I am a fan of both of the series and I just can't decide which is better. I like the HON series in the way that it goes over more of the aspects of a teenage life whereas Twilight is just the whole romance thing. What are your opinions?

I think that the HON series is WAY better than Twilight. I mean, don't get me wrong, I kinda like Twilight, but I thinks its getting very overrated. Atleast, thats my opinion.

Personally I prefer the romantic aspect of the Twilight saga but you can't really compare the to IMO. They are both really good in their own ways.

In my opinion, HON is like Twilight on steroids. Let me explain: Twilight is a decent series. Hell, I'm pretty obsessed with it myself. However, it's mostly centered around Bella's infatuation with Edward [which isn't a problem with me, lol]. There isn't much fighting in the series, well, not intense description of it anyway. Also, Bella is quite chaste. She's a 'good girl', and Edward doesn't exactly want to break her. So yeah, there goes the fun stuff. But, all in all, Twilight is quite entertaining if you're looking for Vamp fluff.
Now, this is where the steroids come in. HON has everything Twilight has, and then more. It has action, romance [smut too], and cool vamp-ness. However, there is a lot more action, violence, and very descriptive gore. The romance [if you can call it that, haha] is much more intense, as well as the drama that comes with it. The vampyres are also very different. Their society is much more structured, and the whole idea of their species is completely different from their characteristics to the feelings humans have toward them.
I like both the series equally, however they are very different from each other. But still, I think they're damn good : D

I like them both equally. The way I look at it, you have to look at them for what they are. Twilight is a romance fantasy. It's going to have more to do with infatuation, and not so much with violence. The House of Night series on the other hand is for a more mature, and less literate, reading community which is looking for action, as well as a new twist on the classic vampire lore. So it really depends on what you looking to read. Do you wish to expand your vocabulary while enjoying the romantic flow of a teenage girl's love, or would you rather get your heart racing with the action packed tale of a girl who's life changes with a change in race and the start of an entirely new life. No matter the case, both Stephanie Meyer and the Casts are incredibly talented writers.

House of Night, hands down. Twilight really was ruined by the last book, Meyer didn't want to kill anybody so was like "Ahh! There's going to be this HUGE fight and we have to prepare in case we die" and on and on, and then nothing happened, and to make up for Jacob's loss he got the human-vampire freak (no offense to Renesmee). House of Night actually has action and all, not just the last few words in the thesaurus to describe Edward.

I'd say House Of Night because of how the authors include a uniqueness of having a Boarding School, Dark Daughters/Dark Sons and etc.
Twilight apparently doesn't have this type of details that I would prefer to read, even though it includes romance.*sigh*
Twilight's last book I believed ruined everything. I was expecting something bloody or fight-like to happen but instead, it's all "All's fair, Love and War" or something like that.
HoN is the best series that I have read.

okay, now i think that the HON series is way better. i mean, twilight it's all about love, love. and AHHH!!! crazy vampires trying to kill you. but HON is all about what is actually like to be a vampire. not saving someone you love like 20 times and being overprotective. i think that the HON series really helps you understand what she is going through. and overall it is more interesting
