I've been thinking of reading yaoi. Just to try it out. I was anti-yaoi before, but now I want to try and read...
I was thinking of reading the Junjou series, but my friends told me that it was too graphic...
Could someone please suggest a mild yaoi story that I can read? Thank you. ^^ I am the most precious rose...

Hum, there is yaoi's put out by JUNE but most of them are shonen ai type stuff. (which I love heart )
Let's see. Here are some I have read: Only the Ring Finger Knows, Jazz is okay (not my fav), FAKE, Our Kingdom is okay, there is one on the lines of "II gatto del sol G" about a violenist.
That's all I have for now. I can get you better titles later. (It's late) lol

There's a slight difference between Shonen ai and Yaoi. If I were you, I'd go ahead for the June ones like Yama suggested. For now, stay away from Blu publishing (It's slightly more graphic than June.) DMV manga is similar to June. If you pick up anything that says 18+ on the back, or is in wrap, there is a higher chance that there will be highly graphic scenes. if it says 16+ on the back, you can expect something like... just kissing or something.
Sometimes you can get the best of both worlds. The graphics are a little bit more intricate, but the story is still very sweet. I really liked "Lies and Kisses" by Masara Minase. DramaQueen publishing has a tendency to focus more on the plot I believe. If you get something like "Skyscrapers of Oz," you may not appreciate it as much.
If you're looking for something really soft, I would also advise that you look into some of the artwork done by Mikiyo Tsuda such as "Princess Princess" or Day of Revolution. Those are more of a soft transition because the main character has a biological gender ...discover. Lol
I'm trying to remember my bookshelves... I have them all lined up in my closet away from the light and the sun. Hopefully it'll keep the calcium in the paper longer. >.< (Is why your books turn yellow~)
Lol and yes, I do have Finder Series 1-3. The collection is pretty much my baby. heart I bought each book on amazon originally for less than $11 according to my transaction log.

I love Princess Princess! ^_^ And Gravitation. Princess Princess was just barely shonen ai though. Gravitation is a great one if you don't want tons of graphic sex. Fake...I got scared away from because a friend had a volume (#4 I think) and was like, "OMG HUGE PEEN!!!" and I was like, "Oh god why are you sticking that in my face!!!??? crying " It was traumatizing lol

Lol, it's true. Princess Princess was a good "kindly escort me very slowly into the realm of what could possibly be shonenai. kthnx." I read Day of Revolution first, and I think I would prefer it in that order. I haven't read fake. Everyone keeps saying that it's kind of hard core.... err? Should I read it? is it good?
Haven't read Gravitation either x)

I have boundries when reading yaoi. Right now I am reading Camera, Camera, Camera and Only the Ring Finger Knows when I can find them. However, I am also a fan of some fan-made yaoi manga and stories, but even there I draw a line. I am very picky, even if my boyfriend and friends don't think so.

So, it's been only a little while, but I'm curious. Which titles did you choose, and what did you think of them?

It depends on mood on what I will read. The two I said in my previous post I have been reading because A: those are the ones I can find in the book store and B: I am really into the story lines. So, yeah, I guess my mood and aviablility.

So I'm one of the few (but actually many, most wont admit it though) guys who read yaoi. sweatdrop
I actually stay away from a majority of the shonen-ai stuff because A LOT of that borders on shota which I am SO not into. *involuntary shudder*
I've read a lot of the stuff by BeBeautiful publishing (they did Viewfinder) but their website is currently down and as far as I can tell they aren't making any new prints (hence Viewfinder Series 4 and 5 aren't out yet). I'm actually a fan of Blu because they pick all the funny ones like Wild Rock and Man's Best Friend and they also do Love Mode (my fav yaoi from when it was on Sakura-Crisis).
All of these are hardcore though, so not for the easily disturbed. xd And by hardcore, I mean borderline pornographic. But all of the ones I listed have a REALLY good plot...which is really all I need to read a book. LOL
