RIDER INFORMATION
Name: L'rir
Age: 25
Sex: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual (though he's not past making jokes about 'playing for the other team' to get a rise out of someone)
Rank: Wingrider (after he becomes incapacitated, he tends to be more of a Search rider and general chauffeur, as he's no longer allowed to fight Thread with his injuries)

Physical Description:
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 160lbs
Hairstyle: Like most dragon riders, L'rir keeps his hair short, keeping it to above his earline. The hair surrounding the burn scars on his face flair up (quite uncontrollably), and are also a lighter tint than the rest of his hair from a bit of distorted pigmentation.
Hair Color: Near Black, with a reddish-brown hint to it.
Eyes: Milk Chocolate brown
Skin Tone: Heavily Tanned (practically Hispanic in tone).
Scars: The right side of L'rir's face, arm, and upper thigh are badly burned from an accident during a practice flight for Thread training. His right-side being dominant, the scars never healed well, and he lost much mobility in his right hand and arm, and can only open his right eye up halfway (not that he can see with it).
Build: Before his accident, he used to be more bulked up with muscle after constant workouts, but has since let it fade. He still keeps in relatively good shape, and has nice toned muscles. His arms are proportionally shorter in compassion to most bodies (though not too terribly noticeable), along with a short torso, so most of his height is in his legs. His fingers are long, and his hands used to have well developed callouses from working with leather (though he has since lost the ability).
Voice: A baritone-bass that tends to be light-hearted in speech, and heavy in laughter.

Personality: L'rir is a guy who tries not to let things bother him, and always looks at the cup half full (although if it's a cup of klah, he'll down that half and have another!). He takes everything in stride, both the good and the bad. Rather than feeling sorry for himself after the accident, he merely uses it to tell the young Weyrlings, "This is what not to do." Life is meant to be lived, and to truly live you need to enjoy life; this is the personal philosophy he lives by.
He always tries to keep a smile on his face, since, from his experience, it's infectious. If he sees people looking down in the dumps, he feels compelled to cheer them up. How he goes about it, is another matter. Half the time he attempts to make them laugh, the other half he makes some asinine jokes or comments to get a rise out of the person (and, well, if he can even seize the chance to get a rise out of a person, no matter what the circumstance, he'll probably take advantage of it). Whether or not the recipient realizes that L'rir just helped them get out of their stupor, having got their mind off their troubles usually offers them a bit of relief, even if only temporary.
L'rir's always been self-sufficient, trying to do everything for himself by himself, though now with his right arm the way it is, he's had to learn to accept a helping hand when he needs it (but he'd sooner be scored by Thread than use that sharding cane the Healers are always pushing on him!). He hates when people try to fuss over him because of the accident, and is constantly telling people he's already put it behind him so there's no need to fret. The rider who had burned him was constantly fussing over him and his injuries during the healing process, and finally L'rir couldn't take it anymore and punched him with his left fist and proclaimed, "There! Now we're even." They've been friends ever since.
Despite his normally jovial outlook on life, there are still times when he feels a pain in his chest seeing people looking at his grotesque scars and being disgusted. He waves it off, saying they're not even people to be bothered with if they can't get past his physical appearance, but it still does hurt...He also regrets that he'll never get to fight Thread when it comes. Whenever he starts feeling too depressed though, he'll go find the nearest water source and dunk his head in it to clear it of anymore bad thoughts.

History: Linrir grew up in Southern Boll Hold before he was Searched. A rather bustling community in the warmer climate, he often helped tend the massive amounts of crops that grew there, it being only natural since his folks and eight other siblings did the same. With Southern Boll being one of the major Holds, the sight of dragons landing to talk with the Lord Holder wasn't uncommon, but when Blue Ildath and his rider T'kim Searched him as being worthy of standing on the Sands at hatching, neither he nor his family could quite believe it. At 13 Turns, he first stood on the Sands, only to be rejected for the next multitude of Hatchings.

For the Turns before his Impression, he was bound and determined to attend every hatching until someone kicked him out of the Weyr. In the meantime, he kept himself in shape in preparation, and started learning from some of the senior dragon riders about the Leathercraft needed to provide for your own dragon. He also built himself a little reputation as a prankster and 'class clown'. For the other candidates he got to know over the Turns, he was always there to console them when they didn't Impress, giving encouraging words like, "Your dragon's just making wait is all!" or "So you think you're good enough to Impress, do ya? *head locks and rumbles with*"
It wasn't until he was 18 that he finally impressed his Brown, Toreth, and became L'rir.

Sadly, during a routine training exercise to practice battling Thread that would soon be upon Pern, just a few Turns after he'd been appointed to a Fighting Wing, he made a serious miscalculation. When going between to avoid some "Thread", he and Toreth reappeared right behind another clump of "Thread", which another Brown had just started to flame. They didn't have time to maneuver completely out of the way, and both dragon and rider were burned on their right sides. Toreth managed to turn to take the brunt of the attack away from his beloved rider, and ended up with his right shoulder, neck, and face badly scorched. They immediately returned to their Weyr, having enough sense through the pain to get where someone could help them. L'rir felt Toreth's pain more than his own, and desperately called out to the minds of other dragons to send help before he fell into unconsciousness from the pain while riding over the Weyr.

Over the next few weeks, L'rir only remembered waking up, screaming in pain, his body burning with a sensation unlike he'd ever felt in his life, before falling away from consciousness once again. About a month after the incident, he was finally able to stay awake. Still in great pain, the first conscious thought was to call out to his Toreth and pray for an answer back. Toreth gently answered him back, and L'rir weeped out of his left eye in relief. He learned from the Healers and apprentices that soon after coming out of between above the Weyr, Toreth's wings gave out over the Bowl, but luckily, before he fell too far, a Bronze and Brown dragon assisted him down to the ground. L'rir made a mental note to find those two dragons later and thank them.

L'rir was constantly bandaged, numbweeded, fellis juiced, and bedridden for the better part of a few months, with the Healers constantly berating him when he tried to get out of bed. More than anything he wanted to be close to Toreth in this time of great pain, for he could feel his life partner's pain as well. Although it's not uncommon for riders or dragons to get a bit bashed around during training exercises, L'rir and Toreth's injuries were particularly bad. Neither had full function of their right eyes or arms anymore, due to the laceration of the tendons from the searing heat of the burn (L'rir often jokes that they have matching scars), and with an eye incapacitated, it made Toreth unable to take part in the Fighting Wing anymore, as he'd be useless in real Threadfall.

For quite a while, L'rir became addicted to the numbing Fellis Juice. When he realized this, he suffered through the worst of the pain, telling the Healers to not give him anymore, no matter how much he wanted. Stopping cold turkey, and through stubbornness and sheer force of will, he was able to overcome it (that and dunking his head in water whenever he felt the urge to have more helped considerably in keeping his sanity). Emotional support from his friends and Toreth comforted him through the whole ordeal, though if anyone got too sappy he made sure to tell them that was enough of that (with a wink of course). He also once entertained the thought that his brown Toreth just might catch a Queen one day, although it was quite a miraculous occurrence, but those far-fetched fantasies were quickly dashed during his recovery period. Still, once he was well enough to walk (at least by his standards, the Healers practically had to tie him to his bed), he spent most of his time recovering near his Toreth, wanting to share the pain they both felt.

Even Turns after the accident, L'rir still walks with a slight limp, and has trouble grasping small items with his right hand (much less doing any intricacies with it). With his right side being dominant, it took a bit of physical therapy to get used to using his left hand, and even now he can't use it as well as he used to with his right (though he has gotten considerably better). He still has great trouble with tasks that require two hands, even simple tasks like peeling vegetables is beyond him, and he can't lift anything with his right arm. His injuries make it impossible for him to move his right arm backwards behind him, higher than a 45 degree angle in front of him, and he cannot bend his elbow more than 90 degrees. He does still retain a degree of mobility in twisting his wrist, but that's about the extent of what his right arm can do. Periodically the pain in his leg will flair up and he requires a cane to walk properly (which he loathes, and would rather walk through the pain than have to rely on the cane...which always gets him smacked by the Healers when he comes crying to them later...). The loss of his right eye has also hampered his judgment in distance, since he can now only see 2D. Years of living with two eyes, he can usually assume how close or far away something is, but there has been more than one occasion where he's run into a wall, or had a shoulder clip a doorway.

Pets: N/A

Other/Talents: Sometimes, when chauffeuring Lord Holders or those of high rank, because of past scorn, he'll wear a large eye patch that encompasses most of the right side of his head. He started doing this after punching a Lord Holder's heir for insulting him and his dragon (The heir was in the wrong, calling it beneath him to be carried by such 'malformed creatures').

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Toreth
Color: Brown
Physical Description: Toreth is a Dark Tawny Brown, with slightly lighter colored legs and V marking on his forehead. He also has slightly darker spotted dappling on his back. Toreth has burn scars from the accident along the right side of his face, neck, and shoulder/arm area, with his right eye being unusable, and scared over).
Personality: Toreth tends to be a very vocally expressive dragon, crooning loudly when L'rir oils him, roaring when excited, yawning loudly when tired, the list goes on. He seems to have the same sense of humor as his rider, often shadowing L'rir's laughter with his own deep, gutteral chortling. Even when he doesn't understand what's so amusing, he's just happy when L'rir's happy. Toreth also has a bit of a temper when it comes to other humans bullying his rider (mostly those that scorn L'rir's appearance), and asks L'rir if he can flame them. L'rir always shrugs off his dragons threats, telling him they're not worth his flame, and consoles him by saying that they'll probably get Threadscored when Thread finally returns. L'rir always appreciates his life partner's protective concern, and Toreth gets much self satisfaction out of guarding him (however ineffective or unneeded as it may be).
Toreth enjoys rolling around on Ista's sandy beaches, and splashing water on any passerby (a habit he probably picked up from L'rir). Whenever L'rir walks around outside the Weyr, Toreth usually follows him around like a puppy dog, just enjoying their time together. And though he may never tell L'rir, one of the few memories etched into his Long Term memory was of their recovery period together. He felt closer to L'rir then more than another other time in his life, which filled him with incredible bliss.
Other: Like L'rir, after the accident, Toreth also has some limited mobility in his right arm and neck. He can't turn his head left very far past dead center, and can't fully raise, nor fully extend his right arm, forcing him to walk with a slightly awkward gait.

(as a note: Princess_Feylin and I have discussed RP plots together, and, when her Ennrik Impresses [whenever that may be XD], he will become the dragon rider who burned L'rir [which means whatever color he Impresses will be substituted for the 'bronze']. So in the beginning he will not start out with the scars, but will get them after Ennrik starts training with firestone :3 [his history and everything was made before Fey volunteered to be the guilty-conscienced dragon rider, and we both felt it'd be fun to RP their disaster-turned-friendship out!])

~RPs and Relations~

Ollin - transported the Scribe to the Weyr. Left on bad terms (at least, from Ollin's point of view)

Brynne and Ixtabth - Dropped in on them outside the Weyr.
