And wow, have I been apsent long enough? Its cuz Gaia doesn't allow for a tab for guilds... yeah I'm lazy.

:cough: Ahem...

So yes, I picked up AC: City Life for the Wii... and actually was a bit disappointed. Let me s'plain!

First off I love AC, always have, but when I buy the 3rd game in a series I expect more then what I had in the 2nd. In some cases AC: CL delievers, but in others it actually goes backwards.

Lets start out with the bad... your house.

Now in AC: WW your house had to be shared but you could upgrade four rooms... Now I dunno about you, but most people I know don't share a DS, much less shared AC: WW. So in essence you got a house with four extra rooms, very cool.

In AC: CL you get to upgrade the size of your main room twice, add an up stairs (which never gets as big as your main room) and then a basement which is as big as your main room...

And thats it.

What? Really? See to me the house is a huge part of AC, I love to make themed rooms and NOT have to take them down often... in AC: CL I have to do this... less of course I want to go make alts but that's kinda a hassle. To me this was a huge disappoint, even more so with how fast I was able to upgrade fully.

Now there isn't much to do in the game besides collect things that for the most part are the exact same things in the first two games... there doesn't seem to be very many new items for Nook's.

So whats good?

Well there does seem to be a good amount of new head gear. Always a +.

Gracie's has some really neat new stuff for your house but so far its almost all over 90,000 bells... still at least it is something to shoot for since your house will be paid off so fast.

Nook's allows you to trade in points for prizes, and getting those points is slow going, trust me. And really I'm not very motivated to do so when my house is so small.

Being able to take pictures in-game and then email them out is cool, but you need an SD card.

The Wii speak picks up every sound in the room, even the other persons' TV.

I'm a bit miffed at how many "extras" must be bought to realize each part of the game.

Learning expressions is pretty easy now as you can just go to the city and usually have a choice of four, it costs 800 bells.

Also Red's is now in the city, so that is nice.

Designing clothes is really cool with the Pro Design options.

Overall...

Eh, its AC... same old same old... which out a lot of stand out new features. It almost made me want to go back to my DS and play that one cuz at least I'll have more rooms.

So what are YOUR thoughts, remember, just here to discuss, keep it civil!

ALSO! I have all the fruit and stuff so if anyone here want to come and raid my town I'll put my info in my sig tonight when I get home. mrgreen

if anything to me, it feels like more of just an update of the original... house updates are the same, all seperate again... of course it carries over from the ds game but not hugely... and yeah, i wasn't expecting huge changes when they can't even change almost one word of the start out template... nintendo will use the same animal crossing formula until it absolutly is a dead horse,.... but it works... by the by... post your town info in my friend code sticky, kay?

Will do!

Yeah, I kinda knew they wouldn't do much. I was at least hoping for like maybe an outdoor yard area to edit? Or maybe something new in the musuem like statues or something.

Its kinda weird that they even call it City Life... I rarely even go there!

im pretty sure it's city folk, but that doesn't make a difference.... it just feels like all the random events aren't so random for your convenience

Oh right City Folk, *Nook Laugh*!

Some of the random events I like, like the expressions, being in town. But thats all the city really offers. I was hoping it would be a bit bigger or even that you could develop the city... like live in a apartment, something like that.

It would have been cool if they gave you choices like, live in the city, or town... Does Nintendo have like a suggestion forum or something???

I only played the game for 10 minutes because I found out since I live in Australia, I can't transfer anything from my DS version to the wii version... And I returned it to EB games 2 days after... But from what I played, it wasn't great... the city wasn't something I would go to everyday, and it kinda felt the same as the DS version except bigger and with 4 seperate houses... If only I could somehow install the city to the DS version, I think I wouldn't want City Folk anymore...
