something." It sounded silly but it suited their purposes. Silly but still a bit personal. Names should be a little personal, right? Her eyes lit up again excitedly as she gave her new friend a massive cat-like grin.

"So how do we start?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 17, 2009 8:53 am

Chair-T?

It was an interesting name to use in the least, but he didn't really say much about it. It wouldn't really matter a whole lot since it was going to be a temporary thing. But now he also knew what his new friend's name was.

"I'm Chath. That starts with C so... our name will be Chair-TC? As for how we start... we just need to set up our nickname there then we can begin!"

Grinning to match Tsuji's, he went ahead and typed it in for their nickname, then glanced over what was currently being said in the room.

"Hm... right now they're just raving about how 'hot' that Edward guy is. We could probably just start out saying that the series sucks; I hear that usually gets them pretty angry already."

"Hot.. ?" Tsuji reflected on the word. She's run across the word once when they were watching something on television, and Huan Yi had to explain to her about slang words, and how "hot" for a person was different from "hot" the temperature. All of it very confusing really, especially when Huan Yi defined it as being a way to describe somebody attractive.

That word alone prompted another discussion, and even then Tsuji didn't quite understand. Her guardian had said something about being drawn to someone a person found appealing, and wanting to be with them. She had told her that she thought Huan Yi was attractive, but the Chinese girl dismissed what she had said with a wave of the hand and said she would explain it again later.

At any rate, the person these people were talking about, the Edward character, wasn't somebody she would want to be with. That was just strange to her.

"Hmm.." She watched the text jump up and down on the screen. "Hey, start out all nice-like.. like by saying 'hey' or asking what they're talking about. Then when they say what or who it is and how.." She paused, "'hot' he is, then drop the bomb on them! Ooh, maybe say how creepy he is!" She giggled and kicked her legs a little on the edge of the seat. A bunch of mischievous ideas were cropping up as she sat there, waiting for the first response to go out.

Had to light the fire before one could fan the flames, after all.

Silently, Chath was just observing the happenings of the chat room while thinking of how they could start it off. He thought of just going right ahead and start trash talking the character, but Tsuji seemed to have a different idea. After some thought, he figured her suggestion would be better since this was her first time trolling.

"Sounds good to me!" he said with a devious grin, "Alright, let's get started."

Setting his hands onto the keyboard, he soon typed out their first message into the chatroom. After sending the message, he went and said it outloud, though softly.

'hey guys, whats up?'

Tsuji cupped her hands to her mouth as though to suppress the loud, mischievous giggles that threatened to escape. Lucky enough for her he was reading this out loud - it saved her the embarrassment of admitting her lack of reading capabilities. The thought of it tinged her cheeks pink, but given her giggles it could have been easily chalked up to her amusement. She really needed to get on Huan Yi about it when she came home today; it would save her the embarrassment in the future.

"Ohhh, I hope they bite," she mused out loud, her eyes glued to the screen. "I mean I'm sure they will and all but.. I've never done this before so I want it to be good." She began to bounce a little in her seat from the anticipation.

Were they really going to get up in arms about something like this? She'd have to ask Huan Yi as well, when she got home.. although she had to be careful. William was sharp enough to pick up on when she'd been doing mischief. Not that she'd really had the chance yet to cause anyone that wasn't William grief.

"Should we fake them out? That'd be super funny." She grinned. "Like.. bait them and say, 'So what do you guys think about Edward?'" Tsuji tried to settle herself, but she couldn't help feeling a little anxious. She really hoped they did bite!
