Brynne sighed, scratching her Dragonet's eyeridge carefully - she was still afraid of accidentally poking her in the eye and damaging the precious organ. Ixtabth seemed almost a little relaxed, head extended forwards on her elongated neck, to where it sat below Brynne's hand. The end of her tail twitched as purr-like sounds rumbled in her throat, tongue just sticking out of her lips. "Ixtabth?" questioned Brynne, causing the Green to tilt her head, opening one eyeridge to gaze intently at her Rider with swirling green eyes of contentment. Her paler maw was almost stretched in a smile, although Brynne knew better. The young Dragon was all too worried to really smile - it made her sad, to think that Ixtabth might never smile. But that wasn't how she should think - the young Dragon would learn, eventually. Brynne would teach her.
Yes, Mine? Ixtabth prompted, rousing Brynne form the light daydream she'd been having. Brynne's own lips stretched into a smile as the stroked Ixtabth's neck fondly, hand pausing between her shoulders. "We should go find a few of your siblings. You need to socialize more."
Ixtabth's eyes faded to a more yellow shade of green, though she remained silent for a while, just watching Brynne carefully. Eventually, she spoke, a resigned tone of voice speaking into Brynne's mind. But why, Mine? It's so scary - it's safer here, 'cause there's no-one to hurt us. We could get hurt by my siblings! They might squish me because I'm small, or hurt you, even if by accident! And that can't happen! So why bother?
Brynne sighed a little, looking away from her dragon, who arched her neck a little in order to push her nose fondly into Brynne's hand, as if to comfort her Rider and let her know everything was fine. But everything wasn't fine. Ixtabth's had such a morbid outlook on life - it saddened Brynne to think that the Green saw no point in living life.

L'rir was out and about, avoiding his Wingleader for the umpteenth time, this time to evade a lecture about how to properly transport new staff to the Weyr and take them where they need to go. Finding his lectures to be less than enjoyable, which often included him getting thumped on the head a few times, he was escaping to the outside of the Weyr.
Sadly, his escape attempt this time was hampered by the fact that a large brown dragon was following behind him like a puppy dog. Where are we going, BrotherMine? Is this a game? Toreth had enjoyed games of hide and seek when he'd still been a hatchling. Now that he'd grown, the enjoyment hadn't faded, but L'rir had yet to fully pound into Toreth's brain that since he was so big now, it'd be next to impossible to really 'hide'.
"Yes, yes, it's a game. We're trying to hide from D'tai." L'rir overemphasized looking in all directions for the Wing Leader. Toreth, ever the copycat, also looked around to try and spot the Wing Leader. I do not see him BrotherMine. Perhaps we are doing well! L'rir patted the dragon's shoulder. "Indeed we are My Brother. Now we just have to be quiet and sneak around until he gives up finding us!" L'rir got a mischievous grin on his face. Toreth trumpeted in his joy of the fun they were having, and L'rir grimaced at the loud sound. He held up a finger to his lips, "shhhh, quietly..." To which, Toreth responded with a quieter trumpet.
------
L'rir bounded over the next outcropping of rocks that made up the base of the Weyr, however, when he was jumping down the other side, he was quite surprised to see a young girl and small green hatchling directly on his predicted landing spot. It would certainly be a mess to crash into them, so with a split second decision in mid-air, he pushed with his right foot off the back of the rocks and sailed right over them. The push had turned him so he was going head first into the ground, so he stuck out his hands, and proceeded to roll less than gracefully into a landing that winded him up on his back. The wind was knocked out of him from the impact, and he coughed a few times before sitting up.
He looked over at the two young ones, apologizing, "Sorry 'bout that little ladies, didn't see you there." He gave them a big, well-meaning grin. Toreth took that moment to climb up on the rock outcropping L'rir had just descended from, and looked down upon his rider and others he was with. He gave a concerned thrumming sound for his rider, asking, Are you all right, BrotherMine?
"I'm fine, My Brother." He said with a bit of a laugh at his own foolishness.
(just as a note, L'rir and Toreth haven't had their burn accident yet :3 )

Not good. Nooooot good at all. The fragile-minded Ixtabth had begun to relax a little, content being alone with her rider in a peaceful spot outside the Weyr. But then the sound of something falling above her...and suddenly something dropping directly in front of her and her Rider...well, it didn't do wonders for her state of mind. The Dragonet gave a loud, frightened squeal, instantly scrabbling to her feet and starting to run. Where to, nobody knew, but as long as it was away from there. Monster! Run away, Mine!
Brynne herself had also been surprised by the sudden appearance of a man, but not nearly as badly as her Dragon. Worry suddenly coursing through her veins, the female suddenly all too clearly aware of the prospect of her Dragon fleeing between, she struggled to get a grip on Ixtabth's scattered, petrified mind, attempting to smother the frightened thoughts with simpler, nicer ones - of the two sunning themselves gently, or of their Impression. Of anything but the current situation, basically. Neither had really acknowledged L'rir or Toreth, Ixtabth too focused on escaping whilst Brynne was too focused on keeping her Dragon under control. However, her stubborn will prevailed, Ixtabth giving a mournful cry as she dived back towards her Rider, burying her head into Brynne's lap where it remained, her whole body shaking as Brynne leaned down, holding her Green closely and whispering soothing words into her ear.
"Ssssh - I'm here, little one. You're safe. Nothing will hurt you, not while I'm here. I'll protect you, Ixtabth~"
The violent shivering slowly diluted to a less violent form, though didn't stop completely. However, it seemed the darkness of Brynne's clothing blinding Ixtabth calmed the youngster a little, allowing her peace. Once she was sure her Dragon was safe once more, Brynne looked up to L'rir with a weak smile - it had suddenly occured to her that she was exhausted. She had to keep a better lookout - people suddenly appearing wasn't good for hers nor Ixtabth's health.
"I...s-sorry," she began, surprised by how shaky her voice was. That moment had suddenly brought about the seriousness of Ixtabth's fears to light, and she was scared. Seriously scared. But she couldn't let Ixtabth's know that, so attempted to shield the fear from her Dragon, exerting only calm, soothing thoughts. "S-She...I..."
She was actually lost for words.

L'rir was taken aback at the sudden fright of the young dragonet. Despite the fact that he wasn't as empathetic as other riders, even he could feel the terror radiating from the little green. He actually sat there on the ground stunned for a moment while the young rider calmed her dragon. It wasn't until the girl apologized that L'rir came back to his senses.
"Oh no, no need for apologies." He waved his hands in front of himself to dismiss it. "If anyone should be apologizing it should be me. I didn't mean to give your little one such a fright. I'm terribly sorry!" Rather than stand up or go over to apologize, he felt it'd be better for the little green if he remained sitting where he had landed. He silently sent a thought to Toreth to keep silent and out of sight. I understand, BrotherMine. She is very scared. Toreth ducked his head back behind the rock outcropping, and did his best not to make any noise, which, for him, was extremely difficult.
On L'rir's end, he tried to project calm, happy thoughts, and memories of him and Toreth on the sandy beaches of Ista. "No need to fear, Little One. I'm not here to hurt you or anyone else." He almost added that he was trying to escape a monster himself, but thought better of it, not wanting the pair to think a real monster was coming after him. "Now, then, I'm L'rir, rider of brown Toreth. Who might you two be?"
