The island was a pristine tropical paradise, white sandy beaches, bright palm trees foresting the central part, a few natural hot springs, and the ocean waters were as clean as could be. Yes the island was a land completely untouched by the hands of man, maybe it had something to do with the active volcano that dominated the center. Overall it was a rather large to remain uninhabited even with the volcano. Still a couple dozen miles away there remained a village folk tale of the island being home to a powerful fire god and too this day the people regularly sacrificed a cow the that deity every full moon.
Sef was leading the way, floating ahead of the small convoy and matching its speed. He really wanted to avoid people learning the coordinates of his father's sanctuary, and had remained adamant about this method of travel. He landed lightly upon the shore where he had a lean to constructed in the nearby forest. Turning around, he watched the transport approach for a landing.

((And I am here))
Acher was the one driving the thing, since he was the pilot and not the hero of this story, he thought he should be the one to drive. He didn't have his uniform on, but his normal every day clothes, but there was a new acquisition, next to the fact he kept his wings out for comfort. Genie sat next to him. The tanned kitsune stared at him while she ate a bad of BBQ mesquite potato chips. She was talking to him about a new strategy when it came to Dark Society outbursts. There was also a stowaway. Toshigo sat in the back with his small laptop, typing in some things. He came because he wanted to make sure they were alright, and the Council forced him on vacation. Well, this vacation was mostly to bring guns for a small army and water. Acher was planning on bringing his mech, but he didn't, thinking that fire would probably burn it anyway.
Acher landed the ship and the first one to come out was Toshigo, hiding his eyes behind sunglasses, "This is nice," he got out and looked around. Acher got out with Genie. He seemed a bit stiff. Genie asked what happened but he changed the subject, "Sef, should I keep this here?" Arlen knew what was wrong. Acher also suffered from multiple personality, and one of them was what they thought was jealous of Acher, and at night would narrate what acher did during the day and hit himself, causing Acher to have burns, scrapes, and bruises on him. Arlen made a promise not to tell.
Acher sniffed the air, "Smells like sulfur..."

((Huzzah!))
Arlen stretched as he stepped out of the transport, happy to have room to do more than pace back and forth. "Finally some fresh air!" He exclaimed gazing around the beach excitedly. "Hey Genie, why don't you change into a bikini and we can get some volleyball going?" Arlen asked jokingly, well sort of. After three whole trays of food and an additional two for supper, he was starting to feel like himself again.
"We're not here for fun," Sef scolded, approaching the group after giving them a wide berth to land safely in. "Well I guess Gills might be here to have fun, and Acher and his girlfriend are certainly free to enjoy themselves, but you are here to train so you don't explode and decimate half your forces."
"I know why I'm here," Arlen said impetuously, not liking the reminder that he could explode any moment. "Just trying to lighten the mood."
"Okay, I can understand that," Sef said walking up and placing his hand on Arlen's chest. There was a small boom and a burst of fire that sent Arlen tumbling backwards. "Go to the north side of the island and try not to explode, if you can make it a day we can go on to something else." He said gravely before turning to the others and asking cheerfully. "Who wants lunch?"
Arlen struggled to his hands and knees, small flames breaking out sporadically across his body and with some effort subsiding. He looked up at Sef in disbelief.

((*dances the dance of the dancers*))
Genie was grinning at Arlen, "I bet you would like that, Arlen," but her smile went away when Sef did the girlfriend comment. She growled at him, but Acher held her back. This kitsune was crazy, he thought. "I'm here for Arlen, so if he's going to the north side of the island, I'm going too." he made a staff of metal appear and stretched his hand to Arlen, "Get up."
Genie sighed and took off her shirt to show her purple bikini, "I'll go, too. It'll be good training, right?"
Toshigo did not take his shirt off, but was thinking of it. The air felt nice, and he bet the water must be clear and wonderful to swim in, and breathe it. He lowered his glasses to look at Sef "You can hit him all you want, just make sure he has both his hands, both his feet, his brain, and at least one eye so he can pass the elite exam," he walked back to the ship to get his bag and moved to the beach.

Arlen smiled and took a hold of the staff which started to glow red hot at his touch. "Are you guys sure?" he asked hesitantly as he pulled himself up. "I," he pause to reign in another flare, "I can't control it. You could get hurt."
"He's right," Sef said, looking over the ship and wondering why someone could become an elite soldier without depth perception. "While it's nice to know who cares about him it's best that he be alone for now." Sure the kid could use his concern to help keep his fire in check, but that would become a crutch that would undoubtedly fall apart eventually. "I assure you he'll be fine if that helps."
