I wrote this poem to enter into their 'contests.' Ironically, "scam" is one of the words that are not allowed in poems submitted.

Poetry.com a scam?
Tell me Sam?
It can't be true.
Are you sure?
Don't lie Sam!
There's no way it's a scam?
I gave them my money.
I gave them my gold.
And now you're saying,
I got owned?

Hee hee. Is there actually a place in their rules where it says that 'scam' is not allowed in the poems? I went to have a look, and I can't find any rules, but surely if I entered a poem about the beauties of profanity, complete with examples, they wouldn't publish it. I mean, that would ruin the pristine nature of their books! If you find any rules of any sort... Wait, here we go:

Quote:
Note: We respect the right of individuals to freely express themselves in poetry, but we do not accept poetry that is explicitly offensive. Therefore, we ask that poets who submit their work to our contests to be considerate of this policy.

Explicitly offensive? I think you offended the judges with your poem, that's for sure.

If you try to submit a poem with the word "scam" in it, they won't let you submit it.

Ooh, creepy... I have to try that one day. The fact that 'scam' is forbidden has to say something about them, though. Honestly.
