Physical Description: Jessmet is slight and slender, standing just about 5'2". Her skin is tanned from nineteen years at Ista. She has light brown hair, habitually worn in a braid hanging to her waist. Her face is heart-shaped, with small regular features and a dusting of freckles across her nose. Green eyes are wide-set under prominent brows. She has a slight cleft in her chin and a small gap between her front teeth-- through which she can whistle. Jessmet's standard expression is neutral: she is good at hiding her thoughts and feelings. However, when speaking of something important or interesting, her hands and face become animated with a repertoire of habitual motions, half-smiles and eyebrow-quirks.
Personality: Jessmet is a sensible and no-nonsense kind of girl with a wry sense of humor and moderate intelligence. She works hard and efficiently in the Lower Caverns of the Weyr, although she has no great desire to remain a cook or washerwoman. However, she is hardly ambitious, and somewhat at loose ends. After her mother died, Jessmet briefly entertained the notion of apprenticing herself at the Harper Hall, but realized she lacks the charisma and comfort among crowds required of a performer. Instead she chose to remain in the familiar Weyr in which she had grown up.
She enjoys taking time for herself-- to explore the Weyr, the coves and beaches surrounding it, and the Records room. As such, she is not exactly a loner, but prefers to work in the company of a few like-minded people. Originally, the Recorder drafted her because of her neat handwriting and ability to focus on the moldering manuscripts. Instead, Jessmet became fascinated by the history of the Weyrs and of Pern itself. If given a chance, Jessmet will rattle of tidbits of dragonlore to anyone who will listen. The Records room is her sanctuary when the hustle and bustle of the Lower Caverns gets to be too much.
History: Jessmet has lived in the Weyr for most of her life. Her mother was a failed candidate who became pregnant by an unknown dragonrider. She died when Jess was approaching puberty. Since then, Jessmet has mostly taken care of herself within the Weyr, learning to cook and be generally useful, particularly to the Weyr's Recorder. Generally she flies under the radar, acquiring no particularly close friends or romantic interests. She has stood upon the sands as a candidate several times, without success. Her mother very much wanted her daughter to Impress and Jess tries very hard not to let it bother her that she has not.
Pets: None
Other/Talents: Cooking, cleaning, the very basics of healing. While her formal education was haphazard at best, Jessmet has acquired a lot of random knowledge from her time in the Records room. She has a serviceable light soprano voice, which is largely untrained.

Note: Originally, Jessmet was an NPC-turned-character at the Skies of Pern shop. Her brother L'mur was a HAD greenrider, and she eventually Impressed Green as well. I've done a bunch of tweeking in her character, and really, both of those personalities have been combined here. XD They're sort of non-canon spiritual ancestors.
