Night fell fast in the jungle it seemed. Vestip was suffering from insomnia yet again and he didn't understand why. Double hued eyes shifted this way and that as he made his way through the underbrush, paws crunching sticks to knock out the boredom. There were never any females around this time of night, though, what time it was, he wasn't sure. He was deep in the jungle and when he looked up, he couldn't even see the sky anymore. I wonder what Mawa's doing..? She was nice to sleep with.... Warm even though nothing happened.. Well, not yet. I have a feeling something will. He grinned to himself at those thoughts.
Stopping to give a loud yawn, he stretched out, clawing at the dirt, roots and fallen leaves with his front paws before sniffing a tree. It had a very, very old scent on it. Marking the tree, Vestip figured this would be a good place to actually stop for the night, even if he wasn't going to sleep. One could never be to careful. Just hen the morning rays would hit his face, the red, black, and white male knew he'd be asleep.
Clearing out a space between a couple of big roots, Vestip made himself something of a 'nest' for himself. Licking his lips, he laid down and folded his paws beneath himself, just looking about for now; waiting for morning to come and sleep to claim him.

Only a short time passed before something began to rustle the dense foliage. At first the sound was difficult to place, for the noise of the approaching creature startled some smaller animals and sent them scurrying away, but the source soon became clear: behind Vestip. The jungle fell quiet with the scent of a strange male hanging in the air.
A few moments later a brightly colored male stepped out of the trees and stopped a good distance from Vestip. He had not been in this territory since he was an adolescent. Though most of the males he met in the rogue lands had been more or less friendly, there was always the occasional rogue who would rather gut him for laughs than look him in the eyes, so it paid to be cautious. Besides, he couldn’t see this male very well from where he was standing.

God, he was tired.. Why couldn't he sleep again? He racked his brain trying to figure it out and couldn't. Instead, eyes looked around, noticing how quiet it was and how the world seemed to have stopped moving this moment. What was going on? His brows knitted as he stood up, on alert. His tail stiff, ears back and he was sniffing. He wouldn't be going anywhere, oh, no. Vestip would stay right by his tree. Finally, his eyes stumbled upon a figure. He could make out the white, but the other colors were dulled, but still bright. Oh, crap. Was he near that weird pride again?
"Hello! Come where I can see you.. getting kind of nervous with all this silence!" He called out to the figure. Vestip couldn't make out if it were male or female.

“Hm…” Hero lifted his ears and ambled toward the strange male. The other male’s white coat stood out prominently, so much so that if the moon light struck him he would shine like a star. Hero expected the male to get smaller as he closed in. Surely his size was just a trick of the light.
Maybe not. Taken by surprise, Hero slowed to a stop about ten feet from the other male and quickly put on his best smile. There was no way he was picking a fight with this male. “Evening! Sorry about sneaking up on you, I was wandering around and wasn’t sure if you were friendly or not. My name’s Hero.”

Vestip was a large male, no doubt about it, but he had lean muscles, not big ones. It was his bones that made him big. As the other approached, Vestip grinned a bit and looked the obviously bright one over. He hadn't seen a coat like that before. It was very pretty. And the other had a very nice voice. "Hey there," he purred out, getting a bit closer, comfortable speaking distance, but still within the protective roots of his tree.
"I'm friendly enough, friendlier if you're a girl," he said with a chuckle and a wink. "But I'm not libel to turn down any friends of either sex. Name's Vestip. What's yours, beautiful?" he asked, not really realizing he was using lines.

His tail instinctively went between his legs. Hero was neither above average nor below average in size. In all regards, save color, he was strictly average. He wasn’t sure what this strange male was getting at – he sounded as if he was flirting with a female – but he realized this male could easily control him if he desired. Hero stood a poor chance of fighting him off.
“I-uh… He-Hero?” He said it like a question. What the Hell did I just walk into?

The white male couldn't help but laugh. He was making Hero uncomfortable, the poor boy! He'd obviously never been around a male who swung towards guys, which was alright with him. Vestip would have to remember to tone it down to subtle so the other wouldn't know he was flirting. Get Hero more comfortable and then take advantage of him when he was. The perfect plan for shy females as well.
"Hero..." He bit his tongue at all the remarks he could make about the other's name and then sighed. "It's a strong name for a male," he said instead, nodding as he did. "Don't worry, Hero. I'm not going to jump you or anything. Came off kinda strong and I don't really like making anyone that uncomfortable."
Which was a big fat lie. But Hero didn't know that.

“J-jump me?” What did he mean by that? Hero shook his head. “I think you’re confused…. Maybe I better just go.”
He had no idea what this other male was up to, but he was clearly a little mixed up in the head.

Oh, the poor male. Vestip let a chuckle leave his lips and shook his head quietly. He wouldn't bother explaining to the other. It should have come off as quite obvious. But he was so oblivious. "Nothing, nothing. I won't do anything! But, if you want to go..... I can't stop you." It was a pity. The other male was so pretty. It was more than obvious that Vestip wasn't going to be able to woo this male for a night, but that was fine. There were other fish in the sea, so to speak. Not secure with his masculinity.

Hero’s fur bristled from shoulder to tail but something made him straighten. He wasn’t going to retreat like some cowardly beast of prey. Turning his back on this male seemed like a bad idea, anyway. He grunted and shook out his mane in a very manly fashion and started to walk past the other male, arching a brow at his strange green eyes before he passed into the thick brush. He was far more interested in the pride that was close by.
