I loved the first anime version and it's actually what made me pick up the manga. Since reading the original manga story, even though I haven't gotten too far into it just yet(volume 13 or so) I actually prefer that over the anime. The fact that they're making a new version which actually follows the original storyline makes me quite happy ^_^
The art doesn't look too far off from the first FMA series and so I'm only wondering if they'll keep the same English VA cast. I don't think I could get used to different voices...It'd be weird.

They might have to for Al's voice, since the kid's voice might have changed. But if they don't, he'll get his bowl back. He used it to make the eco when Al was armor.

Yeah, I'd understand if they had to replace them, but if that happens I at least hope that they find someone close to the original.
