So, I've been smoking semi-casually for about a year and a few months now and I was wondering: Anyone else here smoke?
If so:
What are your favorite brands? How long have you been smoking? Tried quitting? Why?
I myself am a Marlboro man, my favorite's being Marlboro reds. A close second would be Benson & Hedges menthol. I've tried quitting I would say twice because of health reasons and such, but after a few weeks, months or whatever I go right back to it. As of now I rarely smoke, mostly while drinking. But I don't dare say I've "quit".
Anyone here care to share their experiences?

I started smoking a few years ago; smoked a few different brands of tailors over the years ranging from kent blue to malboro red, B&H red, camel, longbeach yellow... These days I smoke hand-rolled port royal. Nicest tobacco out there. Tastes like desert sun.
I smoke less then I used to, but still quite heavily.

I love hand-rolled smokes, but I can't stand the rolling process. I get antsy when it comes to rolling up a joint, and since I smoke to relieve stress, I don't really like to wait.

Like a chimney, really... well, not so much as that anymore, actually. XD I love clove cigarettes, actually -- tobacco just doesn't taste that good to me. My particular love is Djarum Specials, though Blacks are alright. A friend once gave me a (tin) pack of Djarum regulars, which were pure clove and unfiltered... and let me tell you, about halfway through I felt just about stoned. o_O; They were definitely tasty, though.
I go without my cloves for stretches now and then, but honestly, I don't want to quit. There's not much tobacco in the ones I smoke, so I suppose I'm not actually physically addicted -- not enough nicotine for that, I guess. It's pretty much all mental. I want my smokes, but I don't need them.
... That said, I'm going outside for a bit. XD

And I've never really heard of clove cigarettes, but apparently they are comparable in health damage to regular smokes. They just taste better and are "less appealing" to the youth than regular smokes. That having been said, I am very curious to try them out. Though they sound quite pricey.

Well, strictly speaking, a psychological addiction is much more tricky than a physical one. You can use physical means to treat physical problems, but a psychological addiction is about as easy to treat as a phobia -- that is, it's practically incurable, and just trying to treat it is very difficult.
I don't know about them being comparable in damage, though -- apparently, it's quite common for regular clove smokers to begin coughing up blood after a few years. I've never had that happen to me, but then again, I tend to puff more than inhale, since it's the taste I like. Kind of like how you'd smoke a cigar.
Around here, people tend to associate cloves with goths -- mostly because Djarum Blacks are... well, black. Goths can smoke them and not only do the stogies color-coordinate with their ensemble, but the smell is strong enough that... well, goths aren't known for great hygiene, honestly. XD The ones I smoke are brown, though, so I guess I'm just as guilty of color-coordinating my smokes with my clothes. ^^
Price-wise... ugh. I found one smoke shop near my parents' where I can get a pack for six bucks (and Marlboro reds are four, just for comparison), but at the Seven-Eleven, it's more like seven-fifty a pack. On the other hand, ground clove is much denser than tobacco leaves, so you could probably smoke two reds in the time it takes me to smoke one clove. I guess that balances the price out.

True. It's very rare for me to actually feel the need to smoke. It's mostly my mind, not my body asking for Nicotine. Though a mental addiction is still an addiction.
Djarum Black cigarettes sold in United States, Europe, Canada and South American countries have 10–12mg tar and 1mg nicotine, as indicated on the pack. This level of tar and nicotine is comparable to the majority of other regular or "full-flavor" cigarettes available. However, Djarum Black cigarettes produced for consumption in Indonesia contain a significantly higher quantity of Tar and Nicotine, 25mg and 1.6mg respectively. In Canada, Djarum Black cigarettes are listed as containing 42.2–76mg of tar and 1.88–3.39mg of nicotine, a significant amount more than most other cigarettes.
Here it's the same. Newports are usually the brand of choice for "kakos" (stereotypical Reggaeton fans), Marlboros and Winstons tend to go to older people, and Benson and light cigarettes go for women and young people.
Good to know about the prices. I also dig some digging, and they sell Djarum Black's here in PR, all I gotta do now is find a store near here.

And would save for money if I bought drugs instead of cigs. Hell, I also discovered MJ to be a strong contender for a sbustitute and cheaper. Ain't nothing better for bothers of the mind to be soothed and solved than a good joint.
