((Better image laters))"An old moon in a mist is worth gold in a kist; but a new moon's mist will never lack thirst."
Hiding deep within the valley of the mist lay the Mizuka'nyevu (Mist ghosts), both descendants of the Umande'mfuni, and former pride members seeking to revive the old ways of the pride. Skittish and shy, these lions usually remain hidden from strangers, preferring to maintain their existence but a rumour other prides whisper about. Many outsiders claim these lions have mystical abilities, what with their apparent ability to disappear into the mists like ghosts in the nighttime...

STORY The memories of the past are hard to erase. They haunt people, making them relive horrible experiences - or taunt them by making them relive pleasant ones, only to realize upon waking that everything was but merely a dream.
Aliona and Zuri'laghai had become very much aware of the tricks and foul play said memories could play on mortals and Gods alike. The lands they lived in, slowly flourishing to their true splendor, only reminded them of their parents whom had since passed away, leaving them as the matriarchs of their family. While it was true that Ushaufu had returned to them, he was but merely a shadow of what he'd been before; a cub haunted by the lack of memories from his past life. He struggled to figure out why he cared about the lands he resided within and often time was awakened at night by horrible nightmares he could later either not recall, or understand.
Likewise, the influx of rogues into their land was minimum, to the point the two sisters feared that when their cubs grew up... it would be unlikely they would find mates that were not related to them. Thus, when their dreams showed them a lush, unoccupied valley of mists, both females decided to gather their families and head off for the journey of their lives; an attempt to both survive and escape the memories that plagued them in their former home.
Dreams continued to plague the sisters; even during the journey they founded the ideals they would later teach their families. The dreams showed the lionesses a pride of lions that lived deep within the mists of a valley, hiding from strangers - resembling ghosts to outsiders. A pride that believed deeply in the balance of nature and the well being of others. A pride that valued mind over brute strength. An idea began to form within Aliona's mind; using Ushaufu's powers, they would create their home deep within the valley of mists they were seeking and would revive the pride they had seen in their dreams.
While the journey was long and difficult, it also served them well, for they found many lions willing to embark on their new-found dream. Once they reached the valley where they settled down, the numbers had multiplied to the point the sisters no longer feared for their cubs' futures.
Thus so, the Ghosts of the Mist came to exist within the valley, haunting the jungle and forests at night, lurking the shadows with the grace of spirits. Many believed the lions to be specters, while others denied their existence. However, word has since rung out through the Savannah that the jungle and valley near the mountains in the far west are haunted.

INFORMATION General
For the most part, the Mizuka are skittish, shy, and perhaps just a little paranoid. They tend to favour staying in the deep jungles of their pseudo valley, where the thick mists and Deception's illusions help them remain entirely hidden from outsiders.
They seem to believe that the mind is greater than the fist and will usually favour hiding in the mists rather than physically confronting an adversary. Instead of actual fighting, they are fond of mental tricks and psychological torture, which they use on unwanted strangers; their knowledge of the territory and Deception's illusions allow them to stalk and scare away most potential dangers to the pride without having to physically confront the peril itself. Despite the fact they favour such tricks and illusions, if cornered, these lions can be just as dangerous as the next, for a cornered beast tends to slash out with force if it fears for its life and that of its loved ones.
Their ranks range from hunters to healers and fortune tellers, and despite the fact they are mostly of a skittish nature, there's always a percentage of members that are more social than others. These members are often time sent out into the 'outside world' to gather news of the on-goings of other prides, or listen to what others have to say about the 'Valley ghosts'. These members are also in charge of 'attracting' potential members to the valley with stories of the 'ghosts', without giving away the actual position or existence of the pride.
Eidolon
The Mizuka are rather religious by nature. If not by force of habit from old age Umande'mfuni ideals, than due to the fact a pair of gods reside with them and interact with them on a daily basis (not to mention the fact they seem to have attracted the attention of several other gods, that visit them on a rather constant basis).
They seem to have developed their beliefs a bit further than their mother-pride however, and not only believe and praise the Storm king, but many other entities, favoring those that have to do with Nature, Earth, Trees, Plants, Water, Moon and Mists amongst others. They believe that these Guardians look after them, the way Deception and Identity do and often time pray to them or hold elaborate rituals to gain their favour - these rituals ca range from dances under the moonlight to offerings of plants, flowers, treasures and food.
Color
Mostly due to their Umande'mfuni roots, the Mizuka have a personal bias against the Firekin; this means that lions with pelts that VERY strongly resemble those of that pride are usually shunned or scared away from the lands. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule however, for while the pride holds a personal bias, many of the members also believe in redemption and the good in others.
The fact they can remain hidden from outsiders and can thus, observe them without being seen, allows the pride members to judge a lion not only by their colors, but by their actions. This means that if a lions with Firekin colors is spotted, it will be stalked and watched - if their personality and actions leads the pride to believe they are truly good and safe to approach, they might, in fact, approach the lion rather than turning it away.
Despite this, many elders still hold a grudge against the color red. If a pride member is born with those colors, or if an outsider with those colors is accepted in.... he/she might be looked down on with resentment and mistrust by said elders.
Non-lions and Hybrids
While the Mizuka hold no grudges against non-lions, they do not accept them into their ranks. They may hold alliances with neighboring leopards, cheetahs or even hybrids, but they discourage their members from mating them as the resulting children are often time infertile, and thus 'unnatural'. While romance between different species is heavily frowned upon, friendship is perfectly allowed.
If despite warning a female chooses to mate a non-lion, the lioness is allowed to birth her offspring, ween them and then given the choice of sending her children off with their father, or leaving the pride with them, as they can not be accepted within the Mizuka ranks.
Outsiders
The pride members are usually skittish of outsiders (exceptions do occur, of course - some member might be more social than others, and some might enjoy playing tricks more than others), but not violent unless given good motive.
The usual procedure the pride takes with outsiders is usually the same every time; They stalk and observe the outsider from the mists in an attempt to figure out if they are safe to approach or not. If they deem the lion safe, they might approach this lion - more mischievous members of the pride might attempt to play 'tricks' on the outsider as an ice-breaker before approaching them. If they deem the lion a risk to the pride, the outsider is thus, promptly run out of the pride using physiological torture in an attempt to scare them - if this fails, physical power may be used, especially if the outsider presents a danger to the pride's youth or members.
Druids and Ancients
The pride is not run by one lion, or by a single family - instead, the Mizuka have a 'council' of High ranked, wise members that debate the decisions the pride should take in times of crisis.
Master druids have more respect and thus, their opinions are more cherished within the 'council', however, without the agreement of at least most of the council, the Master druids can not act or take a decision on their own.
These ranks are not hereditary, but rather, each Master Druid, or Druid will pick a disciple and train him/her to occupy their seat in the council when time the comes.
Mating and Offspring
While the Mizuka are rather laid back in their rules, they are rather old-fashioned when it comes to mating, for the most part. A couple does not have to be life mated to have children. Though flings are 'discouraged', it is understood that they happen. Adolescent-breeding is also frowned upon, as most Ancients and pride members believe these young adults should be paying attention to their lessons so they can take their rightful places in society in due time. However, while discouraged, accidents do happen; when 'accidents' happen, the couple is usually given a stern talking to (that will likely never be forgotten - some Ancients can be quite stern!).
Rogue-breeding is likewise discouraged and frowned upon. Mating with an outsider is not well seen, though it has happened in the past; Ancients insist potential outsider mates are first evaluated and then brought into the pride before any offspring are produced.
Other than that, couples withing the pride do not need permission to start families of their own.

RANKS Master Druid: (2) Head of the council, per say. The Master Druids' opinions are held in high esteem, though this does not mean they can decide on things without the approval of at least the majority of the other druids (Simply put, they are the positions of the characters of the IC leaders of the pride). Druid: (3) Council members - they help the Head Druids with the leading of the pride, serving as advisers. Ancient: (?) Elder members of the pride that are too old to take on other positions, but are not in the council are called 'Ancients' and are held in very high esteem. Their wisdom is usually great and thus are often time approached by other members when they are in need of guidance.
Hunters: (?) These members are the ones in charge of providing the rest of the pride with enough food to eat, and are thus very highly respected. Specially since they often have to leave to mists in order to track down herds. Shepherd: (?) With infinite patience, the Shepherds care for the youth of the pride while their parents are otherwise engaged in other activities (such as hunting or performing their respective jobs). They work hand in hand with the Scholars as their jobs are interlinked. Scholar: (?) Having memorised the history of the pride, these members are the ones in charge of passing down that knowledge to the new generations. They work hand in hand with the Shepherds and also make excellent story tellers! Youth: (?) All members of the pride will hold this rank till adolescence.
Mystic: (?) Ranging from Fortune Tellers to Star Gazers, this is the rank those with the 'Sight' usually hold within the pride. Of course... there's always those that believe they hold the Sight when they, in fact, do not, and still hold this rank! (Aka, this means that 'Fake seers' are also allowed to hold this rank - so long they are convincing enough) Shaman: (?) With a wide knowledge of herbs, weeds and roots, amongst other things, these members heal and treat the sick and wounded. Some also hold an extensive knowledge of poisons and can be rather intimidating in their ways, if they set their minds to it!
Ghosts: (?) These are the members that Outsiders usually come into contact with, most of the time, and also the ones that have given the pride their name of "Mist Ghosts". Their primary function is to... pretty much stalk and observe any outsider that comes into the Valley of the Mists. They are the ones that judge whether or not said outsiders represent a threat to the pride. If they do not, they are sometimes approached, while other times... more mischievous members of the pride might 'play' with them for a while before revealing themselves. If the outsider is deemed a threat to the pride, the Ghosts then proceed to try and scare them away using psychological torture, attempting to stress the outsiders into leaving. They sometimes work with the Eidolons, taking advantage of the illusions the later create for full effect. Warriors: (?) While the pride believes in peace and would rather hide or flee into the mists in times of dangers, they also understand that if push comes to shove, they should have some sort of backup plan. The Warriors are the strongest members of the pride, trained to slink through the mists like the ghosts, backing them up, in case an outsider is needed to be confronted with physical power to run him/her away. Seekers: (2-3) There's only but a few members that hold this rank. Their primary mission is to leave, from time to time, the safety of the Valley of the Mists in an attempt to gather information and news of the 'outside' world. They also like to gather tales and rumours that have spread of the 'Ghosts of the Mists', and often time help fuel those rumours with rumours of their own. Their secondary mission is to basically 'lure and tempt' potential members into the Valley with stories, perking their curiosity, while never actually revealing the existence of the pride, nor giving away its true location. As such, these lions are usually rather social and silver tongued in order to carry out the jobs.
Eidolon: (?) Any Gods or Goddesses that make their home within the Valley of the Mists are dubbed 'Eidolons'. It is thanks to their illusions that the pride remains hidden from outsiders.
