About R'dan Name: R'dan Age: 15 Sex: Male (homosexual) Craft: N/A Rank: Weyrling Physical Description: On the shorter side of the group, Riordan is often mistaken for being younger than he actually is. His brown hair is torn between being curly or straight and often goes with a sort of "not been brushed" look instead. Bright green eyes flick about as they take in details about him. Personality: Riordan is your typical sweet guy. Shy and rather quiet, he's often overlooked in groups. He doesn't stand out much and tends to prefer this. While not the top of his group in classes or physical abilities, he's not at the bottom either. He works hard to keep up, not wanting to fall behind.

R'dan's History Riordan was Searched two Turns ago from Ista Hold for Ista Weyr. Since then, he's stood at two Impressions and unfortunately has not yet Impressed. He's tired of people telling him that his dragon just hasn't hatched yet and debated giving up the dream of being a dragonrider to return to his Hold. Unable to face those he'd left behind two Turns ago with the promise of being a dragonrider one day, he stayed at the Weyr, hoping that he'd Impress before he turned too old to stand.
All that changed at the hatching of Vesonth's clutch. There he met his lifemate, the one he'd been waiting for. His Coatlicueth.

The Jackal Egg
A primarily grey and mottled egg, the Jackal Egg is medium-small, and splashed with liberal amounts of tan. The speckles themselves on the grey are an ecru color, almost like bone. There is no distinct, set pattern to this egg- on the whole, it seems rather chaotic. It’s another egg that doesn’t have wide appeal, but to the right Candidate, it seems full of promise. The size could be several different colors, really, and its position in the clutch, near the edge, is no indicator of what lies inside. There’s a rusty red bit of color on the side facing the sand that sometimes shows when the Queen turns the egg. It looks almost like blood. The JackalJackals fill a similar ecological niche to the coyote in North America, that of predators of small to medium-sized animals, scavengers, and omnivores. Their long legs and curved canine teeth are adapted for hunting small mammals, birds and reptiles. Big feet and fused leg bones give them a long-distance runner's physique, capable of maintaining speeds of 16 km/h (9.9 mph) for extended periods of time. They are crepuscular, most active at dawn and dusk.
In jackal society the social unit is that of a monogamous pair which defends its territory from other pairs. These territories are defended by vigorously chasing intruding rivals and marking landmarks around the territory with urine and feces. The territory may be large enough to hold some young adults who stay with their parents until they establish their own territory. Jackals may occasionally assemble in small packs, for example to scavenge a carcass, but normally hunt alone or as a pair.
The Ancient Egyptian god of embalming and the underworld, Anubis, was depicted as a man with a jackal's head. Today they are one of the more commonly seen animals on safaris, and are found outside of national parks and do well in human altered landscapes and even near and in human settlements.

About Coatlicueth Green CoatlicuethWhere Haanyath achieves what she wants through brute force, Coatlicueth does so through guile and manipulation. It isn’t to say that she’s a wicked dragon, for dragons are incapable of those very human emotions. No, Coatlicueth just likes to get what she wants, and is a bit of a brat in that case. She’ll do anything to try and twist others into getting her what she desires, and she’s fully capable of running over a weaker minded rider. She’s an intelligent, forceful green, but she’s prone to temper tantrums, even as an adult. She can’t be trusted as any sort of leadership position- she’ll just laze around once she has the power, expecting everyone to do what she asks them to.
On the flip side, when Coatlicueth is not acting like a brat, she can actually be a rather grounded and rational dragon- just don’t apply that to anything that has to personally do with her. She’s good at figuring out the emotional complexities her rider might go through as a young man or woman, as long as she has no personal opinion on the dragon involved with the other person. She probably would not stand to have her rider involved with someone that isn’t a rider, but other than that, she’s actually quite open minded. Whatever gender her rider prefers is of no consequence to Coatlicueth- personally, she prefers browns, but color is not as important to her as build and how easily they’ll fall into the smell of her faceted eyes.
Coatlicueth is the typical size for a green- not too small, or too large. Her build is rather rangy, and while she has perfectly serviceable muscles, they aren’t very visible. She has a tendency to look too skinny, no matter how much she eats- and Coatlicueth eats. This green is a bottomless pit, and she makes no efforts to hide that fact. Eating like a proper lady is overrated. It won’t fill her stomach, which is always far too empty. You would think her rider abuses her, from the way she can carry on.
In a wing, Coatlicueth is useful for twisting her body in midair to catch stray bits of Thread. Her long limbs and long body allow her to make sudden turns, even if they’re not all that graceful looking. She’ll listen to her superiors, though she may question some of their decisions. There’s a hidden fire in the green that’s always at the surface, never manifesting itself into full rebellion, but lurking there none the less.
In Flight, as stated before, Coatlicueth seems to have a preference for browns, but she’s just as likely to be caught by any other color. In general, she prefers males with a more robust body type than herself, and ones that will listen to whatever she says and go along with it. She doesn’t want a smart, spirited male- she wants a dull one that will listen to her and do what she says. Ah well. The Aztec Goddess CoatlicueCOATLICUE: Goddess of Earth and Fire. Has terrible dress sense. Wears a skirt of writhing snakes and a necklace of human hands and hearts. Also has claws and a double snake head.
She's known as the Mother of the Gods, and her offspring shot to the top of the pantheon. Her sons are QUETZALCOATL and XOLOTL, her daughter is COYOLXAUHQUI, and she also gave birth to HUITZILOPOCHTLI in very suspicious circumstances.Oh God, Why Me?Being just your 'typical sweet guy', Riordan could use an edge, and Coatlicueth could use calming down. The pair work on a system of checks and balances, helping Riordan come out of his shell, and Coatlicueth retreating a little bit back into hers. Which is a good thing, really.

Relationships Conomor: A boy he met at the Gather at Ista hold. Weyrbred, but rather nice. They spent some time looking for a necklace for Conomor's fostermother and then grabbed some food and talked about the upcoming Hatching. Kella: Seems to have a bit of a "I'm better than you" attitude... Lynna: A rather nice girl. She's good.
