THE SEASHORE FIELD!!
Split down the middle between land and sea, this field compliments land and water type pokemon. On the west end of the field is the land section: fine grained sand gradually slopes downward to meet the salt water on the east end of the battleground. A single palm tree wavers lightly in the breeze (the stadium ceiling is open when this field is selected) while shells are scattered in random places in and on the sand. In the water half of the battleground, the water laps at the sand much like at a real beach; when it retracts it leaves behind strands of seaweed and pieces of coral. Both are found under the water, offering shelter for water-types (or those who can hold their breath for great periods of times). This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GROUND and WATER type attacks.

Renekai walked carefully into the stadium, eyes darting. Experience had taught her to be very cautious-- it could be the smelly City Streets field, the boiling hot Fire Field, the freezing cold Ice Field, the impenetrable Graveyard Field, or lots lots more... And, worst of all, someone could have put a rug in her trainer's box again for her to slip on. Seriously. Rugs should be nailed to the floor or not used at all. But when Renekai walked into her box, it was rug-free. The sound of the crashing waves and smell of salt was quite calming.
But not for long.
"HAUNTER!" Dreydonna cackled, bouncing into her place on the field. Ooh, what fun! She was going to battle the little foxy from so long ago! She grinned maniacally. This would be FUN!

Saspra resisted the urge to fall asleep and walked into her box slowly. The arena was a nice beachy place. Personally she would've loved to be in there, but she knew immediately that Shadow would hate it. At least it wasn't completely covered, right? She looked over at Renekai. Today was the day of their rematch and she was excited to get this battle started right away.
Shadow stayed as far away from the water as he could to begin with. This was just great, having to fight by the water. He looked over at his opponent. It was Dreydonna from a while back and she had changed. Was it possible that she looked even creepier than before? He shook it off and waited for the battle to start.

Dreydonna made a face at Shadow. Hm, he had gotten bigger. But that's okay! She beat him once, she could do it again. She confidently blew a raspberry.
"Dreydonna, this won't be easy!" admonished Renekai. "Keep on your guard."
Dreydonna merely cackled in reply.

Shadow glared in response to Dreydonna's raspberry. She had gotten bigger, but then again the bigger they are the harder they fall right?
Saspra pondered on what to do first. Since his evolution Shadow had learned a move or two, she decided to just stick with the old moves for now though. "Shadow used Flamethrower!"
Shadow jumped to the other side of Dreydonna, opened his mouth and fired out a thorough blast of fire. That ought to teach her not to underestimate him.

Renekai thought quickly. Did she dare try to use a new technique that she came up with? It was worth a shot at their advantage, she supposed. But it was risky! "Dreydonna, use Hypnosis!"
Dreydonna shook off the crispy attack and began to sway back and forth, like a pendulum. She lazily swung to and fro... Back and forth... "You are getting sleepy... Veeeerrryyy sllleeeeepyyyy...." cooed Dreydonna in Pokemon.
Renekai quietly put her face in her hands. Dreydonna was overdoing it again.

Shadow rolled his eyes at the foolish Haunter before closing them therefore avoiding the attack. He reopened his eyes after a good long minute and jumped a foot or two away from Dreydonna awaiting his next command.
Saspra was quite relieved to see that the attack had missed. They would've been toast if the attack had hit its mark. "C'mon Shadow, use Bite!" She called out.
Shadow avoided jumping into the water as best he could as he lunged towards Dreydonna.

Dreydonna soared up high and floated out over the deeper water to discourage Shadow from following. She poked her long tongue out and waggled it at the fire pokemon.
Renekai copied Shadow and rolled her eyes. "You won't keep being so lucky! Dreydonna, use--"
Dreydonna, however, had her own ideas. She made the shhing symbol with one hand, then began to sway back and forth again in Hypnosis. She was doing her own thing again...
This had better work, Renekai grumbled silently.

Shadow glared after the retreating ghost. He knew that to be able to win he'd have to get in the stupid water. He watched Dreydonna swaying for a minute in confusement before hopping away from the ghost to avoid her attack. He wasn't going to sleep that easily.
Saspra sighed in relief when the attack missed. They really would be in deep trouble if Shadow fell asleep. "Use Bite one more time!"
Shadow rolled his eyes at his trainer. He could get why she would want him to do that, but he would have much preferred to use a long range move like Flamethrower instead. He sighed and launched himself into the water using his tails as a propeller. In no time he was under Dreydonna and he sprung up at her jaws bared.

Now there's no choice... Renekai thought grimly. ".... Hypnosis... And if this one misses, then I'll..." She clamped her mouth shut before she finished her sentence.
Dreydonna winced. Maybe Shadow was a bit too tough for her, her not able to use any super effective attacks... She determinedly used Hypnosis again. If only he'd sleep, the energetic beast!

Shadow looked away from Dreydonna's attack for a good long minute. To his dismay, when he turned around she was still doing it. Well that sucks. He looked away from her almost as soon as he saw her, but that didn't help his vision at all. He yawned and fell onto the soft sand.
Saspra groaned when the attack hit. At least it didn't seem too strong and chances were Shadow was going to wake up any second now.

"He's barely snoozing!" Renekai called, more quietly than usual. "Try again... Hypnosis."
Dreydonna grinned and floated over until she was right above Shadow's head. She began swaying again, but she also sang a lullaby.
Renekai recognized the tune. Well. Could singing ghosts bring a peaceful sleep?

Shadow slept thoroughly. His nose twitched a few times, but that composed most of his movements. The lullaby didn't help him sleep any more, but it didn't hinder it either. Well at least that was decent, right?
Saspra sighed and watched Dreydonna floating over Shadow's head. Well at least this way neither party were making any progress.

Dreydonna frowned, then gave a little twirl before swaying once more. He sent hypnotic waves into Shadow's mind in determination of keeping him asleep.
Renekai watched carefully. Dreydonna seemed to be determined...
