His work here was done! Dragonspine put his hands on his hips and did his best imitation of the classic evil scientist laugh. Several hours earlier, he'd watched carefully from atop a tree as some of the techies hid plastic eggs filled with Easter treats among the plants and equipment of a play yard. He had then marked the location of each one on his map and replaced exactly half of their contents with sticky gooey real eggs. There was sure to be a mess by the end of the day.

His partner knocked him over with a single sweep of his tail. Of all the ornery uncooperative people in the world.. nevertheless, he knelt down for him to climb on. They could hear the happy voices of children coming and L could not suspect their involvement.

Somehow (and he still wasn't exactly sure how), L had managed to talk Garret into helping with the egg hunt. Though the youth was a bit old to participate, he could at least help guide the younger children around. Right? Of course, she'd had to firmly state that he was NOT allowed to throw any sort of weapon at any of the kids. That just wouldn't be good.

Garret scowled as he spotted the group of children happily bouncing about, each ready to go get as many eggs as they could. Whose bright idea had this holiday been? Let's fill fake eggs with candy and let little kids go devour it. Yeah... genius....

Of course, Whitehawk was among the gaggle of bouncing children, though she wasn't quite bouncing herself. Her nature was too reserved to permit such raucous behavior away from home, but her wings were fluttery today and she was smiling brightly. Her sharp eyes had already spotted many flecks of brightly colored plastic within the greenery and she could hardly wait for the sugary delights inside. This was going to be fun!

A flash of black and blue seemed to shoot out in front of the rest of the back as Elliot bounded out ahead of the pack. Childish exuberance radiating from the small boy who’s face was split in a lascivious grin of utter and unspoilt delight. A load of other children, games and then candy. Nothing in this world could better than that. This was really the first time in his short life he had been exposed to such extensive celebration of the holiday as well, usually with his mother and then with Fergus it was a chocolate egg or two then riding on someone poor souls shoulders while eating ice-cream and watching the eaters parade.

It was of course a shame that this fine held tradition would not be upheld but this new event seemed highly promising. He brought himself to a halt and rocked back on his heels as egger eyes tried to pick out where the treats and sharp vision brought a few flashed of misplaced colour here and there. His tail wind milled excitedly behind him as he looked around waiting for someone to say that he could go ahead and fetch the shinnies.

But someone followed him at a distance who did not share the childs glee at the prospect of the egg hunt. Ira was already picturing the sticky state that Elliot would be returned to him in and was far from amused. Plus any influx of sugar of any substantial amount was bound to make the boy even more hyper and uncontrollable, he would defiantly have to check the boys pockets before they left.

As it was he limped in after the gaggle of infants and found a relatively quite spot where he could remain out of the way for the duration. An Old wooden bench much weathered but still solid also provided somewhere to rest while still keeping an eye on his charge.

Caleb grinned as he followed along with the other children who were going to be hunting eggs. His eyes darted about the area, searching for those eggs. They had candy in them, which made them awesome! He glanced over at his daddy and Rex. Too bad Rex couldn't join... but it wasn't fair, his daddy had said. Caleb would just have to save some candy for Rex!

Kaden sighed, knowing that Caleb was bad enough. Caleb on sugar-rush... would be terrifying. Perhaps they'd stop by the park and let the kid run some of it off before going home... The kid would probably terrify Reese...

When they arrived at the play yard, L handed each of the children a colorful plastic bucket. Whitehawk accepted hers with a quiet "Thank you M'am." It was a pale lavender color that reminded her of the waxy covering on a jelly bean and there was big pink ribbon tied onto the white plastic handle. She decided that she liked it and her smile broadened.

"Can we look for the eggs now?" she asked, tugging on L's coat to get her attention. The techie was too busy to reply at the moment and several children had already raced ahead and begun collecting the plastic eggs. Whitehawk glanced longingly after them, but was still patient enough to wait several more minutes. Deciding that she wasn't going to get an answer, she too ran off into the yard.

Elliot was so focused on gathering all the eggs he could visually and remembering where each one was stashed he didn’t noticed L until the tech was practically ontop of him. Blinking he looked up and flashed them a winning smile full of the promise of mischief and took the bucket offered at the same time his fingers slid partly up the techs wrist and as they came away a watch with a silver face was enclosed in his curled fingers. But the tech was to busy to notice. So Elliot assumed that she didn’t mind. Which was nice, probably just that holiday spirit.

He dropped the watch into the bottom of the gathering bucket and raced off to start collecting his eggs and no one else seemed to be waiting there was little point in hanging around for a go signal till all the treats were gone. His hands serched through the tall grass where he had spotted a flash of colour earlier and he claimed his first egg.

Caleb noticed several others start off and thus ran off before L even got to him with a bucket. He got about halfway to the first egg he was headed towards when he realized this. So he turned around and quickly grabbed his own bucket before racing back to the eggs. He used his speed to run past the kids picking up the closest eggs and headed for the middle. Here he'd have less competition!

She knew that this was supposed to be easy, but the bright little things were just everywhere. Whitehawk hardly knew where to start! She reached out and grabbed the first egg she saw, a bright yellow one. She skipped towards a flash of bright pink, and would have missed a pale green one if she hadn't stepped on it. Looking around for the pink egg again..pink was her favorite color after all. Ah, a boy with a long tail had just grabbed the one she wanted.

However, another flash of color caught her eye. There was a pretty blue egg not to far from him and another pink one. Whitehawk hurried to get it, almost crashing into him in the process. "Excuse me!" she blurted, managing to remember her manners despite the excitement. She put both of them carefully into her plastic bucket before looking around for more eggs.

Iamie had been one of the bouncing children, and the moment that L had handed him a pale blue basket, he had muttered thanks and then moved off. This was going to be so much fun!

"Come on, Lukie," he said, motioning for his imaginary friend to follow. "We've got to find some eggs. They're supposed to have candy in them.

He darted off to one of the sides, the one with the least amount of children currently, and scooped up a bright green egg. He set it in his basket, and continued on, looking for more eggs.

This was fun! And easy! The eggs were brightly colored and placed in easy to reach locations. Pretty simple. Even a kid with ADHD could figure this out. As could be proved by Caleb. He already had several eggs in his basket and started towards a bright green one that another kid managed to snatch up first. He headed the other way, spotting a pretty blue egg. Aha! That one would be his!!

Why was he here again? These kids were already starting to annoy him and they'd ignored him. Probably because he'd been glaring at them... plus, their attention was more on the candy-filled eggs they were looking for. But seriously... why was he here? It was an egg hunt. Pretty simple... But seeing as it was L that had asked, he was here. And he'd still be here, for a while at least...

Lios opened his mouth in a wide yawn, scrubbing at his eyes tiredly. Not a night-sleeper by nature, the young boy was feeling rather drowsy being up right now. Still, he was used to having to be awake when he'd much rather be sleeping- when everyone slept opposite to you, you had to get used to it. Fact of life. Plus, it was worth it this time, being up. There was an egg hunt today!

He clutched his cream-colored blankie in one hand, taloned hand gripping the handle of his yellow easter basket. He peered out from under the hood of his sweatshirt, feeling a combination of nervousness at all the new people present and excitement over the event itself. The owlet stood in place awkwardly for a few moments, almost as if he was unsure of what exactly to do. His working wing was pulled in tightly against his back; the damaged wing attempted the same position, but ultimately ended up folding in a considerably less neater fashion, sticking out oddly. He did know what to do- they had egg hunts before at the old orphanage before. He remembered that. He also remembered the bigger kids stealing his eggs when he wasn't looking.

There was just...so many people here! So many he didn't know! So much noise! It was starting to hurt his ears and make him uneasy. He looked left and right to the other kids darting by and snatching up eggs and pulled his arms in a little closer, shifting his weight from foot to foot. As he pushed his glasses up his nose and surveyed the area, he spotted the shine of sunlight on colored plastic in the distance. Oh, how pretty! Momentarily distracted by the bright color, he toddled off to the egg further away.

His choosing the further eggs wasn't so much tactic as it was comfort; there were less people further away. There were others already moving out that way, but it wasn't nearly as chaotic or crowded further away from the starting area. Plus, it was also easier for the boy to see the eggs further off than close up, what with his being far-sighted and all. He ambled off happily, yellow basket swinging and he squatted and started collecting eggs here and there. Maybe this time he'd get a chance to keep some of his eggs without having them pirated away...

Eggs, eggs, eggs. This was actually a lot of fun, but Whitehawk could see that the number of eggs was getting scarce. It wasn't that the eggs were gone per say, but that the other kids had already picked them up. Well, there was only one way to remedy that. As she looked around for more eggs, she also started peeking into other kids' buckets, seeing if she could find a suitable victim. Someone with a lot of eggs who looked like they wouldn't be able to fend her off.
