Let's start with the basic information:

Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon is finially being released in America.

Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon wil be a promo card in the January 2006 issue of Shonen Jump.

This means that little boys everywhere will get their hands on a BEWD, card shop owners everywhere will get a BEWD, fangirls everywhere will get a BEWD.

Now, that leaves only one question:

Is the releasing of this card a good idea?
Ever since the card's debut in the anime, crazy TCG players have been drooling over the idea of rocking one in their decks. And at the stats it's at, they have good reason.

Now, if everyone had and used a BEWD in a deck, it would eventually get banned from legal tournamet play-- and therefore no one would get to reap it's benifits.

Also, in the anime the prospect of even seeing a BEWD is an honor, and owning one is completely out of the question. It's that rare. And that respected. If eveyone ran around with a BEWD in their deck, people would start to scorn the card that we fangirls hold so dear to our beloved Seto-sama.

Even if you aren't all up on the TCG, the release of the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon will most likely affect you as a fan of Seto. Do you want some snotty-nosed kid or a crazy seasoned duelist telling you that the uberbeast of your bishonen is nothing but "noobish, godmoding, cookie-cutter fodder"? I certainly hope you don't want that.

It's just something to consider. I've been thinking alot about the release of BEUD, and now, instead of celebrating it's release, I dread it. What about your opinions?

They're finally releasing it? 'Bout damn time... been waiting for it. You've got a point about everyone getting it; but since it's being released in Shonen Jump- there's a chance that only those who know about the magazine will get it. And knowing how much that baby's gonna cost some people who don't get SJ... hopefully the craze won't get so bad as to ban it.

Espicially since I'm recreating Seto's deck for the hell of it... I've been waiting for the BEUD to help complete it. sweatdrop

But, like I was saying, those that are adept at the game will sure as hell know about it. And when I say that those crazy duelist types have been waiting, I mean they've been waiting in a rabid pit! I've dipped my toes into the competitive playing pool, and as soon as SJ says that they're gonna release it in a magazine, all those crazy fanboys are gonna buy a copy just for BEUD.

And, hun, do you know how many people subscribe to SJ?
eek crying gonk

Almost none of my friends even knew SJ existed until I brought a copy to school last week... then it got stolen from me during class and I didn't get it back for a few days. xp But I get your point- there's not gonna be a copy left once the issue with the BEUD comes out; and those of us who read the magazine AND want the card may not get a copy because of the rabid BEUD fanpeople...

(Good thing I subscribe... ninja )

I think they should release it here, Im actually excited over the matter. However, I dont think they should make it as common as to be found in a magazine. I think they should release it in a few packs making the chances more slim, and for people like me, make it available at a few card stores for a high price. This way, if you want it that badly, youll buy it.

I know, I feel bad that the blue eyes isnt as rare and amazing as it should be. But like Sana*shrug* nothing we can do, they just find many ways to screw things up like this.
