If so, there is a website called www.fightfoca.com and on the website is a petition you or your folks can sign to put a stop to the deadly Freedom of Choice Act, a.k.a. FOCA. Here are the facts:
The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would eliminate every restriction on abortion nationwide.
FOCA will do away with state laws on parental involvement, on partial birth abortion, and on all other protections. FOCA will compel taxpayer funding of abortions. FOCA will force faith-based hospitals and healthcare facilities to perform abortions.
Can't get any worse? It does:
FOCA Would Wipe Away Every Restriction on Abortion Nationwide This would eradicate state and federal laws that the majority of Americans support, such as:
1: Bans on Partial Birth Abortion 2: Requirements that women be given information about the risks of getting an abortion 3: Only licensed physicians can perform abortions 4: Parents must be informed and give consent to their minor daughter's abortion 5: FOCA would erase these laws and prevent states from enacting similar protective measures in the future.
It's basically Roe vs. Wade Part 2.
If you want to take a huge step in saving unborn babies, go to www.fightfoca.com and be a hero to these precious children. The babies will thank you!
"To the world you are one person, but to one person you are the world."
If you want more information on FOCA, go to my profile and I'll answer your questions to the best of my ability.
Thank you and Godspeed!

Can I sign the petition if I'm under 18? They don't address this question on the website. I'm pretty sure I can since it's not a legally binding contract, right?

lymelady Another thing that's good to do: Write your state senators and reps. Seriously, never hurts. Be informed, concise, and clear if you do it. https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm Speaking of writing to reps and senators, if you sign up for the mailing list, AUL, the company that runs the site, will help you contact your state rep and/or senator.

Thanks for pointing out the abortions being performed by non-physicians. I hadn't even thought about that.
There are some states where that's allowed now, I think, but a handful is better than all of them.
Safe and legal, safe and legal, safe and legal.

Women have even died from the "safe, legal" abortions, but you don't hear the pro-choicers talking about that. stare

Rosary16 Women have even died from the "safe, legal" abortions, but you don't hear the pro-choicers talking about that. stare No, more often they say that more die during pregnancy or during child birth but you would be surprised by all the deaths and complications from abortion. Ironic how some had it preformed to save their life yet ended up dying anyways. Most common deaths are perforated organs (uterus) and either had a serious infection or bleed to death due to that or pulmonary embolism (clot in lungs I believe). legal doesn't always mean safe or better choice. And I think parents should at least know about when their child is getting an abortion (there is a lot of risks evolved, more so then pierces yet they have to give consent for that).
