It had been days since she had arrived in Timur's property. And she had begun to feel really at home. He was so kind to her, though he spoke of clans and equality alot. She didnt care, he was handsome, and he really did take rather good care of her.
She smiled, her ivory pelt glittering in the sun as she sat outside the den he had shared with her, dipping her tongue to the waters. She lapped at the crisp coolness with great quickness. She had become so thirsty lately, she supposed it was because of the area which they lived. It could get hot here! Though it could get hot in most all of Africa, and usually was.
She looked behind her, as if looking to see if Timur had risen for the day yet, or not.

Or not. The heat of the day did not appeal to Timur’s dark coat, so he slept in for hours. When he woke, sensing Esperanza leave his side, he simply rolled over and went back to sleep without a second thought. Her absence did not worry him. He could see that she would be loyal to him for a long time. Until she acted contrary to his opinions, there was no need to keep an eye on her movements. Besides, she couldn’t get far in this heat.

She smiled, padding back inside the den and cocking her head.
"Wake up silly! Its a whole new day." She could never sleep in. Soon as the sun was barely in the sky, the female would stur and manage to greet the sun on its new day.
"Timur." She said, walking over to him, and nudging him gently.
"C'mon ya big lug!" She had grown fond of the male, and wanted nothing more than to be around. She wasnt going anywhere for a good while.

Timur growled mildly and held his ground until he couldn’t stand it any longer. His head popped up. “Hey! Cut it out! I don’t do that to you.”
In spite of his plans, there were a lot of little things about Esperanza that irritated him. Sometimes he actually felt happy to have her around. She made a good companion. But now that his loneliness was gone, he couldn’t help but notice her faults, too: her naivety, her giddiness, her incessant desire for his attention. Still, he told himself to be patient. He nosed her muzzle, saying as kindly as possible, “What do you want, my Esperanza?”

When he snapped at her, she backed away a bit, cocking her head. Her mother and father, though completely different, never growled at each other. And for a split second, in her heart she felt that maybe this wasnt what she was looking for.
When he started nosing her muzzle, she relaxed a bit, and didnt inform him she had been close to tears earlier. He was a strong male, adn he would not be with anyone lesser than he was. So she stifled her emotions, and smiled a little.
"I was just thinking about you, and figured you wouldnt want to miss the day, is all."

Timur glanced at the over-abundance of day flooding the entranceway and grunted. “It’s hot out there. Why would I miss the heat? It makes my tongue fall out of my mouth and dribble everywhere!”
He used a playful tone, afraid she would flinch again if she knew he was serious. She’s such a delicate thing, he thought. Almost like a lily. A beautiful white lily, my little flower. Maybe one day she’ll learn.

She wagged her little tail with a giggle. "Im sorry to wake you then Timur.. Would you like to come get a drink with me? The water tastes delightful." She purred.
She wasnt sure how he felt about her.. Sometimes she felt she was the annoying little sister, and he got so tired of her. But then there were times that she swore he gave her little signs of interest. Though, he had seemed to call some claim to her, it didn't seem like love. She wasnt sure if she'd find it with him..Though she was sure he had to be her prince charming. She had waited so long!
She smiled with giggle.
But she sat, and waited for him to reply.

Timur thought about the cool reflective water and felt his interest perk a little. He supposed it might be good to spend a little time with her, since she seemed so desperate for a moment of his attention. He uncoiled from his comfortable ball and exited the den with a stretch and shook out his pelt. “I suppose I am a little thirsty,” he said to himself, squinting at the bright savanna.
He turned to Esperanza as she joined him. “A long time ago, you said something about a lion you knew. When are we going to meet her?”

She blinked, thinking a bit. Valenera usually stuck to the open plains, where hunting was easy and open. She had taken to raising a little cheetah cub, and she was considering her a sister as well. Which had made Esper very jealous at one point. But she had made peace.
"Whenever you wish, I imagine. Its just a trek. Ya gotta go to the plains, and wait for the sun to set."
She said with a smile, drinking at the water at her paws.

Esperanza had been raised by her kind mother, and her dominant father. Timur's actions merely reminded her of her father, and she felt that maybe he was almost perfect! Oh surely he was.. Though he did have a temper she had come to find.
"She comes at sunset because she has cubs she must take care of before she can leave. She is not able to just up and leave like we can." She said, snorting a bit, but she was more submissive. She didn't put up arguments, though sometimes her fathers tone would carry.
"I would say about three miles out. We could make that in no time though," She said with a smile. "Why are you so interested in Val?" She asked, cocking her head.

“I like lions. Lions are strong, great hunters, loyal to their families. They make good friends.” He smiled slightly. “One thing I notice is most lions do not like hyenas because we sometimes gang up on them to steal their food. I do not do this. Instead, I talk to the lion. I try to be friendly. Sometimes I even get him to share his meal. I think it would be better if our species worked together.”

She smiled. So maybe he was interested in her family. It made her little blonde tail wag as she giggled.
"Oh then we shall go on a mission! We shall see her, and you can meet my big sister. Shes got a litter of her own, so she's rather protective... But if I say you're with me, you're in." She replied, a smile forming on her maw.
"Im so happy you let me stay here with you... I am loving being around ya.." She said with a nod, and went to the riverbank to lap at the river's water, quencing her own thirst.

“A mission, you say?” He cackled. “That is funny. If only all carnivores could call each other brother and sister.”
Timur met her sentiment with a broken smile and took to scratching his neck. Of course she loved being around him. “When shall we set out?”
