What would you do if someone gets pissed off for no reason?

Subject: haters, assholes, humility.

So, today I decided to go to college to work on an assignment with my friends from telecomms. We couldn't do much because we spent like an entire hour installing Cygwin, which is like a Windows port of the entire Linux libraries (which I needed because Ubuntu had troubles with internets access), but while the whole thing installed, I decided to take a dump. After doing my business in the bathroom, I decided to go to the electronics lab, because one of my friends from electronics told me I did a mess yesterday because I put way too much water and coffee on the machine, it spilled all over the place, I left because I had to go get my ride back, and I didn't cleaned it.

As you can see, it was not much of a big deal: just apologize, clean the mess, and that was it. I just said: "well, I'm sorry for that, I'll be more careful the next time, I missed it". Then, one of the guys there mumbled sarcastically "hah, 'I missed it', great".

His name is Bedoy, and he's the most hateful person in the world. He hates anything that's not up to his ******** bloated ego, and he's the perfect example of the elitism I ******** hate so much. He does have some bases to put up such an elitist act: he's one of the top electronics students, he has a full scholarship because of a ******** awesome essay he submitted back in high school, he's working on a very ******** awesome project with big-a** electronics manufacturer Freescale Technologies, and his name raises the respect of every single teacher at the DESI, the Electronics and Info Systems Department. But we're not here to discuss his achievements. We're here to discuss his ******** attitude.

Since there was really nothing I could say besides from apologizing, and since he wasn't accepting the fact that I was recognizing an error, I said: "well, what do you want me to say?". Then he stepped on a chair, all angered like ********, and said: "Would you like to STOP INSULTING ME, a*****e!?"

More confused due to his sudden pissing off than scared, I unfazingly retorted with: "When the ******** did I insulted you?", like saying "oh no, ******** no, I won't take back what I said".

Bedoy said "You addressed me as 'cabrón', you idiot!". "Cabrón" is a word that basically means "********" or "wanker", but here in Mexico it's possible to use it in a friendly way, or even in a neutral way: "¡Eres cabrón!", for example, means "You ******** rule!", while "Voy por una chela, cabrón" means "I'm getting a beer, bro". I use it all the time, everybody knows damn well I mean nothing bad with this word, and thus, it was natural for me to address him as "cabrón".

Thus, I retorted with: "And you get pissed off just because I addressed you with a strong word, huh? Do me a ******** favor".

After that, I realized this sorry a*****e is doomed forever to never having real friends, only acquintances and co-workers, and I stormed off the lab. When I returned to the networks lab, I told my friend the whole thing, and congratulated him for being a real friend, not some a*****e with a bad attitude.

I tell you, this ******** will never have real friends. He never did, in fact. I was told that, back in middle school, Bedoy would try every single dressing style just to see if he could get a friend like this. He eventually scored a couple of friendships in high school, and in fact, he used to have a much better attitude back then, because he was just an ordinary high school student and he knew it. But he always thought himself the ******** Hearth of the Universe. I guess that's what drove him to getting so much s**t done, and since he was good with computers, that meant stuff like reading technical documents on the Intel x86 architecture, how to program in assembly language, learning languages like C or C++, and overall being ******** awesome with his computer projects. I initially felt really glad to meet him in my sophomore year, because I had finally found someone who shared my interest for computers, anime, videogames and Internet fora.

But as he entered college, he felt like he was making a name for himself. And while that was indeed what he was doing, he started using this excuse to put up a ******** diva act. Anything that wasn't exactly as he said automatically sucked, and he refused to talk to those who weren't "people of high class". And by "people of high class", I mean "people who worship him all the time and speak in formal, multisyllabic words". (That's something I find ******** annoying from him. While throwing around a couple of educated terms might sound cool, speaking in an overly formal tone comes across as pretentious. If you're in a casual, relaxed setting, there's no need to use 5 syllables when one single syllable will do. I always live according to this latter statement, which is the total opposite of what he does).

And while I agree that he was indeed ******** awesome, there's one thing he never had: humility. Because his teammate Antonio aka "Toñito", who's as great an engineer as Bedoy if not better, is actually humble. He knows his work has scored and will score massive points in the electronics scene, but when Toñito leaves the lab, he knows all his achievements don't matter for s**t. For when you leave the lab, all that matters is your attitude, nothing more, nothing less. If you're friendly and open to other peers, you'll have a good, healthy social life, with relationships formed out of mutual approval and goodwill. But if you go around feeling the Center of the Universe all the ******** time, you're doomed to having nothing but acquintances who don't feel like spending time with you, and co-workers that must put up with your bullshit because they were punished with having to work with you.

On a side note, this was the second time I challenged someone this week. The first time was on Wednesday, when I challenged this guy we know as Panda. When I knew him, I thought he was a funny guy, always coming up with awesome ways to make me laugh. But I also noticed he was lazy as ********, having already failed differential calculus twice. Then I slowly started seeing something was very damn wrong with him. He took digital electronics with me, with one of the toughest teachers in the entire ******** DESI, and dropped within three week, but I thought this was normal considering how tough he is. Then he took digital electronics once more with an easier teacher, failed again, and I thought he was kinda stupid but still had some glimmer of chance, because once again, a lot of people fail this class and some have to go all the way to their third attempt. Then he took digital electronics for the third time, and failed. And then he took it again for the fourth, fifth, and the SIXTH ******** time. He failed all these times, and every time he failed, my faith in him was slowly being shattered to pieces.

Then, he took digital electronics for the SEVENTH ******** time. When he did, I got fed up with his bullshit, and went out of my way to scold him for being an a*****e who can't pass this subject which is the base for another 3 subjects later on. He told me all the time he was way too busy with other stuff like his internship and his job. That was when I realized it was time to get over it and move on, because his life is a mess of ill-planned prorities and he'll never solve them in his life, ever.

Next subject basket: bravery, girlfriend peer pressure on Da_Nuke, drugs, stoners, Christian Weston Chandler, madness, geekdom, otakuness, real friends, brain-dead beauties, night clubs of Guadalajara, my netbook, other people's laptops

EDIT: I just talked with Toñito. Fortunately, he has nothing against me, because he knows damn well it's exhausting having to put up with his ******** attitude. His textual words were "don't worry, man, I'm not mad at you; after all, this is just between you and him, I have nothing to do with this, and besides, you know him damn well".

At least I'm glad to know it's currently him against the world.

Ah yes, the two typical kind of people you can get in a school..
The arrogant jerk who thinks he's above everyone, and the one who fails all the time because he's simply not ready to put the effort in learning.

I know a girl like that in math class.. she's been in her book (the first one) for months, and no matter how many times I try helping her, nothing works!

Bah, it's always best to do your own business, than get involved in other people's crap.

Da_Nuke, reporting again, 6 months after previous post. No major dicks or pieces of s**t were ran into since OP date, maybe other than this guy from my major who knows a lot about computer security and uses this to style himself an l337 5|_|p4 h4xX0r. Apparently, I've had the good fortune of meeting good people at the electronics lab and with my friends whee
