{post has been slightly revised}

Hello everyone,

I'm going to be talking to people that hold a rank of expert, that haven't been active in guild to see if they'd like to either a. keep their rank, b. give up their rank.

This is the reason why:

When someone is inactive and takes the rank of expert (of something),it makes it so someone that is active in thread and/guild doesn't have the opportunity to have that rank, as there can be only one type of each expert. So it is encouraged that people with a expert rank be active in thread and/or guild.

If you have any disagreements with my decision, you're welcomed to write it here. I just feel that doing this will help:

1. promote activity within Team Sprocket thread/guild
2. allow expert ranks to go to only those that are active within Team Sprocket.

Thoughts?

- Tyro
Team Sprocket Boss

edit:

I am unable to get in contact with the following people... I am presuming they have had name changes I wasn't aware of. :s

Quote:
AstaOfNakromare The Real Little Demon - Hermes moon expert [EDIT: Has not been on Gaia in months. Inactive.]
Fenny Piper- Alruna Expert [EDIT: Inactive until May 15th. Excused. ]
The Sadist Alice
-TS- Expert Alice - Fallen Wish Expert [EDIT: Active. disregard mention on inactivity list]
J-Hax Makoto- Biancamella Expert

I will be waiting a period of one month to receive responses from people inactive regarding their ranks. If I do not receive a reply by then, and the expert has not posted in thread/guild, I will allow the next person that requests said rank to have it.

My thoughts?
I wouldn't bother with the older EI experts.
I mean, how often do people request to be the Experiment Expert or whatever?

I would bother with the Drome... >>;

Alright, I have sent PMs to the experts that have been inactive. However, there were some I was unable to contact with...

User ImageAh, AstaOfNakromare has had a name change. When I first got my position as Hermes' Expert Apprentice I traced and contacted him. I don't have his username anymore but I could try finding him again if you like?

EDIT: Aha~ After many tedious hours a few minutes of research, I have once again found it. AstaOfNakromare is now known as The Real Little Demon. Joined on page 36 in the thread, became an Expert on page 58. 3nodding

I think experts are a fun way to involve yourself with TS.
I do also think that the titles should only be granted to active members : P

also changing your title should be more difficult xD
People changing it every time a new EI comes out sort of defeats the purpose, I think > 3>

I agree with all this. The whole wishy-washy switcheroo's a little crazy. You shouldn't become the expert because it's a shiny new item and it's gloating rights. The expert should be someone who really loves the item/its line. Same goes with becoming an expert and never hanging. Time restraints make sense, but if you've got it to flaunt it and not... Well, be an active Sprocket, you should kindly resign.

-wipes her forehead- I thought you meant, like, ACTIVE ACTIVE Experts, like setting up dedicated threads. I was like "... I gotta give up my title, eich."

The thing is when people take the position of an expert, it is assumed they have a deep fandom for the said EI. There's no real way to measure how much of a fan someone is of an EI, is there? I mean, if we really want to make sure people aren't getting a expert position for gloating rights, we could administer an examination seeing if they would be proper to fit the role. It would be consistent of short answer questions about why they want the role, do they plan on being active in thread, etc etc. This way (in theory), people that have a interest with the EI will go through the effort of answering the exam questions. You could think of it like an interview similar to what Team Sprocket's scientist candidates have to go through to be accepted as scientists.

Team Sprocket is a fairly easy-going and relaxed group. I don't want people to feel pressured to post, however, I still encourage they drop an occasional post in guild/thread to let people know they're still interested in being members of Team Sprocket. xD;;;; Every post helps keep the guild and thread alive... 3nodding

Personally, I'd hold the expert position until the item ends.
I mean, sure, I've changed my title a lot. I think I've changed it the most, actually. But you don't really 'know' and EI until its over.
If it was held until the end, people would want the title cause they like it, not cause its new.

Since I checked my PM box really early this morning/late last night, I've received three responses. Ming-Yue and Hitoshi are keeping their ranks, and Hitoshi now has the rank of Inari Beads Expert. I will be updating the memberlist about this later. iNuregami has stepped down from the rank of corallus expert.

I will be updating the first post within the next couple of weeks as I receive replies/updates on the matter. 3nodding

Omg! I thought I had made an announcement in the fanthread:

Aya's internet seems to be all screwy. First, her power went out, they got it back, but now she's saying that her internet has been going screwy.

She has called me complaining about it. I am so sorry! emo
