Once upon a time, in a place long-forgotten, there was a dragon. He cared not for the magic around him, or for the world's wonders, or even for his draconic brethren. His joy and fulfillment came from the vast collection of treasures he kept hidden deep within a cave. Why go seeking beauty, he thought, when he had all he'd ever desire right there with him?

It happened one day, that this dragon should meet a tiny fairy. She was brighter than any jewel, and had a voice more musical than the ringing of purest gold bells. He desired to have her, but she would not be had. He offered her his greatest treasures if only she would stay and be his own. The fairy only giggled and flew just beyond his reach.

"What use have I for treasures?" said she. "The stars are my diamonds and the sun is my gold. Come and see them for yourself!" And so it was that the dragon left behind his cave, and that which was precious to him to follow the fairy. They became one another's constant companions, him defending her in times of trouble, and her teasing and enchanting him with her magic.

Desire to possess her, as they traveled together, grew to be something more. "You are perfect." the dragon told the fairy. "And I love you."

"Fairies do not love." she said. "We do not know how. And so, I do not love you."

"I cannot stop you from being what you are." said the dragon. "Only let me remain at your side and I will be happy."

And so they went on that way - him loving her, and her always flying teasingly ahead. He followed her to the tops of the mountains and the bottoms of the valleys. He followed her to the ends of the world, until the both of them were ancient and ragged and could go no further.

Their final steps had taken them to the shore of a tranquil pond where they lay with one another. As they were lulled to their final sleep by the song of the forest, she spoke to him. "I am afraid to die." she said. "I have never known death."

"Creatures such as we do not die." said the dragon. "We may vanish for a while, but we are born again somewhere in some form to discover the world anew."

"When that time comes," said she "we will find one another, and I will learn to love you. Things will be different next time."

With that promise made and their souls intertwined, they breathed their last on the sigh of the evening wind.

It was said that the two of them went on that way for many lifetimes. Both would be reborn into the world, fate would eventually draw them to one another, and they would fall into old habits. The only thing that remained constant was returning to the same place, to make the same promise just before expiring, having come just a bit closer to realizing their love...

When Zhane and Tinania met, however, they were blissfully ignorant of such things. They knew only that the pull between them was a strong one, and that despite knowing virtually nothing about one another, it felt as if they'd always known each other.

While fearful of such things at first, him never having known love before and her failing to find it in the past, they soon surrendered to something that was clearly greater than the both of them. It became easy not to care about where one another had been, only that they had each other now.

After a rocky beginning, and a separation that rattled, but didn't break, them their two lives became one on a warm Easter morning when Zhane asked Nani to marry him in the shade of a tree in West Barton's park. It would seem that, finally, they were taking life back within their grasp and commanding control of a situation that had long-enjoyed running rogue.

Fate, however, had its way of gently reminding them that it had its own ideas. And that this idea it had in mind for the two of them presently looked, very much, like a blue plus sign in a little plastic window...

Personality: Calvin has already established himself as "the quiet one". In comparison to his sister, he is much less active and vocal. While this sometimes worries his parents as they wonder if he's not feeling well, Calvin is most usually perfectly fine. He simply just does not seem to conform to the standards of a happy, bubbly baby.

• Imp is as many put it, Tinania's second personality. Being the blood of a fairy, its Tinania bad side. Each fairy has a good and bad to them, and the imp is a seductive one at that. She only appears when she knows she can have her way, or is very very angry. She takes control of Tinania's body and does what she pleases. During this time, Tinania doesn't remember anything at all.
  
  Tinania controls this side of her, unless her eyes are Emerald Green. Then the imp is in control. The best way to get the imp to leave is either ice cold water, or a metal collar. As of right now, she is sleeping and doesn't seem to want to come out. This however can change at anytime.

Tinania has always been a curious child since birth. She wanted to know about everything around her, and never stopped asking questions. As she got older, her curiosity turned towards her studies. Life was hard on her though, from being stabbed, to memory loss, to being forced to change her life around for others.

After many issues, she forced herself to move on from her past lover, and resigned herself to the idea of facing life on her own. Shortly afterward, she lost the unborn child she was carrying, and was told by the doctors that she couldn't have kids as a direct result of her attack as a teenager. Heartbroken, Tinania felt as if she'd lost her will to live. Then her adopted son, Seiji, came into her life, and she found meaning again.

When she and Zhane met, it was an instant attraction. However, she was still worried that as he learned of her past he would be driven away. He proved her wrong by not only coming back to her, but asking her to marry him. Now, as they plan their wedding, Tinania's only worry is trying to relax and make it through the upcoming months in hopes she can finally find happiness. And keep the child she is carrying...

• Special Abilities: when provoked to desperation, the runes emblazoned on his forehead and hands ignite, allowing him to briefly assume the form of a blue drake to defend himself or those dear to him. Doing so exhausts all of his body's resources and leaves him extremely weakened and ill for a couple of days following. It is very much a last resort.
  
  
• Likes: exploration, photography, fresh air, trying new things, tranquility, honesty, bundling up on cold nights

The son of Talonfaust and Yeande, and a GMFC child himself, Zhane grew up an optimistic and incredibly-curious young man. His seemingly-unquenchable thirst for knowledge led him on an endless quest for answers to everything that interested him. A solitary individual, he made few friends, as it often seemed he didn't even notice others.

Meeting Tinania marked a big change in his life, and his way of thinking. When the dust settled from parental conflict, and finding answers that had long-eluded him, he and Nani settled in together with their adopted children, Seiji and Sellexi, to forge a new life with one another. While he believes in going along to get along in most matters, Zhane has developed a protective streak should he feel that his family is being threatened...

-Krista-
Krista has always gone out of her way to be understanding and accommodating. I would have expected some opposition from her toward the guy about to marry her daughter, but she has offered only her best wishes and her eagerness to meet her grandchild. I envy the bond she and Nani have sometimes....

My mother, the one person in my life that will always be there. She has helped me grow, even when there were days I thought she didn't care. I understand now why she did alot of what she did. She was protecting me, in hopes I have a great future. I love her with all my heart, and I will always want her around.


-Talonfaust-
My dad is...well, we've had our ups and downs as time has gone on. We went from being close when I was young to nearly tearing one another to bits when I was a teenager, to finally seeming to understand each other now. I think its our mutual hope it stays that way.

I'm honestly not sure where I stand with him. I hope he can learn to love me as a daughter, but I guess only time will reveal that. He not a bad person, and I can understand where he is coming from. I just wish he could see me for me, and not the image he saw of me that first time we met.


-Yeande-
I've always loved my mom. She isn't afraid to tell anyone what's on her mind and is usually the one to keep a level head when everybody else is losing theirs. If not for her, I think I would have gone nuts a long time ago.

She is an amazing woman, much like my mother. And so very easy to talk to, without feeling she's judging you. I'm glad I got a chance to talk to her, and I do hope that our relationship will grow. I can see myself calling her my second mother.

My sister, the one who help me open up more then anyone. She taught me it was okay to be different, and for that I love her more. She is amazing, between losing the essence of who she once was and a hard life. Nothing has stopped her or broken her, in fact she grown stronger because of it all. I hope that one day, I can honestly be as strong as she is.


-Phaerna-
My little sister. She was adopted when I was too young to remember a time that she'd ever not been around. We're near the same age, but her growth spurts seem to be dictated by something other than time. I don't see much of her anymore, mostly due to the fact she prefers to stay hidden.

He my brother, and my best friend. A person who I thought was a ghost of my past, has come back. And I don't plan on losing him again. There is not a single thing I wouldn't do for him, and he knows it. I love him with all my heart, and I'm so glad he is back.


-Sellexi-
Lexi is proof that you never know what life's going to toss you. She came from an egg that was supposed to be dead and has grown into a lovely little girl who looks to Nani and I as her parents. I know she's too young to try and explain current events to, but I like to think that she's just as excited as the rest of us about her pending brother or sister.

Talk about a silent sweetheart, this little girl is just precious. I think she helps Zhane more, as he was learning to be a father through her. She's always full of life, and I can't wait to see what she will teach her brother or sister when they arrive. I am honestly honored to have this little one as my daughter.


-Seiji-
I first met Seiji when he was a baby and introduced to me as Nani's adopted son. As he, Nani, and I spent time together, the three of us bonded. I think I may have damaged that irreparably when I left for a bit, though. I feel like its hard for us to relate to one another sometimes now that he's older, but that won't stop me from doing my best.

My son, he is a gift all on his own. If it wasn't for him coming into my life, I don't know where I would be. For his age, he really smart. He knows things he shouldn't, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Everyday he helps out, and ask if the baby is okay. I know he will make a great big brother.


-Rose-

She has been apart of my life since I was a child. From being my voice, to my support when I needed it. Everything I have been through, she been with me. Nothing will ever change, and I will always want her apart of my family. I can't see life without her. I love this feline with all my heart.


-Kayla-

Even through she has been with us a short time, she has already is made it clear she belong. She is such a big help, and knows how to get Rose to have fun. She is great with the kids, and for that I am grateful. Without her, Rose and I would have gone crazy a long time ago.

I actually bought these for Zhane and I, so we can record our thoughts and feelings on the child growing within me. Then later on, when the child is old enough we can show him or her these books, so that our son or daughter knows what a blessing they are to their parents.



We knew going in that the pregnancy would be a tense waiting game. We wanted to be excited, and yet were afraid to be in case it didn't see itself to term. As the time ticked past, we allowed ourselves a little dose of hope each week by going out to pick out two more toys for the nursery...

If you ever make the mistake of referring to your impending child as a "little mushroom" while explaining it to the other children in the house, expect it to haunt you for a bit. These became the first toys added to the nursery.

An assortment of stuffed toys that we agreed would be fitting for a boy or for a girl to play with. The nice thing about plush is that its cuddly no matter what color it is.

The doctors at the GMFC could tell us a lot of things, yet for some reason couldn't tell us whether we could expect a boy or a girl. Uncertainty left us a lot of room to try and prepare for either, just in case...

A music box that captured our interest in a shop window one day. It plays "Flying Dreams" from the Secret Of Nimh. Also sold at the shop were brightly-painted wooden toys featuring tiny rabbits that can be hung from a mobile, or displayed in a window.




These cute little plushies are all actually wind up. Each one plays a different song. I found these in a local shop in Barton. I couldn't decide which one I liked more, so I just grabbed all three.

Just an assortment of animal plushies we found. You can never go wrong with animal plushies. I have to say my favorite is the little duck. When I saw it, I just knew I'd be buying them all.




More assortment of plushies. Rose actually pointed these out to me, and the funny thing is, one comes from a shop we already bought two from. I think I will be going back there soon.






This is the only thing we have that is really girly, but if we have a little girl, it works. I wanted my child to have dolls of her own, so I found these in a shop outside of Aakea. I love them, because each one smells like a different dessert.




These are moreso for a little boy than for either. I figured while we have toys that work for either gender, I wanted something specific for each. So I found these little nightmares.

I made the mistake of fretting aloud to mom about being able to afford all the things we're going to need for the baby while we were on the phone one night. The next morning there was a knock at the door and a delivery to sign for. Lesson learned - never underestimate how much help you're going to have.
