The Hym of Isis
Written by General Nameless - 2/29/2008
Long ago, there was a land named Dulcinea, and in this land, there was a beautiful Celestial tower. Around this tower was a garden of light. it contained many types of vegetation and creatures of nature. From the tower sounded a Hym, it was the Hym of Isis, which kept all the creatures peaceful and for a great deal of time, everything was prosperous. There were no wars, no famine, no pestilence, and the only time anything died was because of natural causes.
But the Hym of Isis was so beautiful that it also entranced the creatures from the dark land, and the creatures of Dulcinea were afraid of the dark creatures. Whenever the dark creatures were around, the dwellers of Dulcinea's wills dissolved, and they no longer had their inner-peace and were sent into a state of mighty unrest, until the dark creatures were gone, that is. The dark creatures loved the sound of the Hym of Isis so much that they wanted to mesh and meld with the tower to become one with it, even though they knew they would destroy and utterly ruin it, should they succeed.
And then, one day, the gravity of reality started to change, and everything started to compress, the weight of things increased. It was very unexpected, but the tower tried to compensate by using the ocean, though it did very little to actually help. See, the tower just wanted all the creatures of the world to be completely happy, but the dark creatures wanted to destroy everything. Deep in the land of dark, there were powerful beings, as powerful as the tower itself, and they were conspiring against the land of Dulcinea to destroy it and flood it for all time.
After the tower changed the currents of the ocean, things started to change as well. Many of the creatures in the land of Dulcinea could feel that state of unrest pulling at them at all times, and others had succumbed to it completely and became dark creatures, themselves. They were then cast out of Dulcinea, some to be eaten by vicious plant monsters, and their only chance to escape from their fate was to leave their comrades dead or dying and flee further into the dark lands on their own. The newly-turned dark creatures wanted revenge on the Dulcineans, and made their way to the powerful beings that lived deep in the heart of the dark lands.
The whole time this was happening, the tower was desperately seeking a way to right the wrongs that had happened, but was unfortunately unable to find one. All she could find was to flood the entire world and she did not want to do that unless it came down to all or nothing. And while she was discovering that the situation was very bleak, it got bleaker still. There were swarms of demonic insects and dark creatures coming to ransack the land of Dulcinea. The Dulcineans fought with all their might but being peaceful creatures were not prepared to defend themselves, and were wiped out utterly and completely without mercy by the dark creatures.
After the defeat of the Dulcineans, the dark creatures bore down on the tower, ripping out stones from her side, deconstructing the tower, and filling the holes with the nothingness that they called their souls. They created a black hole within the tower, and as the tower began being taken over, she started to turn as black as the hole within her. And with the tower, so did the sun turn black, and there was no more land to be seen, everything had gone dark. But the tower still had a small amount of her consciousness left inside her mechanical mind. The tower had summoned up all her remaining strength, though whittling down to nothing quickly, and summoned up a mighty storm.
With this storm came twenty story tidal waves and driving rains that stung and hurt the dark creatures, but their will was now stronger than the tower's and it did almost nothing. The tower, now in ruins, started singing the Hym of Isis, causing all the dark creatures to be lulled into her, as she sank into the ground beneath her, and then, when the final inch of the tower had vanished, there was nothing, and the world was void and crumbled into dust.
