User Image*sucks in breath, looking around* I kinda liked this movie! It was like reading the book in hyper-fast forward, skipping over A LOT of detail and getting confused at parts, but it was still okay... those who hadn't read the books might enjoy it.

I love who they got to play Bella, Alice, and Jacob! Billy was awesome too! I did NOT like Edward... He is a terrible actor and his look was all wrong for the character. They could have done much better! Had they cast the kid from 17 Again/High School Musical, I would have liked it better! O_O That's saying something.

The sparkling vampire thing was the DUMBEST thing I've ever seen! I like the way it was described in the book, but come on!! As Blue said "It looks like he's covered in petroleum jelly..." And showing the vampires moving fast was terrible! Yesh! Fire your frickin' special effects people! I could have done better! And I haven't touched editing software in years!

Yes, I got Blue to watch the movie with me... I HAVE CORRUPTED HIM!!! twisted

The book was definitely better! But I can't wait for the rest of the movies!
Enjoy!

Blue's note:

The vamps in this universe are supposed to shimmer like diamonds when directly exposed to the sun's rays. Edward just looked wet....ew.

The movie was...okay at best imho. I didn't throw a hissy fit about it, but I won't be sorry never to see it again, it didn't thrill me. And yeah...the SFX sucked hard.

The girl who played Bella was good, I give you that. But, after seeing her in The Messengers, this was a perfect role for her.

There were a couple B-List names in it, which probably helped, even if they were minor roles.

All in all, I'd give it a 3 out of 10. Some good bit, but not enough to make me wanna watch it again. The Prestige and The Illusionist...now THOSE were amazing flicks.

You guys have NO IDEA the amount of restraint I'm using not to start flaming here. I respect you for the fact you provided an actual review, but I just can't bring myself to see it. I don't think you guys have ever met a "vamp" kid yet... but they're really annoying and give me every reason to hate this movie and all who enjoy it. Pray that you never do. Per say?

Thank you for your restraint Khleo.

I will admit that it was the trailer that caught my attention long before I heard about the series. Then I saw the books in Books-A-Million. I decided I wouldn't see the movie till I read the books.

Like the Harry Potter movies, I will watch all the movies they make of this series simply because I'm a fan of the books. But I didn't like the movie as a whole, just pieces. I don't think I actually clarified that before. They could have done much better condensing the books, but then, that applies to just about every movie.

Blue and I both agree, we found a better person to play Edward... Ed Westwick! He is so much more visually appealing and a much better actor than Robert Pattinson!

What else has he been on? *is way too lazy to look him up on IMDB*

Robert Pattinson (Edward) was in the Goblet of Fire, and Taylor Lautner (Jacob)......all I know of him is that he's going out with girl from the High School Musical movies....Vanessa Hudgens.

This movie was okay to me. I didnt quite find it appealing, and the main character has more mood swings than a couple of girls i dated o.o; heh it kindof made me chuckle. razz I rate it: 2.5/5 yay for decimals XD
