So she had gotten away from the estate with no trouble at all. Though could the same be said for Phraktos having the same uneventful route? she did not know. She walked quietly in the direction of the tavern Phraktos had told her to meet him at, annoyed at the extra beats of excitement her heart hammered out. Excitement was bubbling in the pit of her stomach, causing butterflies.

The Spider's Curse Tavern sounded slightly rowdy as she neared it, the old wooden sign swinging slightly above the door with an emblem of the spider on it. She pushed the door open and stepped inside, looking around briefly before making her way over to a table tucked away by the staircase. She took a seat and rested her head on her arms on the table, eyes trained on the door as she waited for him to arrive.

She could feel the paper of the recipe against her chest, but dared not take it out until Phraktos arrived. It was highly precious to them at the moment. She instead aimed her gaze at the grain of the table as she thought about the other thief. He evoked things in her that were brand new, things that were both exciting and scary. If she had woken up this morning and known this, she wasn't sure on if she would have gotten out of bed.

He was fun, he entertained her and he was useful. He was good at what he did, more experienced then she was. All in all, he was someone she could see sticking around her and she wouldn't get annoyed at him. A friend? Of coarse, but did he want more? Was she ready to let him try for more? All in all, she was lost in thoughts and confuse about things just slightly. Her expression slightly vacant.

Phraktos walked into the tavern a good hour and a half later and immediately gave her description to the proprietor and the male behind the bar to find out where she was. The man behind the bar immediately nodded over to the table beneath the stairs as he was suddenly bombarded with orders. Phraktos followed the motion and spied her much to his relief. A smile lite up his face as he ambled across the creaky wood floor to join her.

"Did you have any trouble getting here?" He asked, to make conversation.

She must have an idea that he had been chased and that was why he was so late. He hoped she wasn't too angry with him that he had made her wait so long. Without waiting for her response, he pulled out the nearest chair..which was on her right side. He wasn't about to sit with his back to the door...one never knew who might show up at the tavern.

He cast a worried glance around the room, making note of who was there and where they were sitting. He didn't particularly like doing business out in the open. He motioned for the proprietor to come over and waited patiently for her response before he said anything else.

Izzayne blinked when the door opened, smiling a brightly when she noted that it was Phraktos. She had gone deep into her thoughts, not even aware of how long she had been sat in the corner of the bar without ordering or talking to anyone. She sat up, stretching a little when he went and asked the barman about where she was. She rolled her eyes. Observant. Though she smiled a little more, before dropping it a few bars when he walked over. No need to look goofy.

"No, not at all. Did you?" She answered conversationally, scooting her chair over a little for him. She kept her gaze on him, resting her head in her hands on the table again. She realised he had been a little while, did those guards get him? "You got trouble from the guards didn't you? They passed under me when I was on the wall." She asked, concern lighting her expression. Though there was no need, he was here now.

She had evaluated everyone previous, a piercing glare sent to whoever looked her way in any sort of prolonged way. Hopefully, that was enough to warn some off, Phraktos' presence could do the rest. She reached up into her top and pulled the small wad of papers out, setting them on the table.

"Oh you bet I did." Phraktos muttered in response, rubbing his aching head. His headache was starting to come back. He really needed something to eat and drink...as it had been hours since he had last eaten anything. Maybe that was why he had started to get a headache earlier.

"You were fortunate to get away before they showed up. I managed to get over the wall before they spotted me. But..well someone saw me from the balcony and let them know. Fortunately," He said, a smirk of amusement crossing his face remembering the ward incident. "I was able to reenact the ward spells in time that when they tried to follow me over the wall they ended up getting shocked and burnt pretty nastily. Hehehehe."

When she pulled the papers from her shirt, a tense look flitted across his face. His large hand reached out and covered them slowly, so not to draw attention to them and he pulled the papers off the table..handing them back to her under the table.

"Best not bring them out in the open..there happen to be a few informants here that will be more than willing to point us out to anyone who asks about seeing papers..especially so shortly after the job."

By this time the proprietor was making his way over to the table. When he spied the female with Phraktos his eyebrows shot up as a questioning look came into his eyes as he asked. "Yes Lord Istharan is there something I can do to help you?"

"Yes, could you show us to my private room please?" Phraktos asked with a haughty aristocratic air, immediately assuming his alter ego.

"Of course Lord, right this way please." The proprietor replied, slightly indicated a bob of his head in deference to Phraktos.

Phraktos rose from the table, and moved behind Izzayne to pull her chair out for her, and then offered her his arm.

Izzayne sighed in annoyance at the news that he had indeed got all the trouble. Now she was stupidly wishing that she had at least taken some attention her way. She smirked in glee at the news of the ward, giggling a little. "Oh, I wish I had been there to see that barbeque." She answered gleefully.

Izzayne darted her eyes to him at the look, accepting them back. She didn't know that much, others had looked either half drunk or too stupid to take that sort of notice. She stuffed it back up her top quietly, keeping her eyes on him as she did so. "Ah." She answered simply, looking a tiny bit sheepish at her mistake.

Izzayne's gaze flicked from Phraktos to the proprietor when he came over, raising an eyebrow at his look. Why was he looking like that? She rolled her eyes, before her gaze snapped to Phraktos at the Lord title. She looked amused. Lord, eh? Why did that amuse her so much, especially when he got all haughty.

She rose when he went behind her chair, a smile of humour on her lips as she took his offered arm. Best to play along, it amused her too much to defy. "Off we go then, Lord." She murmured to him, amusement dancing in her eyes.

Phraktos enjoyed her gleeful expression, smiling himself. Her giggle was so infectious, but if he started laughing he'd end up probably roaring like an idiot..so he bit the laughter back. He really didn't want the attention that roaring would inevitably bring.

He didn't say anything more about the juvenile mistake that she had made, keeping his thoughts to himself. It was something he had used to do; until he had meet misfortune because of it. Better she learn from someone else's mistake than one of her own.

He was rather happy when she took his offered arm and played along with the facade. He winked at her, noting the amusement twinkling in her ruby red eyes, as they followed the proprietor from the main room into a back room. In the backroom the male led them down a set of stairs and to a secure room in the basement...leaving them once he took their order as well as Phraktos' strict request to knock before entering the room.

Once the man left and Phraktos had locked the door from the inside, he turned to Izzayne and whooped joyfully at their success; pulling her into his arms and hugging her happily. Then..before she could stop him or protest, he kissed her. And gods..were her lips soft; not to mention very tasty. After a few seconds of holding the kiss, did Phraktos finally pull away rather reluctantly to look her in the eye and wait for the angry reaction he felt was going to come.

Izzayne kept her arm through his, following his lead as they were led into the basement. She was getting over her mistake still, but the amusing lord she walked with was enough to bite it back. The wink set her heart ticking faster still and she looked ahead then. Deciding that she'd stumble if she looked at him again.

She slid her arm out from his a walked a couple of paces further into the room as the other man left. She turned around, about to get down to business when he grabbed her and hugged her. She froze in shock, her face blooming into a heated blush against her dark skin.

She looked at him then, curious and about to talk once again when the kiss came. Her senses screamed in joy, but she stayed still against him. When the kiss broke she continued to stare at him with eyes wide with shock and confusion. She felt no anger just....something she couldn't place. Her hand raised to press against her chest, feeling her heart hammering a tattoo against her rib cage.

What was it that gave him the ability to do this to her? Did she do the same to him? Most likely, judging from the kiss. Her silence wasn't angered or ignoring. It was simply thoughtful. The kiss had sparked the same feelings in her that had happened in the elevator and her cheeks darkened in a blush again. "Well..." She said, unable to think of anything to add to that.

Phraktos was rather surprised when she didn't hit him or start screaming obscenities at him for kissing her without her permission. Phraktos stared at her, trying to gauge her reaction..and figure out why she wasn't mad at him. Perhaps she didn't care all that much because she had feelings for him. It rather stunned Phraktos at first but then he relaxed slightly.

He watched her raise her hand to feel her heartbeat, and a strange feeling came over him and he reached out and placed his palm over hers. He could feel the rapid heady beat of her heart and as if in response his started to rise in rhythm to match the beat of hers. He closed his eyes for a moment, then reached out and took her other hand and placed it over his heart so she could feel the reaction she had caused him him.

"Can you feel that?" He breathed, his voice going slightly raspy with emotion. "We're perfectly in tune with one another. I've never experienced something like that before."

He gazed into her ruby eyes, feeling a strange sense of rightness wash over him. As though..she was the one meant for him. The ice to his fire, the dark to his well..you get the picture. She was the one person who could fully complete him. He suddenly got an out of body experience, seeing the two of them hands entwined as they gazed lovingly into each others eyes in the secret room beneath the stairs. He leaned forward once more and kissed her lightly, softly on her lips savoring the feel of them once more. He pulled back, with a sigh of satisfaction breathing shallowly as he spoke again.
"I think..you're my soulmate." It was only after saying this did he realize that these were the words that could scare her away from him.

Izzayne raised her eyes and locked her gaze with his, the wide ruby orbs calm. She was speechless, lost on what to say. It wasn't everyday that a male kissed her unexpectedly and in such a calm way. She wasn't sheltered, persay. She just lacked experience on that front. She had killed before she had kissed. It was odd to think that she was much more comfortable killing then being in a room with a man who evoked rushed and scrambled feelings from her.

She watched his hand, following it when it placed over hers. Her heart picked up again, the beats trembling through the paper, through her palm and to his. She stayed quiet when he placed her hand on his chest, a soft gasp coming from her lips at the matching beats under both her hands. This was a shared experience. She had no clue what to say to that. Her mind had addled her tongue to sponge, unable to hold words.

"This is.." She looked up at him, eyes uncertain. This was too fast, if she was timid she would have ran. Instead she stayed put, trying to think out her words to be reasonable.

She could feel something profound between them. It transcended times of acquaintances, but it scared her. She wasn't scared of big hulking men who came at her to kill, no, she was scared of whatever was going on between them. It was inescapable and new. It was too sudden. What had the Goddess given them? She stayed still in the kiss once again, her eyes falling to a tender state. He was more taken with this then she was and gently, ever so slowly, she pulled her hands away from his person and clasped them in front of her.

"This is something, Phraktos." She said calmly, raising her gaze to meet him. God, she felt like such a coward. "But can you understand me if I say that it is sudden? That it scares me? I need time to get to know you better, time to think." That sounded reasonable to her ears, not cruel. She moved away and took the papers out, walking over to place them on the table to distract herself, before she looked over at him again.

A million thoughts raced through his mind, as he wondered how she would respond to this. It was rather new for him as well..it was exciting but it was also somewhat frightening. He was starting to doubt himself, and his choice to say something about it so soon after their first meeting.
He should have waited for a better time..when they had better chances of knowing each other better. He realized that now looking at the expressions that were going across her face at his words.

Finally she spoke..and he sighed. He remained still as she ended her speech and tried to still his racing heart. He watched her move away and take the papers out of her shirt, walking slowly over to the table where she put them down. Once at the table she kept her gaze adverted, as though she were scared at how he would respond to her words.

Immediately his tensed skyrocketing nerves began to settle as a decision was firmly placed in his mind. He moved across the floor and took a seat opposite from where she was, indicating for her to take a seat.

Izzayne flicked her gaze over to him when he moved. Her stomach dropped and she suddenly felt awful, scared of what he would say. Would he take it badly and not talk to her ever again? Would he go back to being curt? would he understand and give her time? A million and one scenarios raced through her head when he walked over and took a seat.

She slowly sat down when he indicated for her to do so, her hands gripping the wood of the chair a little. No awkwardness, she was simply worried about his silence. She pursed her lips, her eyes clouding with worry. She had to stop this, she had to be normal around him until she was willing to offer herself to him as a partner. She wasn't ready yet, he was too new. The feelings were too foreign.

She flicked her gaze up to him, patiently waiting for him to talk about whatever he wished.

"I realize Izzayne, that it is all too fast. I agree with you. We should take this..thing between us slowly. I mean to court you properly and with much care, dear Izz. You can count on that." He spoke in a soft tone, his eyes regarding her with evident care.
"I apologize for seeming soo over excited about it. Truth is..I haven't really been with many people and when I realized how in tune we were I let myself go so intense on you. I shall try to keep that from happening again in the future. I just find it so surreal that only two hours ago we didn't know each other existed, were momentary rivals, and now..this!"

After his speech Phraktos fell silent for a moment, before he resorted to business talk.

"Alright..who did you have lined up for buying the narcotic? My fellow was prepared to buy it for over one hundred thousand marks of platinum. I was thinking..perhaps we could copy the recipe down and sell it off twice. No one would know but us." He replied with a toothy grin at the thought of how much gold they could rack in for the narcotic. "or we could just play them off on each other...until one of them gets to a very very high price that would leave us off very wealthy."

Izzayne let relief wash over her expression when he spoke, glad he at least understood her reluctance. She flushed with pleasure at the fact he wished to court her properly, rightly flattered. Today was one of those days that was not easily forgotten in her mind. "No, it's fine. I am...happy you wish to court me, Phraktos." He was going to take his time, he wasn't disheartened by her.

She looked to him and smiled a little, her face falling to neutral when he went to business.

"one hundred-twenty five thousand on my side for the Narcotic alone. We could push for more for the recipe, all things considered." She murmured, picking up the papers to fleetingly examine them. "I agree with the copying. It let's us have our predicted profits without having to split." she murmured. Auctioning it off? "It could be risky."

He didn't miss the relieved look on her face, and was glad that she was happy that he agreed with her. Besides..when one was a drow one did not have to rush things. Drows lived for hundreds of years..courting her should be done slowly and properly. Though..if his Matron was against the match that could be a problem for them. He brightened and grinned when he realized he didn't really have to tell her about it..seeing as his sister did plan on overthrowing the old hag. He momentarily wondered if Izzayne would like to see such an event as it unfolded..he imagined she would find it rather entertaining to say the least. As long as things went the right way concerning his sister he didn't really care what happened to the old Matron.

"I'm glad to hear you say that Izzayne." He replied with a happy grin on his face. "Courting should be a lot of fun. Especially when a thief goes about doing it!" He couldn't help but laugh a little at that. Oh this was going to be fun. He envisioned them street shopping...as in..watching the rich people walk around like walking shops. Izz would point out the jewelry that she liked, and then together they would filch them from their owners. Of course they would be hers to do with as she pleased, so she could keep them to wear or sell as she saw fit.

Phraktos whistled at the amount she shared, and a sudden thought popped into his mind. "hold on..what if we could find some chemist to make the narcotic for us, then we could sell it to the two people who want it and then sell the recipe to someone else? I'm sure my House would back the venture, as long as I didn't tell them that someone else had a copy of the recipe. It would be less risky to us. At least I think so."

Izzayne watched Phraktos, smiling at the grin he had in place. He was a goofball if anything, an affectionate one. She sent him a warm smile at his words, trying to imagine what ways he'd try to court her. The image was funny, affectionate and goofy all in one. She looked forward to it. Just getting to know him and understand him.

"I'd feel better if we got someone reliable and out of the know about what it's street value is. They could run off with the recipe themselves." She was paranoid about it, but that was just her. Everything had a price and came with a desire to be wanted at some point in it's creation. "We can keep a copy of it back ourselves, for future investment. No one said anything about sole rights." She smirked then.

If his house would back it, then she would go with it. Her house would, of coarse. But the pull it had was not phenomenal. She sat back and relaxed a little, finger tapping rhythmically against the wood of the table.
