It was alot more violent?

I was watching Puppetmaster when I realized "Holy crap! Blood bending can equal exploding bodies.... that would be awesome."

After that I realized that alot of the things they do can equal brutal deaths.

Would I love the show more if it was more brutal....Yes very much so.

Howbout you?

It's funny that you mentioned that because my sister was talking about how blood bending can equal exploding bodies. I believe it was a good amount of violence because the show did attract younger audiences and it showed on nick, a children's channel. I wouldn't like it any more if it had more violence. I think it's perfect the way it is.

1) Nickelodeon is not merely a children's channel. 90% of the shows attract viewers of all audiences.
2) Senseless violence in a show meant to be mentally stimulating is idiotic. It balanced perfectly the spiritual, mental, and sometimes violent parts of the program. It was exactly as violent as it should have been, as bending by its very nature is combative.

Would I have liked it more? Most definitely no. Our culture has been fed too much gorenography in recent years and it's sickening that the only thing that we need to keep us entertained is more violence.

No, not really. I think the violence in the show was fine.
Any more and It kind of ruins it. The point of the show isn't really the violence it's about Aang saving the world. So if there was alot of violence, it would detract from the point of the show.

But that's only my opinion.

To me, Aang's spirituality was the main theme running throughout the show, and his personal beliefs would never have allowed him to a) be more violent, or b) constantly be around those who condone violent behavior. I enjoyed the fact that Aang found a way around the Avatar State to bring Ozai down. If there was more violence, we wouldn't have seen the great inner struggle of Aang's.

So basically, I liked it just the way it was XD.

No, more violence in Avatar would have been counterproductive to the show and the main characters' goal. The characters are on a mission to end war and bring about balance and spirituality. Rarely do the characters actually hurt anyone, even the fire nation soldiers. If the characters used brute force more often, there would be too much destruction for a good ending.

As HP mentioned, violence as entertainment is basic. People who would be attracted only by the violence would not be impressed with the deep themes throughout the series such as the cores of human nature and exploring the different types of love.

I like Avatar the way it is.
