Most Jews, while proud and loving of their faith, despise services. xd The pre-bar-mitzvah months were often tortuous and tedious. So, I'm curious, how often do you guys actually attend shul? Do you go for minyan, or just Saturday mornings? If you go Saturday mornings, do you come in an hour late and go to the bathroom during the entire sermon(I'm speaking to all teenagers there xD)? Tell me about your synagogue experiences.
Also, what denomination do you consider yourself a part of?
I myself belong to a conservative temple(full of liberals, actually). We haev services every day, and I attend minyan every Friday morning and Friday night services about once a month. I only go on Saturday mornings if there's a bar mitzvah(I got a little sick of it after going every single Saturday for six months prior to my bat mitzvah). Plus, I've got rehearsals then. I enjoy our services more than orthodox ones because to me, they're too long. I don't really like reform services, either, because there's too much english and too much music. I'm irked by music in services.
:3 Your turn!

You need a "Whenever my mom guilts me into helping with the Oneg" option. >>;
Or "Once in a blue moon". Whichever. XD
I'm Reform... and not really religious. ._.

Our shul always has this awesome punch fountain thing, which is the only reason my brother goes to services. xD

There are virtually 0 Jewish families in my town, so if I wanted to go to services, I'd have to go to Dallas, and with no car, and not much free time, it's hard to. crying
There used to be a synagogue in town, but it was burned down. eek
If I were to go, it would be to a Conservative or a more Liberal one, depending on whether or not the Liberal one uses music, as I'm not a fan of that either. xp

The liberal(reform, I'm assuming you mean) synagogues tend to encorporate more English and often music.

oh em jyu Purposely burned down or accidentally? The police never came to a satisfactory conclusion concerning that, but everybody has their own opinions, and mine is that there's a huge amount of anti-Semetism in this town. >_<

Whenever I can get there. The shul I go to is a little far away and there are no bus routes near it. I'd go every single day there was something going on if I could.

Well, I can drive, but I have this horrible habit of getting far, far too close to things, so I don't xd I'm very lucky though, as my boyfriend is willing to drive me whenever I ask. I just don't want to bug him too much, you know?

I love goign to shul, but I can't stand it. Let me give my background, it might help to make more sense.
My family is very firmly conservative. My grandfather was very important in our split from the Orthodox shul to form where I go now.
As a kid, basically all the way up to 6th grade (minus 1st and 2nd), I was at an orthodox day school. And so I learned the orthodox way. I realize, I prefer the orthodox way much more then the conservative way. A lot more, in fact. That being said, My family goes to the conservative synagogue. That's not chaning, it really can't. So, I go, and I love going, but I always want just a little more.

Well, I can drive, but I have this horrible habit of getting far, far too close to things, so I don't xd xd I know the feeling. I was driving with my dad once and hit a tree. 'Course, it's half his fault, because he thought it'd be funny and didn't tell me to stop(I was going very slow), but it was his car... I would go more often but I am isolated in a very GOY part of California and the only good temple is about an hour drive away. While I consider myself a member of it, it has to be an important event because it would take out a chunk of my day.

Have you ever thought of starting a local minyan? :3
