As we all know, Crimson Crisis is well on its way, and we all await the rather fun-looking /Assault Mode monsters and support, and for all who are fans of the Alien arch-type, you're in luck.

However, I'm now bringing up once again what may be the greatest card for any side-deck material in this set, and will very well see popularity in our tournaments - Trap Eater.

Text Lore: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by sending 1 face-up Trap Card your opponent controls to the Graveyard.

We all know what it can do. it can crush Royal Oppression, Skill Drain, and the Imprisoning Mirrors flat into the ground. We know what no matter what may be on the opponent's field, that them losing one of these highly-teched cards is inevitable due to it being Trap Eater's cost of summon.

What we may not know, that there is now controversy of it coming in Crimson Crisis as a common. This card will be available to anyone and everyone, despite any issues of finance. There is indeed photographic evidence leading to this assumption. Bottom.

No conclusive assumption of it being a common should be made until confirmed in an actual spoiler that it is indeed that rarity. As surprising it is to hear, a second glance makes it seem like nothing out of the norm. This has happened to us before, when Snipe Hunter was released to us as a common in Cyberdark Impact.

Scroll down to see the spoiler.

I say "bring it on... common". It will be quite interesting to see how the metagame will be with these little thing roaming around.

Relatively nothing.

It'll be a bit more difficult side decking against the top tier of TeleDaD and Lightsworn, with the Mirrors as the greatest weapon being fodder for a Tuner. May still take a hit from the Mirrors, since I wouldn't run more than 2 in a side deck and there's always the off-chance of just never drawing into it. Gladiator Beasts will probably take the largest hit from it, seeing as how the standard side deck for them will probably have both sets of Mirrors, let alone Trap Eater has the attack to take down anything short of a Laquari or a Hoplomus. Doesn't matter much, if tuned the same turn.

Anti-meta will still see play, but like Kuan said in his own decklist Royal Oppression will become a frequent side-out. Maybe increase playability for Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo a bit. Probably not.

The only continuous trap that Trap Eater can't get a hold of is Macro Cosmos. But as it is, that card won't be making its return to the meta anytime soon.

Anata wa watashi ga zutto mae ni "sayounara" to yutta hito wo omoidasaseru.

I predict....limited or semi-limited off the get-go.

But it'd be a nice change if they made this an easy to acquire card...maybe the metagame would start relying on skill instead of memorization and money.

Pretty sure everything else I have to say was said in the OP.
You remind me of someone I said goodbye to a long time ago.

Will not happen. It's not entirely powerful to guarantee something like that. It damages the side deck; main deck if the player is running Royal Oppression. However, it's guaranteed minimal to zero success. When playing a Lightsworn player, it's easily predictable that your side-in will be Light-Imprisoning Mirror, and in return it's easily predictable that Lightsworn will side in Trap Eater to prevent this. For the anti-meta lists, to successfully use Royal Oppression and keep successfully using Royal Oppression, it may be the time to put away Honest and instead turn to Banisher of Radiance.

A bit more difficult to side deck, a bit more challenging to predict side-ins, but that's about all it is.
