Lately it seems even with my popup blocker, there are an increasingly alarming amout of near-nude, crude, and inappropriate ads online. Gaia and Youtube are my most used sites and they seem to be full of them and seem to be demanding attention. What do you guys do when you encounter these ads and popups?

Perhaps it's the programs I use, but I haven't seen a pop up in, like, 3 years... on MY computer. If I use my parents, they are riddled with them. They only use a cheap MacAfee thing and also IE.

Firefox and Norton Internet Security. I do not trust IE as far as I can throw it and I am not a MacAfee fan.

You can download and use Mozilla free and without compromising your existing set up. I use Mozilla and the only pop-ups I get from Gaia are that stupid "Test your IQ" thing.

There are still ads on the pages that are inappropriate. I've just learned not to look, though I know it's not a perfect defense.

UGH. Yeah, I would, at the VERY least switch to Firefox. That is free.

I use Norton Antivirus and internet explorer and usually don't see many vulgar pop ups, but the ads I see I try to ignore or I just simply get off the web site and wait a while until a new advertisemnt pops up on the screen.
I think they are rude and disgusting. I don't understand why today's society is so obsessed with nudity. Whatever happened to modesty?

i love my anti virus and internet security.

i haven't seen a pop up the whole time i've had this computer.

i have AVG security. you can download a trial version free for a little while then it's like 50 bucks for a year, but it's extremely effective.

then i use mozilla firefox. i hate internet explorer. sorry you guys.

go to avg.com

it may be worth a try.
