biggrin any of you attending a military ball this month or next, if so I do hope that you understand that it's a formal occasion and that you should dress accordingly?????? girls that means a floor length gown, guys tuxes or your uniforms! believe me the style of dress that some girls wore when my daughter was in JROTC, was something that a hooker would be seen in not at all appropriate for that type of occasion. so please dress accordingly or play it safe and wear your uniform

Mine was in February. I love military ball as long as I'm not on the committee. Oh god, that was terrible. No, it wasn't even worth all the fighting and stress.

biggrin glad to hear that some of you have had your military balls already............. yeah they can be pretty boring(that info comes from my daughter), most of them can be a fun filled evening. hope that you all plan to keep on attending when you can. keep your chins up and keep on moving forward one step at a time, you'll all make it thru........ biggrin

Sanguis Custos We aready had ours 2 months ago I think. I got the biggest brown noser award crying If only those SOB's knew what i've been going through crying Don't feel bad, I got Clumsiest and Shyest. Gma Wolf girls that means a floor length gown, guys tuxes or your uniforms! In my battalion we just kick out anyone who is dressed like a hoochie! Thank you for addressing that though. peacekitty65 I was gunna go, but then my parents decied I couldn't all last minute stressed But it's ok, I went to a weeked long church cinference instead and hooked up with a guy that I've like for 5 years. So no biggy I guess blaugh You hooked up with a guy during a church event? What is wrong with you? lol I enjoyed my military ball. I am not much of a dancer so usually I just talk with my friends. Unfortunately for me a group of the people dancing saw that I hadn't gone up so they lifted me and carried me on to the dance floor and formed a circle around me.

At our military ball it was mandatory to attend and anyone who couldn't dress appropriatly had to leave. We were to arrive between 0600 and 0730 and if we came even a minute late then we were kicked out. ^-^;; If we didn't dance at least once then our MI, Srt. Mgr. Wren (Marine Corp Ret.) threatened us with push ups or pull ups. The ball set up was so much fun, we had cadets stand on the basket ball goals to hang the tank parachute from the gym ceiling. But the ball was the most exciting thing out of all of it. Everyone was dancing and my SMI, Lt. Col. Dobbs (Marine Corp Ret.) asked me to dance and then I asked his wife to dance with me... to say the least the C/C.O. got a really funny picture of her standing facing me with me bowing down when I asked her to dance.
Oh, and a tip to girls out there, if you have a really tall date (my friend was 6'4" and I am 5'1") then I suggest just wearing flats, I went in 4" heels and the woman at the dress shop INSISTED I buy strappy, STRAPPY! heels (IN NOVEMBER! and it rained that night!) because by the end of the night I could barely walk (I had danced to almost every song, between the smoke breaks and trips to the head with girlfriends.)
