★ - - - Those who criticize our generation...
Okay. So I actually think I am pregnant! :]
I'd like to see your opinions. I listed some background info and info that I thought might be relevent below; please do not mention the points that I put in brackets, as I already know that attention in that area is needed and IS being taken care of. It just upsets me when people keep mentioning them when I kindly ask them not to. :/ (I have posted in the LD / LI about this).
1. I've been having my period since I was in 6th or 7th grade. I would now be considered a college sophomore.
2. My period always starts somewhere between the 23rd and the 28th of each month; it is never late and never early.
3. My period always lasts for exactly 5 days.
4. My last period was from March 25th-March 30th; the first day of my last menstrual period was March 25th. (4 weeks late)
5. I have never had protective sex with my fiance. We are trying to have a baby. Although, when we have sex, we don't do it for the purpose of conceiving. We have sex because we want to. Therefore, my body won't be stressed about "OMGZ she tryin'z to get preggerzzz!!!"
6. Me and my fiance generally have sex everyday, but I would say we have sex every other day here within this past month.
7. I have never been on birth control.
8. [My diet hasn't changed one bit - even though it's not the best.]
9. I have not been involved in any stressful event/atmosphere that made me more stressed than usual within the last 6 months. (I'm normally stressed with work and bills getting paid, etc...like everyone is generally stressed about.) I wouldn't really call it stress though - more like "on top of things." Like, making sure things get done and whatnot.
10. I have not been in any life changing events within the last 6 months.
11. I have been having bad heartburn every day when I never had heartburn. Juno said it best. "I have heartburn radiating to my kneecaps."
12. My food yearning/craving within the last month has been OEC (Japanese express/take-out). At first I didn't consider this a craving, but my fiance said something recently about how he'd be rich if he had a dime for every time we went to OEC this past month, so I thought I'd list it here just in case.
13. My period will be 4 weeks late tomorrow (May 25th). I haven't had any spotting or anything, though.
14. I have had cramps these past few days; i read in What to Expect when you are Expecting that this is normal for pregnancy.
15. Yes, i am reading What to Expect when you are Expecting. About 2 weeks ago I decided that I am going to act like I'm pregnant and start taking prenatal vitamins, a multivitamin and folic acid (400mg). And yes, I even bought the book. I figured it couldn't hurt at all. I was taking folic acid for about two months before now anyway; it helps with fertility.
16. I was taking Geritol, and WTEWYAE (the book) recommends a multivitamin. Will Geritol work, or do you recommend another one that would be better?
17. My feet have been swollen the last few weeks. I have tried not walking on them as much (Even though I don't walk as much as I should) and I prop my feet up about 75% of the time when I'm sitting down. Otherwise I stretch my legs other times when I'm sitting down to help.
18. I have been irritable, but I have been known to have a temper on me on a couple of occasions; I haven't noticed any changes in that area, although there's no way to tell.
19. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests over the past 3 weeks, but they were all negative. I plan on taking another one June 1st - I will have missed my second period by then.
20. [[[[[I would go to the doctor and get tests done, but me and my fiance are currently uninsured. There is not a Planned Parenthood or any other free clinics within 4-5 hours of where we live. The free Depeartment of Health clinic here has a waiting list - they wouldn't be able to get me in until 2010! (No matter what I am going for; that is ridiculous.) We are getting health insurance in early to mid june, so I will have it soon. My friend already recommended a fantastic doctor and everything. So I am all set up in this area - please no suggestions here. Thanks everyone!]]]]]
21. I have been somewhat more hungry than usual.
22. I just feel pregnant ;]
That is really all of the background information I have for you guys. if you can think of anything else you need to ask me, ask away. :] Otherwise, I just wanted to talk to someone and share what I'm going through, and about the fact that I might be pregnant now :]

Congrats. ;D
You seem to be taking the right precautions. Is there a WIC office near you? They can help you a lot with good pre-baby food like milk and cheese.
As for vitamins, any pre-natal vitamin is fine as long as it has iron and lots of folic acid. I was taking generic before they made me sick and I ended up taking Flintstones.
Also, sometimes urine pregnancy tests aren't very accurate in the very early stages of pregnancy but the next one you take might show up. Just to be sure, wait until you REALLY have to pee to take it that way the HCG [baby hormone] levels are more concentrated and will show up. And take an E.P.T or ClearBlue, they are the most accurate.
But all in all, it sounds like you might be having a baby.

Hm. I have actually never heard of WIC. But you said they have milk and cheese and whatnot?
Also, I have a question. I will be breastfeeding if I do happen to be pregnant, but on the occasion(s) where I might be asleep or out at the store, is it okay to mix in some formula to the feeding of the baby, so that my fiance can also feed him/her?
Or should I just stick to only breastfeeding for a certain amount of time?

WIC will provide you with milk, cheese, eggs, peanut butter, cereal, and juice along with education.
I breastfed my daughter and I think you are making a great choice!
As for supplementing, I would really suggest not supplementing unless your doctor says so. It could make your supply drop. I would stick to straight breastfeeding until the baby is at least six months, though they recommend for a year or more. Here's the cool part about nursing, you can sleep while doing it. ^_~ Once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to feed the baby, shop, and get back in time to feed the baby again. Or you can always take the baby with you.
Some people may find nursing in public disgusting or wrong, but it is a beautiful thing. If you are uncomfortable doing so, there are special wraps you can get that cover you up, or can steal a bathroom stall for an hour. xD
Bundles of poo are so fun.

:]
I myself was breastfed, so I figured that continuing it on and keeping something going that is perfect for the health of a newborn is best.
And aww, how old is she? I personally want a daughter first, but either a boy or a girl is perfect; i just want to be a mommy :]
And yeah, I don't see a problem with breastfeeding in public as long as women at least try and you know, at least have a blanket. Not just pop one of your breasts out anywhere, haha. I just think having a child is so amazing. How your body gets ready for it amazes me; it's just so beautiful.

We can't say for sure if you're pregnant or not. Only a test can tell. But if you're having unprotected sex every day, there is a pretty good chance. Like Preston said, it takes a little while for the home pregnancy tests to be accurate, but it should be accurate for you pretty soon now.
Like Preston said, you're really not supposed to use formula unless you have to (if you doctor recommends it because you're sick, if you're not making enough milk, etc.). Breasts are better than bottles for jaw development, so breastfeed as much as possible. If you really can't breastfeed 100% of the time, that's still no reason to switch to formula. You'd be better off getting a breast pump and bottle feeding the baby your breast milk. And yes, it's recommended to stick with it for at least a year. Check out the parenting subforum here, there's more information on all this stuff in there.
Are you going to be able to finish college?

I will at some point in my life continue college. I attended one semester but then decided to think about my life and where I wanted to be and what i wanted to do. I have not yet returned (if i were still in school, i would've just finished my 2nd semester this month).
I have already decided i am going to take some online classes though; when, i don't know.
i was planning on breastfeeding 100% of the way; i was just asking if my fiance would be able to feed, but i figured the first year i would be doing the feeding. ;]

Maybe you could look for an online child development class to take during your pregnancy. That way, you're getting college credit for doing research that you would be doing anyway!
Don't let being unsure about what you want to do hold you back. I had no idea what I wanted to do when I first went to college. My father said, "Pick something. I don't care what. College shows employers that you tried and that you're capable of learning. I don't care if you get a degree in basket weaving, you're getting a degree." So I just picked a major that interested me. I got a few job ideas during the time, but then changed my mind about them. I ended up working a little in college. Once I finished my AS I decided to continue on in a different area. Well, most of my credits transferred to the new major just fine (math, history, language, then my old major's classes counted as my electives), so I wasn't even set back any and was able to get my BA two years later without any problem. And you know what? My father was right. College is better than no college no matter what you major in. My AS is in Criminal Justice. My BA is in Psychology. And I've never really worked in either field. I worked in education before becoming a homemaker.
People often ask if I think my education is wasted because I don't work now. I say no way. It helped me get the jobs that I had before meeting my partner. And who knows, maybe I will have to or want to go back to work someday. If not, I got to learn a lot. I got to learn some things I'll actually use, I got to take child development classes, I learned how to teach my baby, and now I can be in my father's shows someday and say, "Like it or not, you're going to college!" and not have to hear, "But you didn't...." blaugh

Lol. Yeah. If i don't physically go i am definitely doing online classes. I agree with you when you said college is better than no college; even if it's online!
i was thinking about going ahead and starting after i found out i was pregnant since i won't be working while i am. :]

I would do online classes. So much easier on you, and the gas tank. Besides then you don't have to switch over when the baby is born.
My daughter is almost six months old, btw. I really wish I could have kept up breastfeeding her, but my milk stopped producing enough for her. And that's how most women in my family are now. And just think of all those lovely benefits like not paying for formula and strong teeth and jaws. <33

Are you sure? Unless you had your n****e removed you should be able to. Or the doctor already told you that you couldn't. xP
I would definitely mention that to your doctor when you go see one.
