T714, early in the year - Kinji's parents, as well as the rest of his village, die in a bad year's winter-plague. Kinji is adopted by Kin'u. Kinji cannot really remember these early parts of his life, and does not often think of his birth parents.
T714 - Kin'u marries his childhood friend Jinka, though they can have no public wedding ceremony. Kinji primarily lives with Jinka during this year.
T715 - Kin'u begins taking Kinji with him when he travels around northern Houkoku and southwestern Ryuukoku. Gradually, Kinji will travel more and more with Kin'u, though they both occasionally return and stay with Jinka.
T720 - Kin'u and Kinji go to the Islands of the Ray to help treat the sick there; all on the island except for Kinji end up dying.
