What's your fav. DCI and why?
Did your BD march for DCI?
My fav DCI is Phantom and Santa Clara Vanguard.
My BD's marched for the Phantoms, Blue Devils, Santa Clara, and Cavaliers.
My Bd was a DM for Santa Clara.

I went to DCI in San Antonio this past season and LOVED it. My fav was Phantom though... they didn't win, Santa Clara did.

I'm going to have to say my favorite is the Cavaliers. Love their visuals. Every single show has an amazing visual/GE section. That kind of stuff was always my favorite in band, but I love watching the pros do it right.
My band director has never marched, he hires visual staff for that. I live 15 minutes away from the Blue Devils hometown so almost all of our staff is from there and most of our hornline join BDB during the summer.
We've had two horn sergeants and one drum major from Blue Devils be our visual captain in the last four years. Johnny Yang, Neil Adkins, and Brandon Bettencourt. :0 <3

BLUE DEVILS!!!! scream
We Will Rock You.... Ahhhhh... Best show ever! Our band lives close to RCC, so we get our marching instructors from them.
Phantom's pretty pimp, too.

DCI doesn't have enough woodwinds for me. D:
But it seems pretty cool, still. It's nice to know that there are still options for competitive marching bands for a few years after high school, but it's not easy at all I've heard.
I have a few friends who have been in it. One really loves it.

My favorite are Blue Devils and Phantom Regiment. My BD never marched for DCI but she had friends in it.

Velvet Knights are my favorite. They're not world-class, but they are cool.
They march in red Converses, and their show was funeral-themed, and it had stuff like Thriller, and a New Orleans Jazz Funeral and stuff.
And I've heard the Blue Devils' drumline, and they're amazing.
My friend has pure drumline cadences on his computer and whenever I'm at his house I have to listen to "Flam Sandwich."

TRUEE WHAAT?TRUEEE BLUEE xd Blue Devils; they have kickasss shows every yeear especially this year and last year when they got 1st place :] my brother is in BDB :] this summer they WOULD'VE gotten first place but frickin' Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets just had to win by 0.5!and BDB was in 1st place for like EVVERY competitionn >.>
my band director was is BDB and Vanguard too 3nodding

I went to a camp at a college hear me and the Bostin Crusaters were there teaching us all these really cool things with marching and making us better marchs.
I met some of them and had conversations and what not. (some of the guys were really cute) and one was a flute player (like me) that swithed to baritone. (what i want to do to get in DCI) so it was a really cool thing. mrgreen
