 Name: Abe Yasunori Age: 20 Nationality: Japanese Hometown: Kyoto, Japan Current Residence: Shibuya, Tokyo Occupation: bartender in a local nightclub Talents/Skills: Abe loves to paint and sketch. He constantly keeps a sketchbook handy where he draws, and practices his calligraphy. Due to his parents and their beliefs he has had calligraphy training since he was a child. While at first he hated drawing the intricate lines he has since found it to be a calming exercise. He is also very adept at Card tricks, and counting cards in poker Birth order: First son, third child, youngest Siblings: He has two older sisters by several years, each with their own families already. He has a very formal relationship with both, having not really grown up with them around. The second oldest sister he has the best relationship with as she has had the most contact with him. Both currently reside in the Kyoto area Parents: Abe’s parents are some of the few remaining Omyouji still in existence. Claiming to be descended from the two famous Omyouji from long ago they had great plans for Abe. Course Abe wanted none of that and after a year of college ran away from his family and school. This has put him at odds with his parents who wish to disown him, but being as he’s the only male child they cannot. From the very beginning Abe’s parents wanted him to become their heir to the Omyodo ways figuring that he would be one of the greats. Because of this he has undergone hard training to become an omyoji since his early childhood. He knows how to do the dances, the various different prayers and spells. And how to create the special seals for “sealing” away evil beings. Prefers to have no contact with his parents. he just wants to live his life as he sees fit, not as someone tells him to. Significant Others: None at this time. Relationship skills: Due to his job as a bartender Abe has had to develop some decent relationship skills. He's a decent listener; it's easier to listen to everyone than it is to talk to them when you're behind the bar. But is confident almost to a fault which puts a lot of people off, he can sometimes comes off as arrogant.

Height: 5'9
Weight: 175
Race: Asian (but has some caucasian in his family tree)
Eye Color: Blue
Hair Color: Black
Hair style: Messy, almost always looks like someone gave it a good toss in the morning, the ends of his hair always seem to curl upwards slightly.
Glasses or contact lenses?: None
Skin color: your typical asian light tan/yellow. He may have some caucasian blood in him, but it’s so far gone that it has very little effect on his appearance.
Distinguishing features: Tattoos, Abe has a lot of them. Many of them Taoist/Shinto/Buddhism based. The most prominent is the yin and yang symbol his right shoulder, and a swastika on his left (a swastika is the symbol of good luck in the Buddhist religion.) All of his tattoos are in areas covered by his clothing, and there’s a few he’ll never show you unless you’re on VERY friendly terms with him.
How does he/she dress? If he would stop being such a slob, his dress would seem snappy. Usually some button up shirt, unbuttoned almost to the navel, and some sort of slick vest he wears open. When he doesn’t have to wear slacks for his job he wears his favorite belted pants, usually of a bark color. All this is topped off by a tie that hangs loosely around his neck. If you can catch him at work he actually looks presentable with everything buttoned up and the tie synched tightly around his neck because he works quite a lot, and may get called upon to work at any time his casual and work clothes look a lot alike.
Mannerisms: Abe is active, he doesn’t have time to sit still doing nothing. The only time you might see him sitting still is when he is drawing, or making a killing in a poker game. He’s almost always got a smile on his face and a welcome expression to anyone new. Always willing to chase after a skirt, he’s especially nice and welcoming to any pretty girls he comes across.
Habits: Abe carries three things on him at all times, a mini sketch book he slips in his breast pocket, three pencils of various widths, and a deck of cards. When bored, Abe can always be found sketching in his book; People, animals, or anything that crosses his field of vision. When excited he plays with his deck of cards shuffling, flipping and doing magic tricks.
Health: Abe has been described as too healthy by many. Other than a broken arm he suffered as a child Abe has had no major illness or injury.
Hobbies: Art and cards. He loves playing poker with friends and sketching when alone. When bothered he loves to use his calligraphy skills to create paper “seals” that he then throws at people, yelling things along the lines of “I banish you foul demon!” or “Be sealed evil beast!”
Favorite Sayings: “Life’s no fun unless you make it so.”
Vernacular: Abe speaks Japanese as his first language, English as his second, and knows a smattering of German he speaks infrequently.
Disabilities: none, unless you count having his head up his a**.

Educational Background: High school and about a year of college before he skipped out and ran away to Shibuya to work on his art.
How does the Character see himself/herself? He sees himself as sleek and stylized, handsome and smexy.
How does the Character believe he/she is perceived by others? He thinks he’s seen as fun and carefree. He tries to make people think he’s poignant sometimes but usually fails pretty hard.
How self-confident is the character? Far too self confident.
Does the character seem ruled by emotion or logic or some combination thereof? Ruled by his emotions quite a bit. Described as thinking with his heart or with what’s between his legs most of the time.
What would most embarrass this character? Getting slapped down by a girl, screwing up a magic trick with his cards, and having his art critiqued harshly.
Greatest flaw(s): Arrogant woman chaser. Trusts very easily
Best quality(ies): Loyal, and carefree. He’ll drop just about anything, including work, to help a friend in trouble. Trusts very easily.

Emotional Characteristics
Introvert or Extrovert? Extrovert, big time.
How does the character deal with anger? He gets snappy and sarcastic, letting insults and coarse language fly fast and thick.
With sadness? Tries to pretend it doesn’t exist. When he’s sad he’s more likely to get hyper and talkative trying to cover his sadness up.
With conflict? Confronts it head on, but can get frustrated if the conflict isn’t resolved quickly. If the conflict is with people it can degrade into anger pretty quickly.
With change? He’s fine with it, loves it in fact. He easily switches from one thing to another, loves to try new things.
With loss? Like sadness he tries to cover it up. The harder the loss the more he tries to hide it. Will be happy and carefree in public, but then cry like a baby in private.
What does the character want out of life? To have fun, Has a goal to become one of the bests artists out there, but mainly to have fun and meet women.
What would the character like to change in his/her life? What’s there to change? At this point in time Abe feels like he wouldn’t want to change anything about his life. He likes having fun and chasing women. His Job supports this letting him do what he wants in the day and chase women and make money at night. It helps that his family leaves him alone. If he was able he would change his family.
What motivates this character? His past, he runs from it. He wants nothing to do with his parents plans for him. And does whatever he can to forget about them and their plans.
What frightens this character? Losing his friends, has an irrational fear of Bunnies. Mainly white ones, no one knows why and he’s not telling.
What makes this character happy? A good art session, cracking jokes and being the center of attention. Helping his friends and winning at a high stakes poker game.
Is the character judgmental of others? Nope, doesn’t care what people look like or say. It’s what they do that he judges them on. Besides if it wears a skirt he’ll chase it, which has gotten him in trouble before.
Is the character generous or stingy? Generous, especially if a friend asks for money. Rarely does he ask why and rarely expects payment back. Part of the reason why he still lives in a studio apartment with no kitchen or bathroom.
Is the character generally polite or rude? He’s casual with just about everyone, wither they see it as polite or rude he doesn’t care. He doesn’t go out of his way to insult anyone unless they made him mad, but the only people he is formal and polite to are his parents and sisters.

Do they fight at close or long range? Long range, but his Shikigami is a close range fighter.
What is their weapon? He has a deck of seals that he uses to cast magical barriers and seals upon his enemies. Each seal can be used once during a fight, but once used instead of burning the paper itself the seal upon the paper disapears but will be regened after an hour or so. Most of his seals are protection or barrier based. His main tactics are to seal the abilities or movement of his enemy and then have his Shikigami deal the final blow, or hold the enemy so that the final blow can be delt by one of Abe's attack seals. Abe can create new seals with stronger defense or attacks or other abilities but only if he overwrites a seal that has recently been used. He has 52 seals, the same number as his poker deck, and he can not have more than that.
His shikigami is summonable in the mirror world as a reflection of Abe's soul. It takes the form of a large wolf made of pale blue fire. His shikigami is called Kamo, and his one role is to protect Abe. Kamo is very protective, and yet disaproving of what Abe has chosen to do with his life, and is very vocal about it, whenever abe can hear him. As kamo is a reflection of Abe's soul it shows that Abe isn't completely comfortable with what he has choosen, even if it's only int he depths of his subconsiousness.
Is there a reason behind the choice of weapon? He comes from a family of Omyoji, His parents claim to be decendents of Abe no Seimei and Kamo no Yasunori. Abe has never once believed them thinking they were blowing smoke up their own asses. But there may be some truth to it.
In the real world what does the weapon transform into? His deck of poker cards. Kamo can not be seen in the real world but he is always with Abe, even before he comes into contact with the mirror world. those who can see the spirit reals would be able to see and describe Kamo, but Abe woul dhave no idea what they were talking about.
Abilities: Abe will have the ability to see the spirit world once he has come into contact with the mirror world. Once in contact his latent Onmyouji powers begin to activate allowing him to first sense the spirit realm even in the normal realm and then to see clearly as if it was over laid upon the real world. Once his power is fully awakened Abe becomes postcognative, able to see the events that happened in the past. But he has no controll over it and the flashes come randomly to him, (Would have this controlled by the rp manager if accepted)

Rp example:
It had been a long and busy night at the bar. Abe had been ready to go home several hours ago, and this one drunk at the bar that kept demanding drinks was really getting on Abe's nerves. Some corporate party had rented out most of the bar so Abe was stuck serving old men, or newly employeed boys who didn't know the meaning of restraint. The girls were in short supply tonight, and what few there was were either taken, or not even close to Abe's age. While Abe would hit jsut about anything that moved with a skirt he drew the line at women that could be his grandmother.
Judging by the general stink of alcohol of most of the gents drinking at the bar, it was just about time for the nightly fight to break out. It always happened, every night a fight would break out about this time, Abe called it the saturation hour. When all the guys were so saturated with sake and drinks that they just didn't care anymore. They had successfully drowned away their worries, so now it was time to create some new ones.
Right on que two arguments broke out, one over by the door, by that nights bouncer. No problem there, that one would be put down quick. The one that worried Abe was the one by his bar. The old drunk, not getting any more drinks for the night, was starting to pick fights with the younger employees around him. Abe sighed, He guessed it fell to him to defuse this one before any glass started flying. If any of the Sake behin the bar got spilled it would come out of Abe's paycheck.
Getting a little speed up, abe slid across the floor slick with spilled drinks and cleaning agents, taking the small group of men by surprise as he came up beside them.
"Good evening gentlemen!" Abe smiled flicking out his card deck and starting to shuffle. As expected the drunks were almost immediately hypnotized by the flying cards. Abe rolled his eyes, it was almost too easy this late at night. "Now, i know you men would prefer to have another round of drinks, but unfortunately the bar has closed for the night. But as an apology I offer you this simple magic trick."
Abe beemed at the bemused men, fairly confident the only words they had understood was "Drinks", and "Bar". He fluidly tossed the cards back and forth between his hands, and then spread them out on the bar face down infront of the old man who had started the argument.
"Pick a card, any card." he told the man confidently. The man, with bleary eyes, stared at Abe for a moment before realizing Abe was talking to him. Slowly and shakily the man picked a card and eyed it for a moment. "Now place it back into the deck." Abe instructed and waited for the man to shakily place the card back into the deck. Abe immediately started to shuffle. "Now remember that card." Abe said smiling at the man, and the rest of the party and began to flick down card after card. Asking "Is that your card?" after each one. The man shook his head after each one, untill Abe had gone through the whole deck. With the card layed out infront of him Abe stared down miffed at them as the old man began to laugh. "Hmmm, oh wait i know!" Abe exclaimed and slaped the laughing man hard on the cheek, knocking him off his stool.
As the Old man roared in anger and tried to rise off teh floor, the other men laughing at him, Abe bent down and pulled out a mirrior from behind the bar and set it infront of the man as soon as he came up like a man gasping for breath. "Is that your card?" Abe asked, Showing the man a bright red impression of the 2 of spades on his cheek. The man was instantly silenced and the rest of the party stared at him in amazement.
Chuckling Abe collected his cards and closed up the bar, letting the men oogle at the spectical on the mans cheek. As he was on his way out passed the Bouncer, a sultry voice called out behind him.
"That wasn't very nice you know." A woman stood there with her hands on her ample hips, and that wasn't all that was "ample" on her. While she wasn't over weight, there was no other word to describe her other than curvy, and there was a lusty grin upon her face. Abe immediately stopped in his tracks. How had he missed her this night? It didn't matter that she was probably 10 years older than him, she was deffinitly a looker.
"Well, i doubt he'll even remember it in the morning." Abe said smiling back at her. "besides, he's so distracted he'll miss the end of the trick." he grinned and held out his hand, "You mind?" he asked as he reached out to her belt line, and pulled the queen of hearts out of her pants. "See, this was what his card really was." Abe grinned at the woman holding the queen of hearts inbetween his pointer and middle finger.
The woman stared at Abe and started laughing. "so you're the man with the magic?" she asked comming closer to him.
"Oh, I have quite a bit of magic in these fingers." Abe said grinning pervertedly. "And I'd be very willing to show you." Abe said offering her his arm
the woman laughed "I'd like that i think." She reached out and took Abe's offered arm, pulling up close against him. As Abe looked back into the bar as they left he saw the bouncer shaking his head and chuckling, giving abe a thumbs up.
Abe smilied, he guessed he wouldn't be comming into work tomorrow. He was looking forward to this night.

I actually really like Abe Falcon, reading about his personality and attachment to cards and dislike for his childhood upbringing made his weapon (Omyoji) in the Mirror world make sense. But I think you should have a backup power just incase Livie doens't like it.
Not that I don't think it is awesome, I happen to be really attached to summonings/bringing other creatures into the human/other realms. It fasinates me and I always make characters who can do it and all this awesome stuff.
I just worry that it would be too broad a topic? I happen to know next to nothing, so this might all not really make any sense or be wrong, but maybe instead of the creature itself comming to help Abe, maybe in the Mirror world they can change into different things? Like if Abe is running from something he can summon a rock or ground Omyoji and they can become a shield or a hiding place for him?
So they can turn themselves into objects that stay there for a certian amount of time before going back to where they came from?

That might be the same thing as just summoning the Omyoji but the idea hit me and I didn't resist the urge to share it with you.
The only other thing that I have to question is Abe's age.
Is a 19 year old allowed to be a bartender? I know the age to handle alcholic drink where I am from (US of A) is 21, so 19 seems a bit young to me.
But it might be legal in Japan. I shall have to do some research. <3
Other then that it is wonderful Falcon sweety. I can't wait to see the RP sample, Abe seems like a awesome character to play around with.

In japan the age of consent is 13, and the legal age to drink alcohol is 16 i believe. It's alot younger than the US, Pretty sure a 19 year old in japan would be able to handle booze. I just wanted him young, i have no problem upping his age to 21 is needed.
His weapon isn't actually Omyouji (that's the name for people who practice Omyoujo, or like high priests of shintoism, they;re like japanese shamans) His weapons are these spirits themselves, The Shikigami.
How i was thinking about using the Shikigami is that he's got one attack shikigami for each of the eastern elements, and then a horde of little beings of various elements that can't be used for battle. And even his attack shikigami would only be able to be used one or two at a time at most. His non combat spirits are like little flame spirits the take the form of floating flames to provide light or set fires for the element of fire, or rock spirits to carry luggage or other objects for the element of wood, or other things along that line, each one has their ability and place. But even with that, the attack spirits would have to be found and earned. He'd start out with like one attack spirit, and a few of his minions, and as he got stronger and found more true names of the shikigami he'd be able to summon more.
I would like to have him be able to summon them for long periods of time, i have this image of him with like a wolfin/hound/cat thing companion wandering around with him alot. But i'm willing to work with it because i know it's really different. I was thinking that in combat because it takes alot of concentration to fight with the shikigami that he wouldn't be able to move around very much. Much like a traditional Ranged attacker he'd mainly have to be stationary.
I'm thinking of a back up but i would still like to have something "magical/mystic" as his main attack. But if not I think i would have to find something ranged that would revert back to his cards. I really want to have something like that.
EDIT: Okay rechecked i'm not sure about handling alcohol, but it can be purchased at the age of 20

well, it's actualy called Onmyouji and the Onmyou way is Onmyoudo, for the research's shake (my character Fei is a member of an Onmyouji clan) Onmyouji are not shamans, they are excorcists and are addept in seal mastery, warding and the lifting of curses as well as repelling. They appear to practice a lot of different forms of 'future-telling' seeing how many see visions of the future. Some are said to be able to see the past through a rare ability known as postcognition. Even though they are tied to the spiritual world Onmyouji are by no means summoners of spirits like the shamans. (they are the exact opposite actually)
The Shikigami are no weapon, however it is said that each Onmyouji has but a single one of his own that reflects his soul, they are an Onmyouji's spiritual guardians. The only way I believe it's possible to have more than one is through spiritual posetion that would end up in looking like multiple personality disorder to 'normal humans'.
Also 'summoning' as a power is extremely rare among humans (though not impossible, nor is there a way to know without me commenting on it first since it has to do with a part of the nature of the power not yet recorded somewhere in the shop -or if it is Livie does not remember it.). Summoning is a power that the Phantaso typically have as a simple ability. For a human to be able to summon it would probably mean that they have -even really distant- Phantaso kin, however the use of the power by normal humans isn't impossible as stated above, but even then the type of creature summoned would need to be very specific. For example if he can summon a wolf he will be able to summon a wolf only, aligned to the same element who can become stronger. Also summons are supposed not to be physical manifestations because that would make them akin to Nebuli which are hostile to all lifeforms by nature. They could have some corporeal substance however according to the affiliated element (a beast of fire, or 'concetrated' mist being examples)
-other than that, I do like his attitude and footlooseness, however I fear the fact he might end up being shallow.... I do not doubt he can develop via roleplaying though.
I do not, by all means, mean to insult, or look down upon the poor character. I am just trying to help improve the concept. <:

and damn and I must have misunderstood the information i was reading. but you obviously know more than i do on Onmyoudo so i shall bow to your knowledge ^^
*thinks* hmmmmm, I get what you're saying about the seals, I kinda wanted to go that way in the beginning, but figured it would be better to go with just the summoning. But if that doesn't work..... Would it be then acceptable for his weapon to be the seals? Have him focus on barriers and protection with a single shikigami that he could summon to help?
His battle tactics would be to seal the enemies movement and then let his Shikigami make the final blow,
Going on his personality I would see his Shikigami as a wolf made of pale blue fire.
Would that be acceptable as his weapon/fighting style?
As for him being shallow, he's not, while yes he chases skirts, he's not a biggot or closedminded at all. In short he really doesn't care about looks when it comes to men or women, but who's most readily available XD
There's much more to him than what I wrote down, but i didn't really wanna write it because I wanted that to come out in RP/journals. Kinda see it as spoilers XD

^^; Livie is a sucker for anything that has to do with the occult.
Also I forgot to mention that a possible ability is the one to see the spirit world (for example Fei can see ghosts just as well as humans coexisting in the same space and can also witness phenomena of that nature -like the ghost train at the Shibuya station, which is a fragment of RP that can be read here if you are interested in it <: )
uhm.... seals... seals are like a spell on paper. Even so one has to activate them by chanting for them to work. But an awesome skill you can leech off of that is a seal that would send Phasma off back to the mirrorworld (as in an instant-death technique in an RPG). Plus you can develop individual seals for attacking and others for sealing movements as proposed.
The Shikigami could be an amazing asset in battle, especially since the casting of a seal requires time and it could also cover up for blind spots.

heh, I like those ideas XD I'm not sure about the insta death seal. anything with the word insta in a forum based RPG makes me cringe a bit due to so many god modders out there. maybe if the chant was like really really long and he had to stay still for a long time.....
but yeah *thinks* mmmm I like those ideas though, even though he could develop attack seals i think he would stick to mainly protection and barrier seals.
hmmm alright I'll do some tweaking with his weapon/abilities and resubmit the app ^^
