Team Sprocket: Suggested Revisions to Ranks # 1 Here we will review over the first recent rank modification proposal that have been made in the rank thread. I would appreciate it if the guild could take the time to look the suggestion over and then post a reply in thread regarding their thoughts on the matter. Twilight BLAST I think Assassins should be it's own section, under Field Operations. Assassin's shouldn't be under Base Operations, because assassinations would not take place in the base [or so we hope not]. And why would the security guards be assassins? Personal Opinion: I'm indifferent on this matter. What are your thoughts on this, Sprockets? ____ {the decision has been made, see page 2} {Discussion is now closed. Thanks for everyone's participation}

" The World Isn't Rendered In Black & White, Other Shades Lie Between. " I honestly don't care either way what is decided on this rank. Assassinations can happen anywhere so, I personally don't know whether it's better to be given it's own rank or to leave it the way it is. Personally, I'd change Security Guard to Organizational Defence. Assassinations would fall under protecting the organization. As would Guards protecting the physical building.

While Ji does have a point, assassinations are sometimes more then protecting. An Assassin could be sent to kill someone for money, power, etc.
More Reasons why it should be it's own rank:
I looked over the member list just now. I did not find anyone under the rank "Security" but i found users who are under Assassin: Fuhrer des Drachen, Arcanum Hybrin, Heiyu, and myself. Security doesn't even have an executive, and the 4 users who are in the section all took the job as an Assassin.

o.0? ... Assassins? ... ... We have Assassins? ... ... ... wer'e a pretty militant evil organization fan-thread!
Edit: on topic ... well the people who should be asked (in my opinion) are the assassins themselves ... do they as a majority want to be a special group or in the same grouping and all the other members!

If the assassins are going to do that, their teams will be in the lead... xp

Here is a suggestion then: How about I contact those that are under the assassin rank, let them know about the discussion going on about their rank, and see if they have any opinions to share?

Your number one Assassin, reporting for duty. There's four of us now? I miss being in a field of my own. >.>
Anyways... I can see the logic behind Assassins being under Field Operations and Base Operations.
First off - Base: The Assassins are part of some kind of organization, or at least are ordered to kill by some type of boss or employer. It makes sense for the Team Sprocket boss to employ Team Sprocket assassins to do the work. Thus, I can see how it is put under the subject of "Base Operations".
Secondly - Field: Assassins aren't the primary form of defense. We eliminate the threat before it exists. If something happens to slip through and get to the base, there are security guards and whatnot to pick up our slack. Therefore, we should be listed in a separate category from them for this reason, if any.
Those are my thoughts. The overall decision lies with you, though, boss.
I've got no objections to the other two being asked about this...

I think I'm an assassin (never checked back to see if I got to be one) but much like blast said I basically agree with that

Why not have Kotty be the Field Executive then? I mean, spies are field agents too.

JiJiJi Why not have Kotty be the Field Executive then? I mean, spies are field agents too. The ranks of spy and assassin are quite different though in job description. It also, theoretically, would "double" the executive's workload that would oversee the two. Then again, Team Sprocket doesn't really have much work to do asides from being evil....lol. If Team Sprocket is going to do that it'd probably be best to see what the spies think of it as well. Kotura included. I'm going to ask the spies and see what they think about this suggestion.

Sounds fine with me. I'd be honored. It sounds like a perfectly reasonable combination. There aren't many spies anyways, so I beleive I am up to the task of managing a larger group than I currently have...

There is also another concern with field executive. I had not noticed it until now, but assigning her as field executive would technically also make her have reign over the other ranks in field operations, including: Trickster & Grunt. Currently there are two very hard working/active executives in Trickster and Grunt positions, and I wouldn't feel right with giving them the so-called boot with this "merging" of ranks into a specific section.
Here is a possible way how we can approach this Keep the current executives as their ranks. Spy + Assassin get merged into an entirely different section of Team Sprocket. (This section would NOT be field operations) This section (whatever we could name it) could have one executive (in this case, Kotura) to oversee all activities in it. In this way, she would be this newly created section's executive to oversee all ranks in it (which could be subject to change in the future; depends on if we add any more ranks to that section and need more executives because of that, etc.)
If you guys agree with this section idea, what do you think it should be called?
